The NO gas is easily oxidized to form toxic by-products(NO_(2))during the oxidation process,which are adsorbed on the catalyst surface and inhibit the subsequent reaction.For photocatalytic NO removal,a significant challenge is to achieve catalytic stability while maintaining high conversion efficiency.Here,we fabricated a(BiO)_(2)CO_(3)/β-Bi_(2)O_(3)heterostructure that enables efficient charge transfer and promotes the NO removal.We propose that the catalytic stability depends on the heterojunction structure,which is able to generate interfacial charge transfer channels.In addition,we further introduce graphene quantum dots on the heterojunction structure,which further strengthens the interfacial charge transfer dynamics and finally realizes that the NO_(2)byproduct could gain electrons and convert to the final product(nitrite or nitrate).This composite structure not only exhibits high activity for NO removal but also maintains long-term stability under visible light.

The Liupan Mountains,one of the important mountain ranges in western China,are located on the boundary between the northeastern Tibetan Plateau and the Ordos Block.The uplift history of the Liupan Mountains remains controversial.Loess deposits are good tracers of regional tectonic and geomorphic changes,because loess is sensitive to erosion and the formation and preservation of loess requires relatively flat highlands and relatively stable tectonic environments.We investigated the distribution of Neogene loess deposits on the western piedmont of the Liupan Mountains and examined a near-continuous loess section(Nanping section)on the piedmont alluvial highlands.Correlation of magnetic susceptibility stratigraphy with the QA-ⅠMiocene loess sequence dates this 56-m section covering the interval from~8.1 to 6.2 Ma.The lower boundary age of this section,together with previously reported Zhuanglang red clay(sand-gravel layers with intercalated loess during~9–8 Ma and near-continuous loess during~8–4.8 Ma)and Chaona red clay(~8.1–2.58 Ma),indicates that the Liupan Mountains were uplifted in the late Miocene(~9–8 Ma)and basically formed by~8 Ma,attesting to no intense mountain building since that time.In addition,based on the information from the Zhuanglang core and the QA-Ⅰsection,we infer that sizable parts of the Liupan Mountains were uplifted during the late Oligocene–early Miocene and did not experience intense uplift during~22–9 Ma.

At present, high efficiency and low fabrication cost are still the main goal that people pursuit for next-generation solar cells such as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and organic solar cells (OPVs). Polyoxometalates (POMs), as an environmentally friendly material, are a type of stable, low cost and soluble oxide clusters with desirable features, including highly tunable structural properties, peculiar optoelectronic properties and excellent redox properties. Thus, during the recent years, POMs have been increasingly recognized as important building blocks for DSSCs and OPVs. In this review, the development of various molecular and hybrid materials derived from POMs is discussed with regard to the function in solar cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Characteristics of secondary droplets produced by the impact of drops onto a smooth surface

This work investigates the splashing behaviors of droplets impacting on solid surfaces and mainly focuses on the characteristics of secondary droplets.According to the experimental results,two different splashing patterns,corona splash and levitating-lamella breakup,are observed.A new breakup mode,named rimsegmenting,is found during the levitating-lamella breakup.In particular,the detailed information of the splashing secondary droplets,including the size,velocity,angle,and total volume of the splashing secondary droplets is obtained from the experimental data.The size distribution of the splashing secondary droplets obeys the gamma distribution function.The average diameter and splashing angle of the secondary droplets are mainly related to the Reynolds number Re,and can be expressed as functions of Re.High impact velocity and liquid viscosity will result in a wider size distribution range of splashing secondary droplets.We also put forward an empirical model to predict the total splashing volume,which is consistent with the experimental data both in this work and previous studies.This work is believed to provide insights on the prediction of the characteristics of splashing secondary droplets.

Synergistic effects of AAGL and anti-PD-1 on hepatocellular carcinoma through lymphocyte recruitment to the liver

Objective:Therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a major challenge,and targeted therapies provide only a modest benefit in terms of overall survival.Treatment with antibodies to programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)/PD-L1 can restore the functions of tumor-infiltrating T cells in HCC and has shown clinical efficacy in 20%of patients with advanced HCC.Novel approaches are urgently needed to treat HCC and to augment the efficacy of immunotherapy.Methods:Tumor-bearing mice were treated with Agrocybe aegerita galectin(AAGL)alone or in combination with anti-PD-1,and the tumor sizes and lifespans of mice were determined.Transcriptome analysis,cytokine analysis,flow cytometry analysis of the number and proportion of immune cell subsets in the liver and spleen,and molecular and cellular analyses of tumors were used to define the underlying mechanisms.Results:AAGL significantly inhibited the growth of liver tumors in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,AAGL increased the expression of multiple cytokines and chemokines in tumor-bearing mouse livers;this effect was associated with the activation and migration of T cells and macrophages,in agreement with the in vitro results.Importantly,the aggregation of T cells and macrophages induced by AAGL in tumor-bearing mouse livers clearly enhanced the response to PD-1 blockade immunotherapy.Conclusions:The results showed that AAGL induced the activation and migration of lymphocytes to the liver,and that the combination of AAGL and anti-PD-1 may be a promising strategy for HCC treatment.

Aging poses a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases,the leading cause of death in the aged population.However,the cell type-specific changes underlying cardiac aging are far from being clear.Here,we performed single-nucleus RNA-sequencing analysis of left ventricles from young and aged cynomolgus monkeys to define cell composition changes and transcriptomic alterations across different cell types associated with age.We found that aged cardiomyocytes underwent a dramatic loss in cell numbers and profound fluctuations in transcriptional profles.Via transcription regulatory network analysis,we identified FOxP1,a core transcription factor in organ development,as a key downregulated factor in aged cardiomyocytes,concomitant with the dysregulation of FoxP1 target genes associated with heart function and cardiac diseases.Consistently,the deficiency of FOxP1 led to hypertrophic and senescent phenotypes in human embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes.Altogether,our findings depict the celiular and molecular landscape of ventricular aging at the single-cell resolution,and identify drivers for primate cardiac aging and potential targets for intervention against cardiac aging and associated diseases.

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the initial boundary problem of the two-dimensional density-dependent Boussinesq equations.It is shown that the solutions of the Boussinesq equations converge to those of zero thermal diffusivity Boussinesq equations as the thermal diffusivity tends to zero,and the convergence rate is established.In addition,we prove that the boundary-layer thickness is of the valueδ(k)=k^(α)with anyα∈(0,1/4)for a small diffusivity coefficient k>0,and we also find a function to describe the properties of the boundary layer.

城市环境正义受到居住空间阶层化的影响,现有文献忽视了空间环境不平等问题生成的动态性与复杂性,通过构建"力争上游"的整合性分析框架可以解答这一问题。力争上游的分析框架强调,行动者的目标偏好、决策理性、信息认知、资源基础、行动意向等微观因素与社会文化、制度结构、历史传统等宏观要素的相互作用对空间环境塑造产生重要影响。这一框架将形塑城市环境的多元主体放到动态变化的社会系统中加以考查,关注行动者—结构—情境的互动作用,揭示空间阶层化是如何通过多重复杂机制扭曲城市环境正义的。由于城市政府在环境资源分配中的作用日益突出,城市居民获取附着优质环境资源的住房空间的努力日益彰显,房地产开发商、排污企业等与城市政府的合作日益密切,各方"力争上游"使城市社会中存在着环境资源难以平等共享的困境。城市环境正义问题被生成这种居住空间阶层化机制的不同主体力量所共同形塑。
