Deformation at the Easternmost Altyn Tagh Fault: Constraints on the Growth of the Northern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau

How the Altyn Tagh fault(ATF) extends eastwards is one of the key questions in the study of the growth of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. Detailed fieldwork at the easternmost part of the ATF shows that the ATF extends eastward and bypasses the Kuantan Mountain;it does not stop at the Kuantan Mountain, but connects with the northern Heishan fault in the east. The ATF does not enter the Alxa Block but extends eastward along the southern Alxa Block to the Jintanan Mountain. The Heishan fault is not a thrust fault but a sinistral strike-slip fault with a component of thrusting and is a part of the ATF. Further to the east, the Heishan fault may connect with the Jintananshan fault. A typical strike-slip duplex develops in the easternmost part of the ATF. The cut and deformed Quaternary sediments and displaced present gullies along the easternmost ATF indicate that it is an active fault. The local highest Mountain(i.e., the Kuantan Mountain) in the region forms in a restraining bend of the ATF due to the thrusting and uplifting. The northward growth of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau and the active deformation in South Mongolia are realized by sinistral strike-slipping on a series of NE–SW-trending faults and thrusting in restraining bends along the strike-slip faults with the northeastward motion of blocks between these faults.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a common inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has long been used in Asia as a treatment for UC and Puerariae Radix (PR) is a reliable anti-diarrheal therapy. The aims of this study were to investigate the protective effect of PR using the dextran sulfate sodium salt (DSS)-induced UC model in mice and identify molecular mechanisms of PR action. The chemical constituents of PR via ultra-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry and identified potential PR and UC targets using a network pharmacology (NP) approach were obtained to guide mouse experiments. A total of 180 peaks were identified from PR including 48 flavonoids， 46 organic acids， 14 amino acids， 8 phenols， 8 carbohydrates， 7 alkaloids， 6 coumarins and 43 other constituents. NP results showed that caspase-1 was the most dysregulated of the core genes associated with UC. A PR dose of 0.136 mg/g administered to DSS treated mice reversed weight loss and decreased colon lengths found in UC mice. PR also alleviated intestinal mucosal shedding， inflammatory cell infiltration and mucin loss. PR treatment suppressed upregulation of NLRP3， caspase-1， ASC and GSDMD at both the protein and mRNA expression levels. The addition of a small molecule dual-specificity phosphatase inhibitor NSC 95397 inhibited the positive effects of PR. These results indicated that PR exerts a protective effect on DSS-induced colitis by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation in mice.

Averrhoa carambola is commonly known as star fruit because of its peculiar shape,and its fruit is a rich source of minerals and vitamins.It is also used in traditional medicines in countries such as India,China,the Philippines,and Brazil for treating various ailments,including fever,diarrhea,vomiting,and skin disease.Here,we present the first draft genome of the Oxalidaceae family,with an assembled genome size of 470.51 Mb.In total,24,726 protein-coding genes were identified,and 16,490 genes were annotated using various well-known databases.The phylogenomic analysis confirmed the evolutionary position of the Oxalidaceae family.Based on the gene functional annotations,we also identified enzymes that may be involved in important nutritional pathways in the star fruit genome.Overall,the data from this first sequenced genome in the Oxalidaceae family provide an essential resource for nutritional,medicinal,and cultivational studies of the economically important star-fruit plant.

OBJECTIVE Exposure toarsenite(As) or fluoride(F) through contaminated drinking water has been reported to be associated with chronic heart disease in humans;Autophagy is a regulated mechanism ubiquitous for the body in a toxic environment with As and F. However, the underlying mechanisms of autophagy in the single or combined cardiotoxicity of As and F is unclear. In this study,we tested the toxic effects caused by sub-chronic exposure to high-dose arsenite, fluoride, or their combination on cardiotoxicity injury. We explore how autophagy participates in the process of cardiotoxicity induced by arsenite and/or fluoride exposure, which contribute to theoretical basis for clarify the mechanism of the cardiotoxicity in offspring. METHODS In the present study, we established a rat model of prenatal and postnatal exposure to F and As with the aim to investigate the mechanism underlying heart toxicity of these pol utants in offspring. Rats were randomly divided into four groups that received Na F(100 mg·L),NaAsO2(50 mg·L), or NaF(100 mg·L) with NaAsO2(50 mg·L) in drinking water or clean water during pregnancy and lactation;after weaning, pups were exposed to the same treatment as their mothers until puberty. The offspring rats were exposed to three months, we tested cardiac function indicators:blood pressure, heart rate, electrocardiogram and echocardiography. We collected biological samples:serum, blood, femur, and heart tissue. We performed histopathological observation of rat heart tissue(light microscope and electron microscopy). The activity of myocardial enzymes CK and LDH were detected in serum, and detected oxidative stress related indicators(SOD, MDA, GSH-PX) and ATPase enzyme in tissues. The distribution and expression of autophagosomes in cardiac tissues were observed and detected by electron microscopy, qRT-PCR and Western-blot. On the basis of the taphonomy, osteological anatomy and ontogenetic variation, Zhuchengosaurus maximus zhao et al., 2007 is considered to be synonymic with Shantungosaurus giganteus Hu, 1973 herein. This paper also deals with the life behavior of S. giganteus and the environment in which S. giganteus lived. S. giganteus is considered to be a terrestrial and gregarious herbivorous dinosaur and lived in hills and intervales in warm weather with plentiful rain and flourishing vegetation.

Although the modeling technologies for open robot controllers have been discussed widely, not much literature is devoted to the actual general modeling principles and strategies. The reason is that many researches focus on specific application fields. This paper accommodates for this lacuna and provides some general modeling principles and strategies. At last, the actual new modeling method Hierarchical Object Oriented Petri net (HOONet) which has been proved to be an effective modeling methodology, is used to illustrate the modeling strategies.

我国正在大力推进建设城市群都市圈轨道交通一体化,促进轨道交通“四网融合”发展,但现有文献大多还停留在定性分析“四网融合”的实施方法,缺少对如何实现“四网融合”的系统量化研究。笔者以市域(郊)铁路与其他轨道交通的融合模式为研究对象,以融合模式的选择为研究目的,提出了融合模式,并根据技术条件、客流特征、经济效益等因素进行技术融合模式选择的两阶段决策方法,并以西宁—青海湖—茶卡(察汗诺)铁路为例进行案例分析,以期在轨道交通规划过程中为更好地实现融合提供思路。研究验证了两阶段决策方法的可行性,得出西青茶铁路与青藏铁路西格段采用过轨运营模式进行融合的结论。
