A green-emitting phosphor Ca（Tb1-xLax）4（SiO4）3O （CTLS） was synthesized by a solid state reaction. X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence （PL） spectroscopy, reflectance spectra and chromaticity coordinates were carried out in this study. The CaTb4（SiO4）3O host has been known to crystallize in a hexagonal structure with disordering found in the Ca2＋ and Tb3＋ cation sites. The phosphors exhibited highly green-emitting band centered at 541 nm under ultraviolet excitation, which corresponds to the 5D4→7F5 transition. The optimal doping concentration of Tb3＋ was observed to be at 20 mol%, and the PL intensity was found to decline dramatically when the content of Tb3＋ exceeds 20m01% due to concentration quenching. Based on the results, we are currently evaluating the potential application of Ca（Tb,La）4（SiO4）30 as a new green-emitting near-UV LED convertible phosphor.

A highly intense green-emitting phosphor of Eu2＋-doped Sr4Al14O25 （SAE：Eu2＋） was synthesized by a solid state reaction. In this study, XRD, PL/PLE, QE, thermal stability and LED package tests are systematically carried out and investigated. The optimized-composition of （Sro 92Eu0.08）4Al14025 exhibited a green emission peak at 497 nm under excitation wavelength of 400 nm, giving the chromaticity coordinates of （0.14, 0.35） with excellent quantum efficiency （98%） compared to those of other green-commodities, such as Ba2SiO4：Eu2＋（90%） and BaMgAl10O17：EU2＋, Mn2＋（92%）. The results demonstrated that SAE：Eu2＋ could be a potential candidate as the NUV-pumping phosphor for applications in light-emitting diodes （LEDs）.

Microstructural features and ionic conductivity of divalent(Mg 2+)and trivalent(Gd 3+)cations co-doped ceria electrolyte system Ce_ 0.8-xGd_ 0.2Mg_xO_ 1.9-x were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and AC impedance *** experimental results exhibit that addition of MgO to GDC reduces the average binding energy of GDC by decreasing the energy barrier of oxygen ion migration in ceria matrix and the ionic conductivity of 2 mol% magnesium doped GDC(0.018 S/cm)is higher than that of GDC matrix at 650℃(0.0105 S/cm).Co-doping Mg 2+ and Gd 3+ is found to increase the ionic conductivity of ceria and hence decreases the operation temperature as well as the cost of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC).

AIM:To identify the mucosal patterns of Helicobacter pylori(*** )-related gastritis in the gastric corpus using standard endoscopy and to evaluate their ***:A total of 112 consecutive patients underwent upper gastrointestinal *** endoscopists classified the endoscopic findings into 4 *** the second part of the study,90 images were shown to 3 endoscopists in order to evaluate the inter-observer and intra-observer variability in image ***:The mucosal patterns of the gastric bodywere categorized into 4 *** 1 pattern was defined as cleft-like appearance,type 2 as regular arrangement of red dots,type 3 pattern as the mosaic mucosal pattern and type 4 pattern as the mosaic pattern with a focal area of *** 1 and type 2 mucosal patterns were statistically significant in predicting *** status as compared with other mucosal types(χ 2 = 12.79 and 61.25 respectively,P < 0.01).Type 3 and type 4 mucosal patterns were statistically significant in predicting a ***-positive status as compared with other mucosal types(χ 2 = 21.22 and 11.02 respectively,P < 0.01).Furthermore,the sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values of type 3 plus type 4 patterns for predicting ***-positive gastric mucosa were 100%,86%,94%,and 100%,*** mean κ values for inter-and intra-observer agreement in assessing the various endoscopic patterns were 0.808(95% CI,0.678-0.938) and 0.826(95% CI,0.727-0.925) ***:Our study suggests that mucosal patterns in ***-infected gastric mucosa without atrophy can be reliably identified using standard endoscopy in the gastric corpus.

The aim of this study is to investigate microscopic structure and characterize cancellous bone of avascular necrosis of the femoral head （ANFH）. The rabbit model of the ANFH is established. The histopathologic features are studied successfully. The differences between the steroidinjection group （S.G.） and the controlled group （C.G.） are examined, including the weight of rabbits, the hematological examination and the three-dimensional stnactures. It is found that the plasma levels of cholesterol （CHO）, high-density lipoprotein （HDL） and low-density lipoprotein （LDL） in S.G. are lower than those in C.G. when the triglyceride （TG） increased in the S.G.; but the bone mineral content （BMC） and the structural model index （SMI） of the organ and tissue decreased significantly in S.G. Three-dimensional structures of the femoral head are obtained using micro-computed tomography （CT） scanning and the mechanical model is established to analyze the influences of these structural changes on the mechanical properties of the cancellous bone.

Gold nanoparticles decorating the surface of multiwalled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） are prepared by photochemical reduction. The gold clusters form different interesting geometrical faceted shapes in accordance to time duration of synchrotron X-ray irradiation. The shape of nanogold could be spherical, rod-like, or triangular. Carbon nanotubes serve as optimal templates for the heterogeneous nucleation of gold nanocrystals. These nanocrystal structures are characterized by transmission electron microscope （TEM） and element analysis by energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDS）. 2007 Chinese Society of Particuology and Institute of Process Engineering,Chinese Academy of Sciences. Background:Understanding how species diversify is a long-standing question in *** allopatric speciation model is a classic hypothesis to explain the speciation *** model supposes that there is no gene flow during the divergence process of geographically isolated *** the contrary,the speciation with gene flow model supposes that gene flow does occur during the speciation *** allopatric species have gene flow during the speciation process is still an open ***:We used the genetic information from 31 loci of 24 Chinese Bamboo Partridges(Bambusicola thoracicus)and 23 Taiwan Bamboo Partridges(***)to infer the gene flow model of the two species,using the approxi-mate Bayesian computation(ABC)*** ecological niche model was used to infer the paleo-distribution during the glacial *** also tested whether the two species had a conserved ecological niche by means of a back-ground similarity ***:The genetic data suggested that the post-divergence gene flow between the two species was terminated before the ***,our ecological niche modeling suggested that their ecological niches were highly conserved,and that they shared an overlapping potential distribution range in the last glacial ***:The allopatric speciation model cannot explain the speciation process of the two Bamboo *** results of this study supported a scenario in which speciation with gene flow occurring between the allopatric species and have contributed to our understanding of the speciation process.

We described two members in a family with gastrointestinal stromal tumors （GISTs） without cutaneous hyperpigmentation. The patients were father and son who did not have cutaneous hyperpigmentation. Histological examination showed that these tumors were GISTs expressing CD34 and CD117. Tumor DNA extracted from paraffin-embedded specimens revealed somatic mutation with a deletion mutation at different codons in exon 11 of c-kit gene after direct sequencing analysis. No germline mutation was detected in DNA extracted from peripheral leukocytes obtained from the father and son. We propose that GISTs could be caused by sporadic somatic mutation in a family without germline mutation and hyperpigmentation.

BACKGROUND Chondrosarcoma,a cartilage matrix producing tumor,is the second most commonly observed primary bone tumor after osteosarcoma,accounting for 15%of all chest wall *** herein report the case of a patient with chondrosarcoma of the sternum and our management of the chest wall defects that presented following radical tumor *** SUMMARY A 31-year-old patient presented to our hospital with dull pain and a protruding mass overlying the chest for 3 *** presence of nocturnal pain and mass size progression was reported,as were overhead arm elevation-related *** tomography showed a focal osteoblastic mass in the sternum with bony exostosis and adjacent soft tissue *** emission tomography-computed tomography revealed hypermetabolic activity with a mass located over the upper *** resonance imaging showed a focal illdefined bony mass of the sternum with cortical destruction and periosteal *** biopsy showed a consistent result with chondrosarcoma with immunohistochemical positivity for S100 and focal positivity for *** grade II chondrosarcoma diagnosis was confirmed by postoperative *** patient underwent radical tumor resection and chest wall reconstruction with a locking plate and cement *** patient was discharged 1 wk after surgery without any *** the 1-year follow-up,there was no local recurrence on *** functional scores,including Constant Score,Nottingham Clavicle Score,and Oxford Shoulder Score,showed the absence of pain in the performance of daily activities or substantial functional *** The diagnosis of chondrosarcoma must be considered when chest wall tumors are *** surgical reconstructive materials,with a locking plate and cement spacer,used in our study are cost-effective and readily-available for the sternum defect.
