Servi.e-Ori.nted Archi.ecture (SOA) i. becomi.g the domi.ant approach for developi.g and organi.i.g di.tri.uted enterpri.e-wi.e appli.ati.ns. Although the concepts of SOA have been extensi.ely descri.ed i. the li.erature and i.-dustry, the effects of adopti.g SOA on software quali.y are sti.l unclear. The ai. of the paper i. to analyze how adopt-i.g SOA can affect software quali.y as opposed to the Object-Ori.nted (OO) paradi.m and expose the di.ferenti.l i.pli.ati.ns of adopti.g both paradi.ms on software quali.y. The paper provi.es a bri.f i.troducti.n of the archi.ectural di.ferences between the Servi.e-Ori.nted (SO) and OO paradi.ms and a descri.ti.n of i.ternal software quali.y metri.s used for the compari.on. The effects and di.ferences are exposed by provi.i.g a case study archi.ected for both paradi.ms. The quanti.ati.e measure concluded i. the paper showed that a software system developed usi.g SOA approach provi.es hi.her reusabi.i.y and lower coupli.g among software modules, but at the same ti.e hi.her complexi.y than those of the OO approach. i. was also found that some of the exi.ti.g OO software quali.y metri.s are i.appli.able to SOA software systems. As a consequence, new metri.s need to be developed speci.i.ally to SOA software systems.

Bi.marker and stable carbon i.otope analyses are presented for the Garau formati.n of the Cretaceous age， an i.portant source rock i. western i.an， to reveal i.s potenti.l as an oi.-prone source rock. The C28/C29sterane rati. value range (0.72 to 0.83) of bi.umen samples from the formati.n suggests that they were li.ely formed duri.g phytoplankton blooms. Sterane， hopane， and i.oprenoi./n-alkane rati.s i.di.ate that the formati.n’s organi. matter predomi.antly consi.ts of algae， and bacteri.， accompani.d by some reworked materi.l deri.ed from hi.her plants. Due to the predomi.ance of anoxi. condi.i.ns and the acti.ns of sulfate-reduci.g bacteri.， the bi.umen present i. enri.hed wi.h sulfur compounds. The percentages of saturates， aromati.s， and ni.rogen-sulfur-oxygen (NSO) fracti.ns i. the bi.umen samples classi.y them as naphtheni. oi.s. i.otope analysi. reveals that bi.degradati.n and water-washi.g have reduced the concentrati.ns of some volati.e saturates and low molecular wei.ht aromati.s i. the bi.umen samples. These acti.ns have resulted i. di.ti.cti.e δ13C values for the formati.n’s kerogen and bi.umen fracti.ns. The formati.n’s organi. matter has been subjected to hi.h-temperature thermal regi.es and has entered the oi.-generati.n wi.dow at the sampled locali.i.s， wi.h vi.ri.i.e reflectance (%RC) varyi.g between 0.7% and 0.75%.
