Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and *** controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore *** employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying *** artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different *** revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of *** elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC *** the range of low KC(f less than 1.75may serve as a significant characterization for highly organic-rich(>10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

Active organic optical waveguide materials(OOWMs)incorporating room temperature phosphorescence(RTP)hold significant promise for diverse applications in photonic and optoelectronic *** this potential,realizing active RTP optical waveguides with large-sized ordered structures and minimal light loss remains a formidable *** address this issue,we present a groundbreaking thermoplastic active OOWM with low light loss,leveraging room temperature phosphorescent liquid crystalline polymer(LCP).This innovative material can be easily synthesized through the copolymerization of phosphorescent and liquid crystalline *** resulting RTP copolymer exhibits a nematic liquid crystal phase with a phosphorescence lifetime of approximately 0.15 ms and an afterglow duration of around 1 *** the excellent processability of LCP,we successfully produce meter-scale fibers via melt *** RTP LCP fibers,characterized by a high orientation of mesogens along the fiber axis,demonstrate superior light confinement and efficient light conduction compared to unoriented samples,resulting in a low optical loss coefficient of 0.13 dB/***,the thermal responsiveness of the RTP LCP optical waveguide enables its use as a photo *** pioneering work paves the way for the design of new OOWMs tailored for advanced photonics and optoelectronics devices.

Deep and ultra-deep reservoirs have gradually become the primary focus of hydrocarbon exploration as a result of a series of significant discoveries in deep hydrocarbon exploration *** reservoirs present unique challenges due to their deep burial depth(4500-8882 m),low matrix permeability,complex crustal stress conditions,high temperature and pressure(HTHP,150-200℃,105-155 MPa),coupled with high salinity of formation ***,the costs associated with their exploitation and development are exceptionally *** deep and ultra-deep reservoirs,hydraulic fracturing is commonly used to achieve high and stable *** hydraulic fracturing,a substantial volume of fluid is injected into the ***,statistical analysis reveals that the flowback rate is typically less than 30%,leaving the majority of the fluid trapped within the ***,hydraulic fracturing in deep reservoirs not only enhances the reservoir permeability by creating artificial fractures but also damages reservoirs due to the fracturing fluids *** challenging“three-high”environment of a deep reservoir,characterized by high temperature,high pressure,and high salinity,exacerbates conventional forms of damage,including water sensitivity,retention of fracturing fluids,rock creep,and proppant *** addition,specific damage mechanisms come into play,such as fracturing fluid decomposition at elevated temperatures and proppant diagenetic reactions at HTHP ***,the foremost concern in deep oil and gas development lies in effectively assessing the damage inflicted on these reservoirs by hydraulic fracturing,comprehending the underlying mechanisms,and selecting appropriate ***'s noteworthy that the majority of existing studies on reservoir damage primarily focus on conventional reservoirs,with limited attention given to deep reservoirs and a lack of systematic *** light of this,our approach entails initially summarizin

Exploring the structure-activity relationship between the performance of gas sensors and the structure of semiconductor metal oxide （SMO） nanomaterials is crucial for understanding and designing gas-sensing materials and overcoming the application limitations of SMO-based gas *** of a single SMO microstructure provides a promising solution to address this scientific problem due to its controllable *** this study,we control the grain boundary （GB） density of fe2O3nanomaterials using a simple solvothermal *** have similar chemical compositions and crystal phases,providing an ideal platform for studying the influence of the GB density on the gas-sensing ***-sensing tests showed that the fe2O3-1 sensor with medium GB density and the fe2O3-2 sensor with high GB density had higher sensitivity and selectivity than the fe2O3-0 sensors with low GB density before reaching the optimal operating ***,when the GB density increased,the response to acetone decreased slightly,whereas the optimal operating temperature *** work highlights the unique performance of the GB density in enhancing the gas sensitivity of a single SMO.

Sustained casing pressure(SCP)is a crucial issue in the oil and gas production *** resins,exhibiting exceptional compressive strength,ductility,and shear bonding strength,have the potential to form reliable *** injectivity and sealing capacity of the epoxy resin is crucial parameters for the success of shallow remediation *** study aimed to develop and assess a novel solid-free resin sealant as an alternative to Portland cement for mitigating fluid *** investigation evaluated the viscosity,compressive strength,and brittleness index of the epoxy resin sealant,as well as its tangential and normal shear strengths in conjunction with casing *** flow characteristics and sealing abilities of conventional cement and epoxy resin were comparatively analyzed in *** results showed that the application of a viscosity reducer facilitated control over the curing time of the epoxy resin,ranging from 1.5 to 6 h,and reduced the initial viscosity from 865.53 to 118.71 m Pa,*** mechanical properties of the epoxy resin initially increased with a rise in curing agent content before experiencing a minor *** epoxy resin containing 30%curing agent exhibited optimal mechanical *** a 14-day curing period,the epoxy resin's compressive strength reached81.37 MPa,2.12 times higher than that of cement,whereas the elastic modulus of cement was 2.99 times greater than that of the epoxy *** brittleness index of epoxy resin is only 3.42,demonstrating high flexibility and *** tangential and normal shear strengths of the epoxy resin exceeded those of cement by 3.17 and 2.82 times,*** a 0.5 mm-wide crack,the injection pressure of the epoxy resin remained below 0.075 MPa,indicating superior injection and flow ***,the injection pressure of cement surged dramatically to 2.61 MPa within 5 *** breakthrough pressure of0.5 PV epoxy resin reached 7.53 MPa,decreasing the crack's perme
