Characterization of bubble behaviors in a dense phase pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed for dry coal processing

Pulsed gas-solid fluidized beds can effectively separate fine coal,and bubbles play an important role in creating suitable separation *** present study performed statistical and image analyses of the evolution of bubbles in a two-dimensional pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed using a high-speed dynamic *** effects of apparent gas velocity,pulsation frequency and particle size on bubble characteristics and bed expansi on were *** results indicate that,when a fluctuation freque ncy is added,the expa nsion height of the bed in creases,the effect of attachme nt to the bed wall decreases,the leading diameter and rising velocity of the bubbles both decrease and the degree of bubble deformation *** trends are also more obvious for fine *** findings dem on strate that a high density pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed can effectively combine gases and solids to produce a uniform,stable *** bubble diameter and rising velocity were also simulated in the present work,and the relationship between the two was established using a fitting model with an error within 5%.This model provides an effective means of predicting bubble velocity as well as studying the distribution of the bubble phase and improving the stability of the bed density.

Pogostemon cablin essential oil(PEO),extracted from ***,has anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory,and anti-stress properties,as well as the ability to improve gastrointestinal *** study aims to evaluate the effects of PEO on the performance,rumen epithelial morphology,and barrier function in heat-stressed beef ***-six male Jingjiang cattle at 18 months old were randomly assigned into four groups and fed a diet containing PEO at 0(control),50,100,or 150 mg/kg in the feed concentrate(n=9).All experimental cattle were fed under high temperature and humidity in summer for 60 *** results indicated that 50 mg/kg of PEO treatment enhanced the average daily gain of beef cattle compared with the control group(P=0.032).All PEO treatments reduced the diamine oxidase activity(P=0.004)and malondialdehyde content(P=0.008)in *** addition,the content of 70 kDa heat shock protein in the 100 mg/kg group was increased,and the activity of glutathione peroxidase and total antioxidant capacity in both 100 mg/kg and 150 mg/kg groups were enhanced compared to the control group(Plia but decreased the mRNA relative expressions of c-Jun N-terminal kinase,P38 mitogen-activated protein kinases,caspase-3,Beclin1(Plined the mRNA relative expressions of extracellular regulated protein kinases and ubiquitin-binding protein in contrast to the control group(Plium of heat-stressed cattle by down-regulating the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the mechanism by which Tongqiao Yizhi granule(通窍益智颗粒,TQYZKL)intervenes pyroptosis to treat vascular dementia(VaD)in a rat ***:The rat model of VaD was established by two-vessel occlusion(2VO).The rats were randomly divided into Sham group,Model group,Nimodipine group,TQYZKL(6.2 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)),TQYZKL(12.4 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)),TQYZKL(24.8 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)).The Morris water maze(MWM)test was carried out to test the learning and memory function;Hematoxylin-eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)to observe the pathological damage in the hippocampus;Tunel fluorescence staining to detect neuronal pyroptosis in the *** expression levels of pyroptosis-related proteins,namely Golgi peripheral membrane protein p65(P65),nucleotide oligomerization domain-like receptors 3(NLRP3),caspase-1 and Gasdermin D(GSDMD),were detected using Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain ***,the serum levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-18(IL-18)were determined through the enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The study revealed that TQYZKL effectively improved the ability of VaD ratsto learn and memorize,relieved the pathological damage in the hippocampus,restored neuronal morphology,and reduced the expression of pyroptosis-related proteins P65,NLRP3,caspase-1,GSDMD-N,IL-18 and IL-1β(Pling pathway,thus exerting a therapeutic effect on VaD in the rats.

Dear Editor,Human monkeypox(MPX),an endemic disease in equatorial Africa,1 has been causing outbreaks in non-endemic countries since early May ***,many confirmed cases have no history of travel to *** is the first time many MPX cases have been reported concurrently in both non-endemic and endemic countries in disparate geographical areas.2 In response,we have analyzed 27 genes or sequences from 643 full-length human monkeypox virus(MPXV)genomes collected after January 1 and submitted by August 7,2022(Supplementary Table 1).We divided these 643 genomes into 24 clusters with a 95%identity threshold(Supplementary Table 2).

Brain size and cognitive skills are the most dramatically changed traits in humans during evolution and yet the genetic mechanisms underlying these human-specific changes remain elusive. Here, we successfully generated 11 transgenic rhesus monkeys(8 first-generation and 3 second-generation) carrying human copies of MCPH1, an important gene for brain development and brain evolution. Brain-image and tissue-section analyses indicated an altered pattern of neural-cell differentiation, resulting in a delayed neuronal maturation and neural-fiber myelination of the transgenic monkeys, similar to the known evolutionary change of developmental delay(neoteny) in humans. Further brain-transcriptome and tissue-section analyses of major developmental stages showed a marked human-like expression delay of neuron differentiation and synaptic-signaling genes, providing a molecular explanation for the observed brain-developmental delay of the transgenic monkeys. More importantly, the transgenic monkeys exhibited better short-term memory and shorter reaction time compared with the wild-type controls in the delayed-matching-to-sample task. The presented data represent the first attempt to experimentally interrogate the genetic basis of human brain origin using a transgenic monkey model and it values the use of non-human primates in understanding unique human traits.

[Objective]The paper was to obtain a pathogen-inducible responsive gene TcREMORIN from Taxus chinesis.[Method]Total RNA was extracted by Trizol reagent,and cDNA was synthesized using TaKaRa reverse transcription kit and Invitrogen M-MLV Reverse Transcriptase *** TcREMORIN gene was amplified by qRT-PCR.[Result]The full length of TcREMORIN was 778 bp with a 501 bp open reading frame(ORF)which encoded 166 amino *** analysis indicated that TcREMORIN possessed a conserved domain of remorin family genes and located probably in cell plasma *** results of real-time quantitative PCR assay revealed that the target gene was induced by anthracnose of *** and its expression level was up-regulated by PEG,NaCl,H2O2 and 4℃stresses.[Conclusion]The TcREMORIN gene may play a critical role in plant-pathogen interaction.

Heavy metal pollution is common in resource-based ***,the morphological,physiological and biochemical mechanisms of plants transmitting environmental information to their offspring in environments polluted by heavy metals have not been studied *** soybean,an annual self-pollinated plant in Huang-Huai-Hai region,as the research object,the morphological,physiological and biochemical indexes and heavy metal enrichment and distribution characteristics of plants under heavy metal stress were monitored continuously for about three generations,and the trans-generational differences of soybean reproduction,vegetative growth,stress resistance and life cycle in heavy metal stress environment were *** results will be helpful to better understand the long-term adaptive strategy of plants to heavy metal stress and provide the theory basis for ecological security of soybean and other crops under heavy metal stress.

Phylogenetic Structure of Low Altitude Forest Communities in Baotianman Mountain

[Objectives]The paper was to reveal the phylogenetic structure of low altitude forest communities in Baotianman Mountain.[Methods]Ten 20 m×20 m plots were set at an altitude of 249-796 m in Baotianman Nature Reserve,in which 62 plant species were found.A phylogenetic tree was established on Phylomatic website,and the community related phylogenetic indexes at low altitude were calculated and analyzed,including net relatedness index(NRI),nearest taxon index(NTI),phylogenetic diversity Faith's PD index,phylogeneticβdiversity PhyloSor index and Dnn index.[Results]The NTI and NRI values of low altitude forest communities were generally greater than 0,showing phylogenetically clustered communities,and habitat filtration was the dominant factor in community *** with the species abundance matrix of plots,it was found that PD index had a significantly positive correlation with species ***βdiversity PhyloSor index was larger in the lower altitude area,which was exactly opposite to Dnn *** other words,the more similar the community,the closer the distance between species,and the communities were phylogenetically clustered.[Conclusions]The study can provide a scientific basis for forest community management and restoration.

Characteristics of Soil Seed Banks of Typical Plant Communities in Hilly Area of Funiu Mountain

[Objectives]The purpose was to investigate the characteristics of soil seed bank of typical plant communities in hilly area of Funiu Mountain.[Methods]The seed density,number of species and species composition of the soil seed bank of typical plant communities such as Themeda japonica,Imperata cylindrica,Vitex negundo,Quercus acutissima,Robinia pseudoacacia,Platycladus orientalis and Populus canadensis in the surface,top 0-5 and top 5-10 cm soil were studied.[Results]The seed reserves of plant communities at different succession stages were(220.00±95.39)–(2650.00±1064.52)seeds/m2.A total of 48 species were counted in the seed bank,belonging to 45 genera in 22 *** 27 species were identified in the above-ground vegetation,belonging to 25 genera in 14 *** the shallow soil where the seeds gathered,the seed densities of Imperata cylindrica and Themeda japonica were relatively *** reserves of plant communities with different naturalness degrees were(403.33±64.29)-(2110.00±356.79)seeds/m2.A total of 67 species were counted in the seed bank,belonging to 64 genera in 37 families.A total of 45 species were identified in the above-ground vegetation,belonging to 43 genera in 28 *** the soil layers of 0-5 and 5-10 cm,the seed density of natural secondary *** was higher than those of planted ***,*** and *** each soil layer,the species number of natural secondary *** forest was slightly smaller than those of planted ***,*** and *** forests.[Conclusions]The seeds in the soil seed bank may not completely come from existing above-ground *** assistance is required for vegetation restoration or reconstruction relying on soil seed bank,to ensure the direction of community succession.
