Untargeted and targeted mass spectrometry reveal the effects of theanine on the central and peripheral metabolomics of chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced depression in juvenile rats

L-theanine has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on depression.However,whether L-theanine has an excellent preventive effect on depression in children and adolescents and what its mechanism is have not been well explained.Given the complexity of the pathogenesis of depression,this study investigated the preventive effect and mechanism of L-theanine on depression in juvenile rats by combining serum and hippocampal metabolomic strategies.Behavioral tests,hippocampal tissue sections,and serum and hippocampal biochemical indexes were studied,and the results confirmed the preventive effect of Ltheanine.Untargeted reversed-phase liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry and targeted hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry were developed to analyze the metabolism changes in the serum and hippocampus to screen for potential biomarkers related to L-theanine treatment.The results suggested that 28 abnormal metabolites in the serum and hippocampus that were considered as potential biomarkers returned to nearnormal levels after L-theanine administration.These biomarkers were involved in various metabolic pathways,mainly including amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism.The levels of amino acids and neurotransmitters in the phenylalanine,tryptophan,and glutamic acid pathways were significantly reduced after L-theanine administration compared with chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced rats.In summary,L-theanine had a significant preventive effect on depression and achieved its preventive results on depression by regulating various aspects of the body,such as amino acids,lipids,and inflammation.This research systematically analyzed the mechanism of L-theanine in preventing depression and laid the foundation for applying L-theanine to prevent depression in children and adolescents.

Efficient selective activation of sorbitol C–O bonds over C–C bonds on CoGa(221)generated by lattice-induction strategy

Sorbitol is a primary platform compound in the conversion of cellulose.The conversion of sorbitol to C_(6) hydrocarbons requires a complete cleavage of C–O bonds and meanwhile the inhibition of C–C cleavage.Here,we demonstrated an efficient selective cleavage of C–O over C–C bond on the(221)facet of supported CoGa.A selectivity of 94%to C_(6) hydrocarbon with conversion of 97%has been achieved.The selective C–O cleavage was demonstrated by tuning the exposed facet as(221)or(110).The supported CoGa was prepared simply by reduction of Co and Ga-containing layered double hydroxides(CoZnGaAl-LDHs),the exposed facets of CoGa crystallites were controlled by tailoring the temperature-programmed rate in the reduction.By reducing CoZnGaAl-LDHs,CoGa(221)was exposed with a temperature-programmed rate of 5℃/min under the induction of ZnO lattice,while CoGa(110)was exposed with a rate of 10℃/min.

Low temperature one-pot synthesis of 1,1-diethoxyethane from ethanol on Bi/BiCeO_(x)with strong metal-support interactions

The direct conversion of ethanol to 1,1-diethoxyethane(DEE)through one-pot dehydrogenation-acetalization has attracted broad interest from both academia and industry.Based on thermodynamics,the oxidative dehydrogenation of alcohol to acetaldehyde requires high temperature to activate oxygen to realize the C-H cleavage,while the acetalization of acetaldehyde with ethanol is exothermic reversible reaction favorable at low temperature.The mismatching of the reaction condition for the two consecutive steps makes it a great challenge to achieve both high ethanol conversion and high DEE selectivity.This work reports a highly efficient bi-functional catalysis by Bi/BiCeO_(x)for one-pot oxidative dehydrogenation-acetalization route from ethanol to DEE under 150℃and ambient pressure,affording a selectivity of 98.5%±0.5%to DEE at an ethanol conversion of 87.0%±1.0%.An efficient tandem catalysis has been achieved on the interfacial Bi^(δ)+-Ov-Ce^(III)sites in Bi/BiCeO_(x)established by strong metal-support interaction,in which Biδ+-Ov-sites contribute to the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol at mild temperature,and-Ov-CeIII sites to the subsequent acetalization between the generated acetaldehyde and ethanol.

NiCu bimetallic catalysts derived from layered double hydroxides for hydroconversion of n-heptane

Supported NiCu bimetallic catalysts have been produced in-situ on commercial Al_(2)O_(3)by using layered double hydroxides as precursors. The resulting catalysts show a uniform Ni and Cu distribution, thus providing good activity and selectivity in the reforming reaction of n-heptane. The catalytic performance has been found to depend on the Cu/Ni ratio, revealing the synergic catalysis between homogeneously dispersed Ni and Cu sites. The good catalysis of Ni Cu bimetallic catalysts makes it possible to partly or even completely replace Pt with NiCu bimetallic catalysts.

Research on Electromagnetic Loss Characteristics of Submarine Cables

The electromagnetic losses of submarine cables are mainly caused by the metal shielding layer to prevent the water tree effect and the armor layer that strengthens the strength of the submarine cables.While these losses cause the temperature of submarine cable to rise,and temperature variation will in turn change the conductivity of its metal layer material.In this paper,the electric-magnetic-thermal multi-physical field coupling of the electromagnetic loss variation of the submarine cable is realized by establishing a full coupling system containing Fourier’s law and Maxwell-Ampère’s Law for the photoelectric composite submarine cable.The multi-physical field coupling model is solved and analyzed by using the finite elementmethod.Firstly,the loss of each layer of the optoelectronic composite submarine cable is analyzed,and the lossof eachlayer of the submarine cable and themainfactors leading to the loss of the submarine cable are given.Secondly,the influence of environmental temperature,ampacity and armor layer on the electromagnetic loss of submarine cables is studied,and the main operating factors affecting the electromagnetic loss of submarine cables are summarized.The research shows that the influence of ambient temperature can be ignored,and the loss of shielding layer and armor layer increases with the increase of ampacity,but the impact of shielding layer loss is greater.Finally,this paper studies the electromagnetic loss of each metal layer of the submarine cable and the influence of the laying spacing on the electromagnetic loss.The research results show that the two ways of improving the conductivity of the armor layer and reducing the relative permeability of the armor layer can effectively reduce the loss of each metal layer in the cable structure and increase the current carrying capacity when the tensile strength of the armor layer meets the requirements for single-core and threecore photoelectric composite submarine cables laid horizontally.At the same time,increasing the laying spacing will incr

Nowadays,cloud computing has been identified as new opportunities for migrating to the expected agility,reuse,and adaptive capabilities that can support the ever changing IT trends and requirements.Unfortunately,the rapid evolution of those technologies also comes with open issues such as security,privacy,integrity,quality of services,and their possible detrimental consequences.In this work,the concept of insurance is introduced to compensate the cloud computing customers when encountering those failures if service providers(SPs)have insurance purchased.Particularly,we consider the situation when the insurer is unable to see the system failure risk levels of the SPs,which is usually seen as an incomplete information market,in contrast with the optimal situation in a complete information market.First,an insurance-based cloud computing architecture is proposed to build a monetary credit system in which the cloud computing SP pays a premium for a certain coverage to the insurer.Subsequently,problem is formulated to solve the optimal insurance plan in complete and incomplete information markets,together with detail analysis of insurance policies in both cases are provided.Furthermore,simulation results show the properties of the two insurance plans and parameters that affect the design of the insurance plan.

Mussel-inspired Methacrylic Gelatin-dopamine/Ag Nanoparticles/Graphene Oxide Hydrogels with Improved Adhesive and Antibacterial Properties for Applications as Wound Dressings

A novel strategy was developed to prepare the methacrylic gelatin-dopamine(GelMA-DA)/Ag nanoparticles(NPs)/graphene oxide(GO) composite hydrogels with good biocompatibility,mechanical properties,and antibacterial activity.Mussel-inspired DA was utilized to modify the GelMA molecules,which imparts good adhesive performance to the hydrogels.GO,interfacial enhancer,not only improves mechanical properties of the hydrogels,but also provides anchor sites for loading Ag NPs through numerous oxygencontaining functional groups on the surface.The experimental results show that the GelMA/Ag NPs/GO hydrogels have good biocompatibility,and exhibit a swelling rate of 202±16%,the lap shear strength of 147±17 kPa,and compressive modulus of 136±53 kPa,in the case of the Ag NPs/GO content of 2 mg/mL.Antibacterial activity of the hydrogels against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria is dependent on the Ag NPs/GO content derived from the release of Ag^(+).Furthermore,the GelMA/Ag NPs/GO hydrogels possess good adhesive ability,which is resistant to highly twisted state when stuck on the surface of pigskin.These results demonstrate promising potential of the GelMA-DA/Ag NPs/GO hydrogels as wound dressings for biomedical applications in clinical and emergent treatment.

Herein,we report a borane-promoted reductive deoxygenation coupling reaction to synthesize sulfides.This reaction features excellent functional group compatibility,high efficiency,broad substrate scope,and application in late-stage functionalization of biomolecules.Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest diaryl sulfides are the intermediates of this reaction.Moreover,the real active aryl sulfide anions may be generated in situ with the aid of B2pin2 and react with alkyl tosylates through a concerted SN2 pathway.

Background Free-viewpoint video(FVV)is processed video content in which viewers can freely select the viewing position and angle.FVV delivers an improved visual experience and can also help synthesize special effects and virtual reality content.In this paper,a complete FVV system is proposed to interactively control the viewpoints of video relay programs through multimedia terminals such as computers and tablets.Methods The hardware of the FVV generation system is a set of synchronously controlled cameras,and the software generates videos in novel viewpoints from the captured video using view interpolation.The interactive interface is designed to visualize the generated video in novel viewpoints and enable the viewpoint to be changed interactively.Results Experiments show that our system can synthesize plausible videos in intermediate viewpoints with a view range of up to 180°.
