3D Foam-Based MXene Architectures:Structural and Electrolytic Engineering for Advanced Potassium-Ion Storage

MXenes are emerging rapidly as promising electrode materials for energy storage due to their high electronic conductivity and rich surface chemistry,but their potassium storage performance is unsatisfactory because of the large size of K^(+)and irreversible interfacial ***,a developed 3D foam-like MXene scaffold(3D-FMS)is constructed via an electrostatic neutralization of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)with positive-charged melamine followed with calcination,which offers massive surface-active sites and facilitates fast K^(+)transfer for boosting the potassium-ion storage capacity and *** addition,using KFSI-based electrolyte,the formation of a robust solid electrolyte interface layer with more inorganic components on MXene anode is revealed for enhancing the Coulombic ***,the 3DFMS with KFSI-based electrolyte delivers enhanced potassium-ion storage performance in terms of capacity(161.4 mAh g^(-1)at 30 mA g^(-1)),rate capability(70 mAh g^(-1)at 2 A g^(-1)),and cycling stability(80.5 mAh g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1)after 2000 cycles).Moreover,the assembled 3D-FMS//activated carbon potassium-ion hybrid supercapacitor delivers a high energy density of 57 Wh kg^(-1)at a power density of 290 W kg^(-1).These excellent performances demonstrate the great superiority of 3D-FMS in KFSI-based electrolyte and may accelerate the development of MXene-based materials for potassium storage systems.

Responses of Saline Soil Properties and Cotton Growth to Different Organic Amendments

Application of organic waste to saline alkaline soils is considered to be a good practice for soil remediation. The effects of applying different organic amendments （e.g., cattle dung, vermicompost, biofertilizer） and earthworm inoculations （Eisenia fetida） on saline soils and cotton growth were investigated during i year of cotton cultivation. Compared to the control （applied with inorganic NPK fertilizer）, applying organic amendments improved soil physicochemical properties. Biofertilizer application improved available nutrient content, reduced short-term soil electrical conductivity, and produced the highest cotton yield, whereas cattle dung and vermicompost applications resulted in higher soil organic matter content. Application of organic amendments significantly increased soil microbial biomass carbon during the flowering period, which sharply declined at harvest. This was especially true for the biofertilizer treatment, which also exhibited lower nematode abundance compared with the other organic materials. Earthworm inoculation following cattle dung application failed to significantly change soil physicochemical properties when compared to the treatments without earthworm inoculation. Results suggest that biofertilizer application to saline soil would improve soil nutrient status in the short-term, whereas cattle dung application would improve soil organic matter content and increase soil organism abundance to a greater extent. However, different strategies might be required for long-term saline soil remediation.

A Robust Step-Size Control Technique Based on Proportionate Constraints on Filter Update for Acoustic Echo Cancellation

Retrieval of global terrestrial solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence from TanSat satellite

The first Chinese Carbon Dioxide Observation Satellite Mission(TanSat), which was launched on December 21, 2016, is intended to measure atmospheric CO_2 *** high spectral resolution(0.044 nm) and high SNR(360 at 15.2 mW m^(-1) sr^(-1) nm^(-1)) measurements in the region of the O_2-A band of the Atmospheric Carbon dioxide Grating Spectroradiometer(AGCS) module onboard TanSat make it possible to retrieve solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence(SIF) from TanSat observations at the global *** paper aims to explore the potential of the TanSat data for global SIF retrieval.A singular vector decomposition(SVD) statistical method was employed to retrieve SIF using radiance over a micro spectral window(～2 nm) around the Fe Fraunhofer lines(centered at 758.8 nm).The global SIF at 758.8 nm was successfully retrieved with a low residual error of 0.03 mW m^(-1) sr^(-1) nm^(-1).The results show that the spatial and temporal patterns of the retrieved SIF agree well with the global terrestrial vegetation *** monthly SIF products retrieved from the TanSat data were compared with other remote sensing datasets, including OCO-2 SIF, MODIS NDVI, EVI and *** overall consistency between TanSat and OCO-2 SIF products(R^2= 0.86) and the consistency of the spatial patterns and temporal variations between the TanSat SIF and MODIS vegetation indices and GPP enhance our confidence in the potential and feasibility of TanSat data for SIF ***, therefore, provides a new opportunity for global sampling of SIF at fine spatial resolution(2 km × 2 km), thus improving photosynthesis observations from space.

Serum Iron Overload Activates the SMAD Pathway and Hepcidin Expression of Hepatocytes via SMURF1

Background and Aims:Liver iron overload can induce hepatic expression of bone morphogenic protein(BMP)6 and activate the BMP/SMAD ***,serum iron overload can also activate SMAD but does not induce BMP6 ***,the mechanisms through which serum iron overload activates the BMP/SMAD pathway remain *** study aimed to clarify the role of SMURF1 in serum iron overload and the BMP/SMAD ***:A cell model of serum iron overload was established by treating hepatocytes with 2 mg/mL of holo-transferrin(Holo-Tf).A serum iron overload mouse model and a liver iron overload mouse model were established by intraperitoneally injecting 10 mg of Holo-Tf into C57BL/6 mice and administering a high-iron diet for 1 week followed by a low-iron diet for 2 *** blotting and real-time PCR were performed to evaluate the activation of the BMP/SMAD pathway and the expression of ***:Holo-Tf augmented the sensitivity and responsiveness of hepatocytes to *** E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase SMURF1 mediated Holo-Tf-induced SMAD1/5 activation and hepcidin expression;specifically,SMURF1 expression dramatically decreased when the serum iron concentration was ***,the expression of SMURF1 substrates,which are important molecules involved in the transduction of BMP/SMAD signaling,was significantly ***,in vivo analyses confirmed that SMURF1 specifically regulated the BMP/SMAD pathway during serum iron ***:SMURF1 can specifically regulate the BMP/SMAD pathway by augmenting the responsiveness of hepatocytes to BMPs during serum iron overload.

Enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production under visible light of an organic-inorganic hybrid material based on enzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene polymer and TiO_(2)

Titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))has been limited in photocatalysis due to its wide band gap(3.2 eV)and limited absorption in the ultraviolet ***,organic components have been introduced to hybrid with TiO_(2) for enhanced photocatalytic efficiency under visible ***,we report that benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene polymer was an ideal organic material for the preparation of a hybrid material with TiO_(2).The energy band gap of the resulting hybrid material decreased to 2.9 eV and the photocatalytic hydrogen production performance reached 745.0μmol g^(-1) h^(-1) under visible light ***,the material still maintained the stability of hydrogen production performance after 40 h of photocatalytic *** analysis of the transient current response and electrochemical impedance revealed that the main reasons for the enhanced water splitting of the hybrid materials were the faster separation of electron hole pairs and the lower recombination of photocarrier *** findings suggest that polythiophene is a promising organic material for exploring hybrid materials with enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production.

To study the influence of texture on Hall-Petch slope,the Hall-Petch relationships of two hot-extruded AZ31 alloys(A117 and A189)were determined by the measurement of yield strength at room *** determine the real texture difference,the texture changes were facilitated by the variation of extrusion ratio and demonstrated by the actual grain orientation *** A117 alloys exhibited higher Hall-Petch slope in comparison of A187 in the condition of tension and compression,because A117 alloys had lower volume fraction of grains in the range of basal pole 75°-90°.The Hall-Petch slope differences for both alloys were analyzed and discussed by boundary obstacle against deformation propagation in grains with various *** to the higher volume fraction of grains in the range of basal pole 75°-90°in A189,the effect of hindering dislocation slip or twinning propagation by grains boundary was weaker than of A117.

Mitsugumin 53 protects the kidney from severe burn injury in mice

Mitsugumin 53 (MG53), a newly identified muscle-specific protein, is an essential component of the cell membrane repair machinery in skeletal and cardiac muscle. However, the role of MG53 after burns in other tissues remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the possible roles of MG53 in the protection of the kidney after severe burn injury, and an animal scalding model of 30% of total body surface area (TBSA) was used. Recombinant human MG53 (rhMG53) or bovine serum albumin (BSA) was injected intravenously via the tail vein. Data showed that the mortality in the MG53-treated group was lower than that in control group. Administration of rhMG53 may alleviate histological alterations in renal tubular epithelial cells after burn injury. Renal tubular injury scores and the average optical density score of kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) immunohistochemical staining in the MG53-treated group were significantly lower than those in control group (P < 0.001). Exogenous rhMG53 was found to be located in renal tubular epithelial cells. Numerous polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF) were expressed in the mouse kidney after severe scalding. In conclusion, our data indicate that MG53 protein protects the kidney by involving local PTRF after severe burn injury.

Unveiling the effect of amino acids on the crystallization pathways of methylammonium lead iodide perovskites

Multifunctional additives are widely used to improve crystallization and to passivate defects in perovskite solar cells. The roles of these additives are usually related to the various functional groups contained in such additives. Here, we introduce a serious of analogues of amino acids into methylammonium lead iodide perovskites and find they play different roles in the crystallization process despite the fact that these additives share exactly the same terminal groups, namely one amino group and one carboxyl group. The corresponding crystallization pathways are established for the first time via monitoring the time-resolved phase formation and transformation. We find that avoiding the rapid formation of perovskites from precursor solution can facilitate the uniform nucleation and growth of perovskite crystals with enhanced crystallinity and reduced defects. Further, we find the different crystallization behaviors probably arise from the inherent structural characteristic of these additives, leading to different interactions in the precursors. This study unveils the effects of amino acids on the liquid–solid crystallization process and helps better understand the role of multifunctional additives beyond their functional groups.
