Carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions from the cement industry account for 26%of the total industrial emissions,and the need to develop low-carbon techniques within the cement industry is extremely ***-carbon projects and technologies for the cement industry in different regions and countries have been thoroughly reviewed in this manuscript,and the low-carbon development concept for each county has been *** developing countries such as China and India,energy saving and efficiency enhancement are currently the key points,while for developed countries and regions such as Europe,more efforts have been focused on carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS).Global CCUS projects have been previously conducted,and the majority of CCUS projects are currently performed in Europe where major projects such as the CEMCAP,CLEANKER,and IEILAC projects represent the latest research progress in cement production technologies and low-carbon technologies for the global cement *** development of low-carbon cement technologies has changed from focusing on the end point to instead focusing on the source and process through the exploration of hydrogen and solar energies,and more disruptive and original technologies are expected to be developed,particularly in the cement industry in China.

Radon(Rn)and helium(He)gases from uranium decay form distinct anomalies related to buried uranium *** order to trace the geochemical anomalous sources from the volcanic-related uranium deposits in deeply buried areas,systematical Rn contents and He isotope ratios were analyzed from the Daguanchang uranium *** soil gas Rn concentrations above the deep uranium are ten times higher than those in barren areas,indicating that instantaneous Rn content measurements can be used to detect deeply buried *** helium isotope ratios(^(3)He/^(4)He)of the unmineralized samples from the mineralized drill hole(ZK1.are relatively lower and uniform compared to those of the samples from no-mineral drill hole(ZK2).However,the Th and U contents of the drill core samples from ZK1.are slightly lower than those of the samples from ZK2,indicating that the lower 3He/4He ratios in ZK1.are most likely due to the addition of 4He from underlying uranium *** differences in the instantaneous Rn contents are consistent with the variations in the He isotope ratios of the drill core *** results demonstrate that soil gas Rn and ^(3)He/^(4)He ratios are useful tracers and can indicate the existence of deeply buried volcanic-related hydrothermal uranium ores.

Seasonal prediction of extreme high-temperature days over the Yangtze River basin

Extreme high temperatures occur frequently over the densely populated Yangtze River basin(YRB)in China during summer,significantly impacting the local economic development and ecological ***,accurate prediction of extreme high-temperature days in this region remains a ***,the Climate Forecast System Version 2(CFSv2)exhibits poor performance in this ***,based on the interannual increment approach,we develop a hybrid seasonal prediction model over the YRB(HM_(YRB))to improve the prediction of extreme high-temperature days in *** HM_(YRB)relies on the following four predictors:the observed preceding April-May snowmelt in north western Europe;the snow depth in March over the central Siberian Plateau;the CFSv2-forecasted concurrent summer sea surface temperatures around the Maritime Continent;and the 200-hPa geopotential height over the Tibetan *** HM_(YRB)indicates good capabilities in predicting the interannual variability and trend of extreme high-temperature days,with a markable correlation coefficient of 0.58 and a percentage of the same sign(PSS)of 76% during 1.83-201. in the one-year-out ***,the HM_(YRB) maintains high PSS skill(86%)and robustness in the independent prediction period(201.-2022).Furthermore,the HM_(YRB) shows a good performance for years with high occurrence of extreme high-temperature days,with a hit ratio of 40%.These predictors used in HM_(YRB)are beneficial in terms of the prediction skill for the average daily maximum temperature in summer over the YRB,albeit with biases existing in the *** study provides promising insights into the prediction of 2022-like hot extremes over the YRB in China.

Drawing on the implementation of the compliance management guidelines issued by China’s SASACs,we construct a quasi-natural experiment to examine the impact of the implementation of these guidelines on the investment efficiency of *** investment efficiency of SOEs is significantly improved after the implementation of the *** impact is more pronounced on SOEs with significant financing constraints,high financing requirements and intense competition in the product *** also find that the guidelines improve efficiency investment by reducing management’s risk appetite,mitigating the Type I agency problems and enhancing the level of internal *** conclusions indicate that compliance management is an important strategy for enhancing the investment efficiency of SOEs.

Enhanced nitrate removal from groundwater using a conductive spacer in flow-electrode capacitive deionization

Flow-electrode capacitive deionization(FCDI)represents a promising approach for ion separation from aqueous ***,the optimization of spacer,particularly for nitrate-contaminated groundwa-ter systems,has often been *** research comprehensively investigates the influence of using a conductive(carbon cloth,CC)spacer on nitrate removal performance within FCDI system,comparing it to a non-conductive(nylon net,NN)*** both CC and NN FCDI systems,it is unsurprisingly that nitrate removal efficiency improved notably with the increasing current density and hydraulic retention time(HRT).Interestingly,the specific energy consumption(SEC)for nitrate removal did not show obvious fluctuations when the current density and HRT varied in both *** the auspiciously optimized process parameters,CC-FCDI attained a 20%superior nitrate removal efficiency relative to NN-FCDI,ac-companied by a notably diminished SEC for CC-FCDI,registering at a mere 28%of *** great improvement can be primarily attributed to the decrement in FCDI internal resistance after using con-ductive spacer,which further confirmed by electrochemical tests such as linear sweep voltammetry(LSV)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).Upon prolonged continuous nitrate removal at the optimized conditions,the CC-FCDI system achieved a consistent 90%nitrate removal efficiency with a low SEC of 2.7-7.8 kWh/kg NO_(3)-N,underscoring its steady ***,this study highlights the pivotal importance of careful spacer design and optimization in realizing energy-efficient groundwater treatment via FCDI.

Oxide-supported metal single-atom catalysts(SACs)have exhibited excellent catalytic performance for water-gas shift(WGS)***,we report the single-atom catalyst Pt1.FeOx exhibits excellent medium temperature catalytic performance for WGS reactions by the density functional theory(DFT)calculations and experimental *** calculations indicate that H_(2)O molecules are easily dissociated at oxygen vacancies,and the formed*OH and*O are adsorbed on Pt1.single atoms and the adjacent O atoms,*** studying four possible reaction mechanisms,it is found that the optimal WGS reaction pathway is proceeded along the carboxyl mechanism(pathway III),in which the formation of*COOH intermediates can promote the stability of Pt_(1./FeO_(x) SAC and the easier occurrence of WGS *** energy barrier of the rate-determining step during the entire reaction cycle is only 1.1. eV,showing the high activity for the medium temperature WGS reaction on Pt_(1./FeO_(x) SAC,which was verified by experimental ***,the calculated turnover frequencies(TOFs)of CO_(2)and H_(2)formation on Pt1.FeOx at 61. Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks(HOFs)are a recent class of porous materials that have garnered considerable research interest owing to their distinctive *** can be constructed through judicious selection of H-bonding motifs,which are further enforced by other weak intermolecular interactions such asπ–πstacking,van der Waals forces,and framework *** advantage of these interactions,we can expand the functional field of HOFs by introducing active ***,researchers have made substantial advancements in using HOFs for chemical sensing,catalysis,proton conduction,biological applications,and *** low bonding energy of H-bonds allows for precise control over the concentration of ligands in solvents,forming diverse HOF *** varied structures offer significant advantages for producing HOFs with photo-responsive and electro-responsive ***,the presence of H-bonds in HOFs results in their inherent lower stability compared to metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and covalent-organic frameworks(COFs)formed via coordination and covalent bonds,*** a result,the pursuit of stable and innovative HOF materials with novel functional sites remains an ongoing *** review provides an overview of recent research progress in the development of new strategies for stable HOF synthesis and applications of HOFs with stimuli-responsive *** first classified all synthetic methods reported to date and discussed the stable HOFs synthesized,as well as their unique properties and *** addition,we summarized the applications of HOFs utilizing their synergistic responses to external stimuli,including photo,electrical,pressure,and chemical *** systematically reviewed stable HOF synthesis and applications,which may lead to a deeper understanding of the structure–activity relationship for these materials and guide future HOF design.
