This study explores whether Chinese Socially Responsible Investors (SRIs) can be identified as drivers of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in China. A detailed single case study explores how, why and what drives investors to integrate social and environmental responsibilities into their entire investment process. This study also tests the instrumental theory of CSR. The data is collected by internal interviews, internal documents/archival data and public sources. Moreover, external interviews are conducted with top CSR consultancies, NGOs and researchers in China. This study examines a unique case of a SRI in Beijing. The empirical results reveal two key findings. The selected SRI-labeled venture capital investor manages two funds, of which one, with overseas Limited Partners, can be identified as a driver of CSR and seems to be guided by both the instrumental and ethical theories of CSR. The other fund, with Chinese Limited Partners does not have the same advanced social and environmental management system in place. The findings tend to indicate two factors: that average Chinese SRIs cannot currently be identified as drivers of CSR in China, but they, especially venture capital organizations, can be identified as potential effective drivers of CSR in the future.

Synthesis and characterization of nano-hydroxyapatite added with magnesium obtained by wet chemical precipitation

Biogenic hydroxyapatites from mammalian bones naturally contain traces of ions, like Mg, which play a vital role in the bone remodeling process. In this way, synthetic hydroxyapatites should include this kind of mineral. In this work, hydroxyapatite added with Mg was synthesized by wet precipitation using（NH;）H;PO;, Ca（NO;）;.4 H;O,and Mg（NO;）;.6 H;O（0, 0.032, 0.061, and 0.123 M）. Inductively coupled plasma and X-ray diffraction evidenced the Mg inclusion in the hydroxyapatite lattice in the same levels reported for natural hydroxyapatites. The calcination at 600℃ was performed to remove the reaction by-products, but it also gave rise to physicochemical changes as the coalescence and crystals recrystallization. It produced, in turn, an improvement in the crystalline quality, according to Raman analysis. Despite those physicochemical changes, all the samples remained nanometric according to scanning electron microscopy imaging.

BACKGROUND Radiosurgery for multiple brain metastases has been more reported recently without using whole-brain ***,the sparsity of the data still claims more information about toxicity and survival and their association with both dosimetric and geometric aspects of this *** To assess the toxicity and survival outcome of radiosurgery in patients with multiple(four or more lesions)brain *** In a single institution,data were collected retrospectively from patients who underwent radiosurgery to treat brain metastases from diverse primary *** with 4-21 brain metastases were treated with a single fraction with a dose of 18 Gy or 20 *** clinical variables collected were relevant to toxicity,survival,treatment response,planning,and dosimetric *** Spearman’s rank correlation coefficients,Mann-Whitney test,Kruskal-Wallis test,and Log-RESULTS From August 2017 to February 2020,55 patients were *** was the most common complaint(38.2%).The median overall survival(OS)for patients with karnofsky performance status(KPS)>70 was 8.9 mo,and this was 3.6 mo for those with KPS≤70(P=0.047).Patients with treated lesions had a median progression-free survival of 7.6 *** were no differences in OS(19.7 vs 9.5 mo)or progression-free survival(10.6 vs 6.3 mo)based on prior *** was no correlation found between reported toxicities and planning,dosimetric,and geometric variables,implying that no additional significant toxicity risks appear to be added to the treatment of multiple(four or more)*** No associations were found between the evaluated toxicities and the planning dosimetric parameters,and no differences in survival rates were detected based on previous treatment status.

研究了两类含Riemann-Liouville分数阶导数的分数阶微分方程两点边值问题。理论上,通过引入分数阶Green函数将含有Riemann-Liouville分数阶导数的两点边值问题等价转换成一个积分方程;并用Lipschitz条件和压缩映射原理给出了含有Riemann-Liouville分数阶导数的两点边值问题的解存在唯一的充分条件;数值上,设计了单打靶法,把含Riemann-Liouville分数阶导数的两点边值问题转化为含Riemann-Liouville分数阶导数的初值问题进行求解,并给出了较为精确的数值解。仿真结果表明:单打靶法是数值求解此类分数阶微分方程两点边值问题的有效工具。

The periaqueductal gray(PAG)is a complex mesencephalic structure involved in the integration and execution of active and passive self-protective behaviors against imminent threats,such as immobility or flight from a *** activity is also associated with the integration of responses against physical discomfort(e.g.,anxiety,fear,pain,and disgust)which occurs prior an imminent attack,but also during withdrawal from drugs such as morphine and *** PAG sends and receives projections to and from other well-documented nuclei linked to the phenomenon of drug addiction including:(i)the ventral tegmental area;(ii)extended amygdala;(iii)medial prefrontal cortex;(iv)pontine nucleus;(v)bed nucleus of the stria terminalis;and(vi)*** models have suggested that the PAG contributes to the modulation of anxiety,fear,and nociception(all of which may produce physical discomfort)linked with chronic exposure to drugs of *** produced by the major pharmacological classes of drugs of abuse is mediated through actions that include participation of the *** support of this,there is evidence of functional,pharmacological,***/or genetic alterations in the PAG during the impulsive/compulsive intake or withdrawal from a *** to its small size,it is difficult to assess the anatomical participation of the PAG when using classical neuroimaging techniques,so its phys-iopathology in drug addiction has been underestimated and poorly *** this theoretical review,we discuss the involvement of the PAG in drug addiction mainly via its role as an integrator of responses to the physical discomfort associated with drug withdrawal.

＜正＞We present a tutorial overview of new methods for designing feedback controllers for infinite-dimensional systems controlled from the boundary. Such problems arise in turbulent flow control, chemical process control, fusion, nanotechnology applications such as control of cantilever beams in atomic force microscopes, etc. Due to the inherent high dimensionality and unbounded input and output operators, control methods that mimic standard finite-dimensional techniques and require the solution of operator Riccati equations are hard to apply to these problems. We present a set of novel controller and observer design techniques inspired by geometric nonlinear control tools and "backstepping", which employ only symbolic computation. In flow control applications these techniques can be employed in such a way that not only the turbulence is suppressed but the linearized Navier-Stokes PDEs are solved explicitly. In control of flexible beams the new techniques remove the need for collocated actuators and sensors, which has permeated this field for decades. For distributed parameter systems with unknown parameters we show adaptive control techniques that ensure stabilization even in the most challenging of cases like the cases with infinite relative degrees, infinitely many unknown parameters, and infinitely many unmeasured states. Trajectory tracking problems are rarely, if ever, pursued for PDE systems. We show that they become readily tractable with the new techniques. All of the new techniques are fully accessible to researchers with an engineer’s level of mathematical background. This area is just transitioning from its infancy period to the period where numerous open problems exist and have come within reach. It presents excellent opportunities to young researchers looking for topics with both theoretical and applied impact.

自从17世纪开始,美国和墨西哥就已经成为世界上两个最大的美洲山核桃的生产国。根据Intracen数据显示,墨西哥2008年所产的美洲山核桃中的85.77%出口到美国。尽管中国的坚果种植面积已经翻了三番,但由于较低的产出水平和国内近年来不断增长的需求,中国在过去几年不得不从美国进口了大量的美洲山核桃。此外,中国通过事先买断农场的整个产品供应,以此来控制美洲山核桃的价格和产量。该领域的许多专家发现墨西哥出口到美国的美洲山核桃又被再一次出口到了中国。尽管很少有墨西哥生产商了解此状况,但他们中的绝大多数都认为将产品直接出口到中国是很复杂的甚至是不可能的,而这无疑将减少他们对外贸易的收益。中国的美洲山核桃的供应链很复杂,掺杂着众多中间商,而这无疑提高了坚果在中国的最终零售价格。从供应链中剔除美国这个中间商,直接将坚果从墨西哥出口到中国,将为墨西哥生产商创造新的利润空间,通过生产商和供应商的直接沟通,消费者将得到产品更好的最终价格。通过对所有产业相关要素的调查研究和PEST分析,笔者从一个战略性的、综合性的视角对中国的美洲山核桃市场进行了深入的分析。在文章的第二部分,中国消费者对美洲山核桃的消费期望则是通过对网上所调查客户的具体需求的分析而得到。通过上述两方面的分析,笔者确认了绕开美国中间商,直接将墨西哥的美洲山核桃出口到中国的可行性。中国的监管机构和消费者需要一个与由墨西哥提供的美洲山核桃相匹配的优质市场。尤其中国的坚果批发商是墨西哥山核桃的潜在目标客户。在文章的结论中,笔者为将要开始直接向中国出口的墨西哥生产商、批发商以及供货商提出了一些建议和意见。
