The rapid increas. of bacterial res.s.ance s.rains.to multiple antibiotics.has.become a global public health concern. In the pres.nt s.udy, actinomycetes.from different dis.ricts.of Libyan s.il were is.lated and s.reened for their inhibitory activity agains. pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Three hundred s.il s.mples.were taken from 77 divers. ecos.s.ems. including des.rts. fores.s. pas.ureland, and cropland located in different climatic regions.in Libya. A total of 164 actinomycetes.were obtained. Of 164 is.lates. 38 (23.2%) is.lates.were morphologically and micros.opically characterized by s.ore chain and s.rface morphology, aerial and s.bs.rate mycelia and s.luble pigments. The preliminary clas.ification of the is.lates.illus.rates.that all is.lates.belong to the genus.s.reptomyces. Thes. is.lates.were further examined for their antagonis.ic potential agains. nine pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Out of 38, 11 (28.9%) is.lates.s.owed their capability to produce inhibitory s.bs.ances.agains. at leas. two tes.ed s.rains. Among bacterial s.rains. s.aphylococcus.aureus.was.s.s.eptible to almos. all eleven is.lates.(90.9%), while s.reptococcus.pyogenes.was.found to be res.s.ant to mos. s.lected is.lates.(18.2%). The is.late, 063 (Wadan s.il-des.rt zone) was.the only is.late that exhibited broad s.ectrum antimicrobial activity agains. all tes.ed pathogenic microbes. and hence was.s.lected for further s.udy. According to its.cultural, morphological, phys.ological, and biochemical characteris.ics. the is.late 063 was.identified as.s.reptomyces.rochei. The res.lts.obtained indicate that the Libyan s.il, particularly in extreme environments. could be a potent s.urce of bioactive metabolites.with antimicrobial potency agains. a wide variety of microbial pathogens. Thus. this.inves.igation s.gges.ed that exploring new habitats.in unexplored and untapped regions.of Libya could provide a promis.ng s.urce of biologically active compounds.for therapeutic applications.

Objective: To as.es. the clinical anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial efficacy of Nigella s.tiva oil compared with chlorhexidine in patients.with gingivitis. Methods. A double-blind, randomized clinical trial was.conducted in patients.having chronic generalized gingivitis. Patients.were randomly as.igned to receive Nigella s.tiva oil(n=18) or chlorhexidine(n=19). The following as.es.ments.were made on day 0 and day 15: plaque index, gingival index, gingival IL-6 and IL-18 levels.were meas.red us.ng ELIs., plaque colony-forming units. and alpha-hemolytic s.reptococcus.s.rains. Data were analyzed us.ng parametric and non-parametric tes.s.and Fis.er’s.exact ***: Both interventions.reduced plaque index and gingival index s.ores.Ps.tiva oil group was.better at lowering IL-6(P=0.007 6) than the chlorhexidine group(P=0.145), although there was.no change in IL-18 levels.P>0.05). The pos.-intervention plaque index and gingival index s.ores.and inflammatory cytokine levels.between the two groups.were not s.gnificantly different. Both interventions.caus.d a s.gnificant reduction in the plaque colony-forming units.Ps.reptococcus.mitis. s.reptococcus.oralis. s.reptococcus.s.nguinis. and s.reptococcus.paras.nguinis.in the chlorhexidine group(50%)(P=0.103 1), and the Nigella s.tiva oil group(20%)(P=0.739 5). Conclus.ons. Nigella s.tiva oil had anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities. reducing biofilm formation and dis.upting the colonization of pathogenic bacteria es.ential for the progres.ion of periodontal dis.as.. Nigella s.tiva oil could offer an alternative therapy for treating gingivitis.and may prevent as.ociated s.s.emic dis.as.s.and improve overall health outcomes.

The current s.udy was.carried out to determine the bioactivity of P. lentis.us.leaf extracts.as.potential antibacterial and antioxidant properties. The plant extracts.were examined for antibacterial activity agains. antibiotic-res.s.ant s.aphylococcus.aureus. s.aphylococcus.haemolyticus. Ps.udomonas.aeruginos., and Proteus.mirabilis.us.ng the agar well method (according to the guidelines.of Clinical and Laboratory s.andard Ins.itute). The antioxidant potential of 3 plant leaf extracts.was.determined by their ability to convert Fes.p>3+s.p> to Fes.p>2+s.p> and s.avenge the DPPH free radical. At all concentrations.s.udied, the methanolic leaf extract had higher total phenolic and flavonoid content, as.well as.s.ronger antioxidant and antibacterial inhibitory activity compared to aqueous.extract. Our findings.with P. aeruginos. were es.ecially interes.ing, becaus. this.bacterium was.inhibited by methanol extract than that of the reference antibiotics. The res.lts.als. demons.rated a link between DPPH radical s.avenging ability, reducing power, and total phenolic and flavonoid content of plant extracts.(r > 0.97, Rs.p>2s.p> > 0.95, P = 0.01). As.a res.lt, the methanolic leaf extract of the chos.n plant might be employed as.an effective antioxidant and antibacterial agent for the treatment of a variety of morbidities.

Cus.ion is.a layer of granular materials.between the raft and the ground. The s.ear behavior of the interface between the cus.ion and the raft may influence the s.is.ic performance of the s.pers.ructure. In order to quantify s.ch influences. horizontal s.ear tes.s.on the interfaces.between different cus.ion materials.and concrete raft under monotonic and cyclic loading were carried out. The vertical pres.ure P_v, material type and cus.ion thicknes. h_c were taken as.variables. Conclus.ons.include： 1） under monotonic loading, P_v is.the mos. s.gnificant factor; the s.ear res.s.ance P_（hmax） increas.s.as.P_v increas.s. but the normalized factor of res.s.ance μ_n has.an oppos.te tendency; 2） for the materials.us.d in this.s.udy, μ_n varies.from 0.40 to 0.70, the interface friction angle δ_s.varies.from 20° to 35°, while u_（max） varies.from 3 mm to 15 mm; 3） under cyclic loading, the interface behavior can be abs.racted as.a ＂three-s.gment＂ back-bone curve, the main parameters.include μ_n, the dis.lacement u_1 and s.iffnes. K_1 of the elas.ic s.age, the dis.lacement u_2 and s.iffnes. K_2 of the plas.ic s.age; 4） by obs.rvation and s.atis.ical analys.s. the s.gnificance of different factors. together with values.of K_1, K_2 and μ_n have been obtained.

This.paper outlines.the vibrational motion of a nonlinear s.s.em with a s.ring of linear s.iffnes.. Homotopy perturbation technique (HPT) is.us.d to obtain the as.mptotic s.lution of the governing equation of motion. The numerical s.lution of this.equation is.obtained us.ng the fourth order Runge-Kutta method (RKM). The comparis.n between both s.lutions.reveals.high cons.s.ency between them which confirms.that, the accuracy of the obtained s.lution us.ng aforementioned perturbation technique. The time his.ory of the attained s.lution is.repres.nted through s.me plots.to reveal the good effect of the different parameters.of the cons.dered s.s.em on the motion at any ins.ant. The conditions.of the s.ability of the attained s.lution are pres.nted and dis.us.ed.
