Persistence of Imidacloprid and β-Cyfluthrin Residue in Black Pepper （Piper Nigrum L.） under Malaysia Climatic Condition

Persistence behavior of imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin in black pepper was studied following application of formulation of Solomon at 0.6 （recommended dose） and 1.2 （double recommended dose） g a.i./ha for one pepper production cycle. The results also showed that the Solomon at 0.6 mL/L concentration significantly suppressed the pest infestation in pepper vines. Pepper vine treated with Solomon produce more berries compared to control and showed no phytotoxicity. Analytical procedure of Solomon active ingredient was validated prior to actual analysis. Satisfactory recoveries ranging between 87.6%-106.7% were obtained for the fortified pepper berries samples. Results showed low level of imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin residues in dried pepper berries ranging between 〈 0.01 mg/kg to 1.43 mg/kg and 〈 0.01 mg/kg to 1.612 mg/kg respectively. The half-life value period for imidacloprid were found to be 2.06 and 2.30 days and for beta-cyfluthrin, these values were observed to be 1.57 and 1.49 days respectively at recommended and double recommended dose. Imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin residue dissipated below the limit of quantification （LOQ） of 0.01 mg/kg after 7 and 9 days respectively at recommended and double recommended dose. Soil sample collected 15 days after the last spray did not show the present of Imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin residue at their detection limit of 0.01 mg/kg.

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have raised research interest in scientific community because their power conversion efficiency is comparable to that of traditional commercial solar cells(i.e., amorphous Si, GaAs,and CdTe). Apart from that, PSCs are lightweight, are flexible, and have low production costs. Recently, graphene has been used as a novel material for PSC applications due to its excellent optical, electrical, and mechanical properties. The hydrophobic nature of graphene surface can provide protection against air moisture from the surrounding medium, which can improve the lifetime of devices. Herein, we review recent developments in the use of graphene for PSC applications as a conductive electrode,carrier transporting material, and stabilizer material. By exploring the application of graphene in PSCs, a new class of strategies can be developed to improve the device performance and stability before it can be commercialized in the photovoltaic market in the near future.

Barrett’s esophagus is a well-known premalignant lesion of the lower esophagus that is characterized by intestinal metaplasia of the squamous epithelium. It is clinically important due to the increased risk (0.5% per annum) of progression to esophageal adenocarcinoma (EA), which has a poor outcome unless diagnosed early. The current clinical management of Barrett’s esophagus is hampered by the lack of accurate predictors of progression. In addition, when patients develop EA, the current staging modalities are limited in stratifying patients into different prognostic groups in order to guide the optimal therapy for an individual patient. Biomarkers have the potential to improve radically the clinical management of patients with Barrett’s esophagus and EA but have not yet entered mainstream clinical practice. This is in contrast to other cancers like breast and prostate for which biomarkers are utilized routinely to inform clinical decisions. This review aims to highlight the most promising predictive and prognostic biomarkers in Barrett’s esophagus and EA and to discuss what is required to move the field forward towards clinical application.

The UCR time series archive–introduced in 2002,has become an important resource in the time series data mining community,with at least one thousand published papers making use of at least one data set from the *** original incarnation of the archive had sixteen data sets but since that time,it has gone through periodic *** last expansion took place in the summer of 2015 when the archive grew from 45 to 85 data *** paper introduces and will focus on the new data expansion from 85 to 128 data *** expanding this valuable resource,this paper offers pragmatic advice to anyone who may wish to evaluate a new algorithm on the ***,this paper makes a novel and yet actionable claim:of the hundreds of papers that show an improvement over the standard baseline(1-nearest neighbor classification),a fraction might be mis-attributing the reasons for their ***,the improvements claimed by these papers might have been achievable with a much simpler modification,requiring just a few lines of code.

Integrated energy-oriented lateral stability control of a four-wheelindependent-drive electric vehicle

Improving the energy efficiency of an electric vehicle(EV) is an effective approach to extend its driving range. This paper proposes an integrated energy-oriented lateral stability controller(IESC) for a four-wheel independent-drive EV(4 WID-EV) to optimize its energy consumption while maintaining vehicular stability during cornering. The IESC is a hierarchical controller with two levels. The high-level decision-making controller determines the virtual control inputs, i.e., the desired additional yaw moment and total wheel torque, while the low-level controller allocates the motor torques according to the virtual control *** the high-level controller, the desired additional yaw moment is first calculated using a linear quadratic regulator(LQR) to minimize the control expenditure. Meanwhile, a stability weighting factor(SWF) based on phase plane analysis is proposed to adjust the additional yaw moment, which can reduce the additional energy consumption caused by the mismatch between the reference model and the actual vehicle. In addition to the yaw moment, the desired total wheel torque is calculated using a proportional-integral(PI) controller to track the desired longitudinal velocity. In the low-level controller, a multi-objective convex-optimization problem is established to optimize the motor torque by minimizing the energy consumption and considering the tire-road frictional limit and motor saturation. A globally optimal solution is obtained by using an active-set method. Finally,double-lane change(DLC) simulations are conducted using Car Sim and MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller achieves great lateral stability control performance and reduces the energy consumption by5.23% and 2.95% compared with the rule-based control strategy for high-and low-friction DLC maneuvers, respectively.
