Based on the quaternary Ti41Zr25Be29Al5 glassy alloy with a critical diameter of 7 mm reported not long ago,an obvious enhancement of glass-forming ability(GFA) has been realized in this alloy by the addition of Cu element.A series of(Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)100-xCux(x=0,2,5,7,9,11 at%) glassy alloys have been developed and some of them can be cast into one-centimeter diameter fully glassy rods by copper mold suction *** has been found that Cu addition could stabilize the liquid phase and suppress the crystallization,resulting in improvement of the GFA of the *** addition of Cu also increases the compressive strength of the alloy and the(Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)91Cu9 glassy alloy possesses a specific strength(defined as yield strength/density) of 4.13×105Nm/kg,which is much higher than most other reported centimeter-sized bulk metallic *** present result suggests that the newly developed(Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)91Cu9 glassy alloy is a good candidate for structural applications because of its good glass-forming ability and mechanical properties.

The recent explosive outbreak of Zika virus （ZlKV） infection has been reported in South and Central America and the Caribbean. Neonatal microcephaly associated with ZIKV infection has already caused a public health emergency of international concern. No specific vaccines or drugs are currently available to treat ZIKV infection. The ZIKV helicase, which plays a pivotal role in viral RNA replication, is an attractive tar- get for therapy. We determined the crystal structures of ZIKV helicase-ATP-Mnz＋ and ZlKV helicase-RNA. This is the first structure of any flavivirus helicase bound to ATP. Comparisons with related flavivirus helicases have shown that although the critical P-loop in the active site has variable conformations among different species, it adopts an identical mode to recognize ATPIMn2＋. The structure of ZlKV helicase-RNA has revealed that upon RNA binding, rotations of the motor domains can cause significant conformational changes. Strikingly, although ZlKV and dengue virus （DENV） apo-helicases share conserved residues for RNA binding, their different manners of motor domain rotations result in distinct individual modes for RNA recognition. It suggests that flavivirus helicases could have evolved a conserved engine to convert chemical energy from nucleoside triphosphate to mechanical energy for RNA unwinding, but different motor domain rotations result in variable RNA recognition modes to adapt to individual viral replication.

Multi-attribute decision problems where the performances of the alternatives are random variables are considered. The suggested approach grades the probabilities of preference of one alternative over another with respect to the same attribute. Based on the graded probabilistic dominance relation, the pairwise comparison information table is defined. The global preferences of the decision maker can be seen as a rough binary relation. The present paper proposes to approximate this preference relation by means of the graded probabilistic dominance relation with respect to the subsets of attributes. At last, the method is illustrated by an example.

In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for systems of quasi-linear wave equations with multiple propagation speeds in spatial dimensions n ≥ 4. The problem when the nonlinearities depend on both the unknown function and their derivatives is studied. Based on some Klainerman- Sideris type weighted estimates and space-time L2 estimates, the results that the almost global existence for space dimensions n = 4 and global existence for n≥ 5 of small amplitude solutions are presented.

In present work,we investigate production of magnesium by carbothermic reduction under vacuum *** process was divided into two parts,one is reduction process,and the other one is condensation *** experimental results revealed that during reduction process,the gas-solid reaction between MgO and CO was not occurred at a temperature and pressure of 1723 K and 30-100 Pa *** the main reduction reaction was MgO(_(s))+C(_(s))=Mg(_(g))+CO(_(g))(under vacuum)and reaction type belonged to solid-solid *** Condensation Process,according to a contrast and analysis,the condensation quality of magnesium is associated with CO *** resultant product C was formed and it followed magnesium vapor condensation which prevents mutual combination of two metal droplets to forms the compact condensation ***,in order to compact morphological forms of magnesium crystal whiskers,we must control the technical conditions and find the method to separate the magnesium vapor and carbon ***'s the key factor to get better crystalline structure.

Numerical comparison of three stochastic methods for nonlinear PN junction problems

We apply the Monte Carlo, stochastic Galerkin, and stochastic collocation methods to solving the drift-diffusion equations coupled with the Poisson equation arising in semiconductor devices with random rough surfaces. Instead of dividing the rough surface into slices, we use stochastic mapping to transform the original deterministic equations in a random domain into stochastic equations in the corresponding deterministic domain. A finite element discretization with the help of AFEPack is applied to the physical space, and the equations obtained are solved by the approximate Newton iterative method. Comparison of the three stochastic methods through numerical experiment on different PN junctions are given. The numerical results show that, for such a complicated nonlinear problem, the stochastic Galerkin method has no obvious advantages on efficiency except accuracy over the other two methods, and the stochastic collocation method combines the accuracy of the stochastic Galerkin method and the easy implementation of the Monte Carlo method.

Halomonas bluephagenesis TD serves as an exceptional chassis for next generation industrial biotechnology to produce various ***,the simultaneous editing of multiple loci in *** TD remains a significant ***,we report the development of a multiple loci genome editing system,named CRISPR-deaminase-assisted base editor(CRISPR-BE)in *** *** system comprises two components:a cytidine(CRISPR-cBE)and an adenosine(CRISPR-aBE)deaminase-based base ***-cBE can introduce a cytidine to thymidine mutation with an efficiency of up to 100%within a 7-nt editing window in *** ***,CRISPR-aBE demonstrates an efficiency of up to 100%in converting adenosine to guanosine mutation within a 7-nt editing ***-cBE has been further validated and successfully employed for simultaneous multiplexed editing in *** *** findings reveal that CRISPR-cBE efficiently inactivated all six copies of the IS1086 gene simultaneously by introducing stop *** system achieved an editing efficiency of 100%and 41.67%in inactivating two genes and three genes,*** substituting the Pcas promoter with the inducible promoter PMmp1,we optimized CRISPR-cBE system and ultimately achieved 100%editing efficiency in inactivating three *** conclusion,our research offers a robust and efficient method for concurrently modifying multiple loci in *** TD,opening up vast possibilities for industrial applications in the future.
