Environmental exposure to perchlorate,nitrate,and thiocyanate in relation to chronic kidney disease in the general US population,NHANES 2005-2016

Background:Few studies have explored the impact of perchlorate,nitrate,and thiocyanate(PNT)on kidney function.This study aimed to evaluate the association of urinary levels of PNT with renal function as well as the prevalence of chronic kidney disease(CKD)among the general population in the United States.Methods:This analysis included data from 13,373 adults(≥20 years)from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2005 to 2016.We used multivariable linear and logistic regression,to explore the associations of urinary PNT with kidney function.Restricted cubic splines were used to assess the potentially non-linear relationships between PNT exposure and outcomes.Results:After traditional creatinine adjustment,perchlorate(P-traditional)was positively associated with estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)(adjustedβ:2.75;95%confidence interval[CI]:2.25 to 3.26;P<0.001),and negatively associated with urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio(ACR)(adjustedβ:-0.05;95%CI:-0.07 to-0.02;P=0.001)in adjusted models.After both traditional and covariate-adjusted creatinine adjustment,urinary nitrate and thiocyanate were positively associated with eGFR(all P values<0.05),and negatively associated with ACR(all P values<0.05);higher nitrate or thiocyanate was associated with a lower risk of CKD(all P values<0.001).Moreover,there were L-shaped non-linear associations between nitrate,thiocyanate,and outcomes.In the adjusted models,for quartiles of PNT,statistically significant dose-response associations were observed in most relationships.Most results were consistent in the stratified and sensitivity analyses.Conclusions:Exposures to PNT might be associated with kidney function,indicating a potential beneficial effect of environmental PNT exposure(especially nitrate and thiocyanate)on the human kidney.

Lead-free inorganic copper-silver-bismuth-halide materials have attracted more and more attention due to their environmental friendliness,high element abundance,and low cost.Here,we developed a strategy of one-step gas-solid-phase diffusioninduced reaction to fabricate a series of bandgap-tunable Cu_(a)Agm_(1)Bim_(2)I_(n)/CuI bilayer films due to the atomic diffusion effect for the first time.By designing and regulating the sputtered Cu/Ag/Bi metal film thickness,the bandgap of Cu_(a)Agm_(1)Bim_(2)I_(n)/CuI could be reduced from 2.06 to 1.78 eV.Solar cells with the structure of FTO/TiO_(2)/Cu_(a)Agm_(1)Bim_(2)I_(n)/CuI/carbon were constructed,yielding a champion power conversion efficiency of 2.76%,which is the highest reported for this class of materials owing to the bandgap reduction and the peculiar bilayer structure.The current work provides a practical path for developing the next generation of efficient,stable,and environmentally friendly photovoltaic materials.

First scanning Fabry–Perot interferometer developed in China

A scanning Fabry–Perot interferometer(SFPI)was first developed and deployed at the Langfang near Space Environment Field Scientific Observation Station(39.38°N,116.65°E)of the National Space Science Center,CAS.The instrument is designed to measure the mesospheric and thermospheric wind velocities using the atomic oxygen 557.7-nm and 630.0-nm emissions.Data from February 28 to March 3and February 28 to March 15 in 2011 were chosen for case study and mean value study,respectively.The errors of the meridional and zonal winds are 6.5 and 7.5 m/s at 557.7-nm and at 630.0-nm,they are 7.1 and 6.6 m/s,respectively.During the whole experiment,the instrument has performed in good condition and provided high-quality data.The mean neutral wind data were consistent with that predicted by HWM07.Good agreement has been found in between the SFPI and a neighbor Meridian Project Fabry–Perot interferometer(MP FPI),with a corresponding coefficient(r2)larger than 80%.In general,the scanning FPI meets the design goal,and it is a useful ground-based instrument for measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds at middle latitudes and is able to provide high-quality data for future scientific studies.

Synergistic catalysis of cluster and atomic copper induced by copper-silica interface in transfer-hydrogenation

To data,using strong metal-support interaction(SMSI)effect to improve the catalytic performance of metal catalysts is an important strategy for heterogeneous catalysis,and this effect is basically achieved by using reducible metal oxides.However,the formation of SMSI between metal and inert-support has been so little coverage and remains challenge.In this work,the SMSI effect can be effectively extended to the inert support-metal catalysis system to fabricate a Cu^(0)/Cu-doped SiO_(2) catalyst with high dispersion and loading(38.5 wt.%)through the interfacial effect of inert silica.In the catalyst,subnanometric composite of Cu cluster and atomic copper(in the configuration of Cu-O-Si)can be consciously formed on the silica interface,and verified by extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS),in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and high-angle annular dark field-scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM)characterization.The promoting activity in transfer-hydrogenation by the SMSI effect of Cu-silica interface and the synergistic active roles of cluster and atomic Cu have also been revealed from surface interface structure,catalytic activity,and density functional theory(DFT)theoretical calculation at an atomic level.The subnanometric composite of cluster and atomic copper species can be derived from a facile synthesis strategy of metal-inert support SMSI effect and the realistic active site of Cu-based catalyst can also been identified accurately,thus it will help to expand the application of subnanometric materials in industrial catalysis.

With rapid developments in the field of very large-scale integrated circuits,heat dissipation has emerged as a significant factor that restricts the high-density integration of chips.Due to their high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient,diamond/Cu composites have attracted considerable attention as a promising thermal management material.In this study,a surface tungsten carbide gradient layer coating of diamond particles has been realized using comprehensive magnetron sputtering technology and a heat treatment process.Diamond/Cu composites were prepared using high-temperature and high-pressure technology.The results show that,by adjusting the heat treatment process,tungsten carbide and di-tungsten carbide are generated by an in situ reaction at the tungsten–diamond interface,and W–WC–W_(2)C gradient layer-coated diamond particles were obtained.The diamond/Cu composites were sintered by high-temperature and high-pressure technology,and the density of surface-modified diamond/Cu composites was less than 4 g cm^(-3).The W–WC–W_(2)C@diamond/Cu composites have a thermal diffusivity as high as 331 mm^(2)s^(-1),and their thermal expansion coefficient is as low as 1.76×10^(-6)K^(-1).The interface coherent structure of the gradient layer-coated diamond/copper composite can effectively improve the interface heat transport efficiency.

Observations of thermospheric vector wind over Yellow River Station during auroral substorm events

Strong disturbances associated with auroral substorms originate from the ionosphere–magnetosphere owing to the effects of the solar wind,and the wind field in the ionosphere is related to such substorm activity.Here,we describe the analysis of four auroral substorm events,for which we employed an all-sky Fabry–Perot interferometer to observe the two-dimensional horizontal wind field and combined the results with data from an all-sky charge-coupled device imager,a fluxgate magnetometer installed at Yellow River Station,and the Super Dual Auroral Radar Network.The results demonstrate that,during auroral substorms,the vector wind field is related closely to variations in the ion drift and geomagnetic field.Moreover,we observed a changing wind field of approximately 300 m/s in response to variations in the electric and magnetic fields(likely caused by ion drag)and a disturbance of about 200 m/s that we attribute to the interaction of Joule heating and ion drag.

β相锻造加工工艺中固溶温度对Ti6242合金保载疲劳性能的影响

对Ti6242钛合金进行不同固溶温度(960,980℃)下的β相锻造加工,研究了不同固溶温度下合金的显微组织和拉伸性能,以及高峰值应力下的低周疲劳与保载疲劳性能。结果表明:不同固溶温度下β相锻造后Ti6242合金组织相似,均由网篮组织、晶内α相片层组织和羽毛状α相集束组织组成,960℃固溶温度下羽毛状α相集束多于980℃固溶温度下。与960℃固溶温度下β相锻造后相比,980℃固溶温度下β相区锻造后合金的强度较高,断后伸长率略低,低周疲劳寿命明显较低,保载疲劳敏感系数较低;980℃固溶温度下合金的保载疲劳寿命约为960℃固溶温度下的1.3倍。不同固溶温度下β相锻造后低周疲劳断口的疲劳特征明显,均由疲劳裂纹源、疲劳裂纹扩展区和瞬时断裂区组成,而保载疲劳断口均由韧窝和疲劳条带组成,呈现出一种以蠕变断裂为主、疲劳断裂为辅的断裂模式。

目的探讨弓状韧带上腰方肌阻滞复合全身麻醉在肾癌患者手术中的应用效果。方法前瞻性纳入118例肾癌患者作为研究对象,采用随机数字表法分为2组,各59例。2组患者均行腹腔镜下根治性肾切除术治疗,对照组实施全身麻醉,观察组实施弓状韧带上腰方肌阻滞复合全身麻醉。比较2组术中血流动力学(心率、平均动脉压)、苏醒后疼痛程度[采用疼痛强度数字分级法(NRS)评估]变化情况,比较2组患者术中丙泊酚、瑞芬太尼使用量及术后24 h内镇痛泵按压次数,记录2组术后不良反应发生情况。结果2组T_(0)时心率及平均动脉压对比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);2组T_(1)、T_(2)、T_(3)时的心率及平均动脉压均低于T_(0)时,且观察组低于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P0.05);但对照组T_(1)、T_(2)、T_(3)时心率及平均动脉压波动较大,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。2组苏醒后2、6、12 h NRS评分均呈上升趋势,至苏醒后24 h均呈下降趋势,但与对照组相比,观察组各时点NRS评分均较低,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。与对照组相比,观察组术中丙泊酚及瑞芬太尼使用量较少,术后镇痛泵首次按压时间较长,术后24 h内镇痛泵按压次数较少,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。观察组不良反应发生率低于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论与单纯全身麻醉相比,肾癌手术患者术中使用弓状韧带上腰方肌阻滞复合全身麻醉可达到更好的麻醉效果,有利于维持血流动力学稳定性,减轻术后疼痛,延长术后镇痛时间,减少镇痛药物使用量,并降低术后不良反应发生率。

为了探明种植密度对早春大棚辣椒生长、品质和产量的影响,以辣椒新品种濮椒6号为试验材料,采用单因素随机区组试验,设置5个种植密度处理,研究了不同种植密度对早春大棚辣椒植株、果实、叶绿素含量、光合特性、品质和产量的影响。结果表明,随着种植密度增加,辣椒株高逐渐增加,而株幅、茎粗、果宽、果长则逐渐减少。随着种植密度的增加,辣椒盛果期叶片的叶绿素含量、净光合速率(Pn)、气孔导度(Gs)和蒸腾速率(Tr)呈逐渐降低趋势,而辣椒叶片胞间CO_(2)浓度(Ci)则逐渐升高;辣椒果实可溶性蛋白、可溶性糖、维生素C含量逐渐降低,但对辣椒素含量没有显著影响。随着种植密度的增加,辣椒单果质量和商品果数呈逐渐降低趋势,而产量呈先升高后降低的趋势,当种植密度处理A2为2223株·667 m^(-2)时,其产量显著高于其他处理。综上所述,2223株·667 m^(-2)为早春大棚辣椒濮椒6号的适宜种植密度。
