Dear Editor,This letter focuses on the problem of remaining useful life(RUL)prediction of equipment. Existing graph neural network(GCN)-based approaches merely provide the point estimation of RUL. However,the estimated RUL often varies widely due to the model parameters and the noise in data. It is important to know the uncertainty in predictions for reliable risk analysis and maintenance decision making.To map the relationship between noisy condition monitoring data and RUL with uncertainty.

In order to study the fragmentation law,the confined compression experiment of granular assemblies has been conducted to explore the particle breakage characteristic by DEM approach in this work.It is shown that contact and contact force during the loading process gradually transform from anisotropy to isotropy.Meanwhile,two particle failure modes caused by different contact force states are analyzed,which are single-through-crack failure and multi-short-crack failure.Considering the vertical distribution of the number of cracks and the four characteristic stress distributions(the stress related to the maximum contact force,the major principal stress,the deviatoric stress and the mean stress),it is pointed out that the stress based on the maximum contact force and the major principal stress can reflect the distribution of cracks accurately.In addition,the size effect of particle crushing indicates that small size particles are prone to break.The lateral pressure coefficient of four size particles during the loading process is analyzed to explain the reason for the size effect of particle breakage.

Effective source-load prediction and reasonable dispatching are crucial to realize the economic and reliable operations of integrated energy systems(IESs).They can overcome the challenges introduced by the uncertainties of new energies and various types of loads in the IES.Accordingly,a robust optimal dispatching method for the IES based on a robust economic model predictive control(REMPC)strategy considering source-load power interval prediction is proposed.First,an operation model of the IES is established,and an interval prediction model based on the bidirectional long short-term memory network optimized by beetle antenna search and bootstrap is formulated and applied to predict the photovoltaic power and the cooling,heating,and electrical loads.Then,an optimal dispatching scheme based on REMPC is devised for the IES.The source-load interval prediction results are used to improve the robustness of the REPMC and reduce the influence of source-load uncertainties on dispatching.An actual IES case is selected to conduct simulations;the results show that compared with other prediction techniques,the proposed method has higher prediction interval coverage probability and prediction interval normalized averaged width.Moreover,the operational cost of the IES is decreased by the REMPC strategy.With the devised dispatching scheme,the ability of the IES to handle the dispatching risk caused by prediction errors is enhanced.Improved dispatching robustness and operational economy are also achieved.

Most of current public key cryptosystems would be vulnerable to the attacks of the future quantum computers.Post-quantum cryptography offers mathematical methods to secure information and communications against such attacks,and therefore has been receiving a significant amount of attention in recent years.Lattice-based cryptography,built on the mathematical hard problems in(high-dimensional)lattice theory,is a promising post-quantum cryptography family due to its excellent efficiency,moderate size and strong security.This survey aims to give a general overview on lattice-based cryptography.To this end,the authors begin with the introduction of the underlying mathematical lattice problems.Then they introduce the fundamental cryptanalytic algorithms and the design theory of lattice-based cryptography.

Impact of Dual-Volume Helmholtz Dampers on Longitudinal and Azimuthal Thermo-Acoustic Instabilities in an Annular Combustor

Dual-volume Helmholtz dampers with two resonant frequencies are proposed to simultaneously attenuate longitudinal and azimuthal thermo-acoustic instabilities in annular combustors. Thermo-acoustic instabilities in a swirled annular combustor equipped with dual-volume dampers are numerically investigated by the Helmholtz method, combined with a measured flame transfer function and the established damper impedance model. Furthermore, the influences of the damper number and circumferential configurations on oscillation attenuations and mode structures are explored. The established dual-volume damper model is well validated by the impedance tube tests. Numerical results indicate velocity fluctuation levels of the longitudinal and azimuthal modes decline after installing Helmholtz dampers, whereas those of the azimuthal modes further decrease by around 16% after using four retuned dual-volume dampers. The eigenfrequencies of the first longitudinal and azimuthal modes decrease and increase after installing dampers, respectively. After installing dual-volume dampers, the difference between the pressure fluctuation in the plenum and combustion chamber is reduced, and pressure waveforms of the azimuthal modes along the circumferential direction shifts. The pressure distribution of azimuthal modes becomes more uniform after using more dual-volume dampers. The specific absorption frequency band for azimuthal modes introduced by the dual-volume damper may lead to decreased oscillations and mode evolutions. The maximal absorbing ability can be approached by installing dampers with the same angle between adjacent dampers. When dampers are unevenly distributed, the symmetry between two azimuthal modes is broken and standing modes will emerge.

Warfarin is a commonly used oral anticoagulant.Patients with artificial valve replacement,atrial fibrillation,pulmonary embolism,deep vein thrombosis,and other diseases require long-term anticoagulant oral treatment with warfarin.As warfarin exhibits prompt action with long maintenance time,it has become a key drug for the treatment of patients at risk of developing thrombosis or thromboembolism.Warfarin is a bican coumarin anticoagulant,that exhibits competitive action against vitamin K as its mechanism of action,thereby inhibiting the synthesis of coagulation factors—predominantly the vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II,VII,IX,and X—in hepatocytes.Long-term warfarin is known to significantly increase the risk of organ bleeding in some patients,while some patients may need to reverse the anticoagulation effect.For instance,patients scheduled for emergency or invasive surgery may require rapid anticoagulation reversal.During such medical circumstances,fresh frozen plasma(FFP)is clinically used for the reversal of excess warfarin-associated anticoagulation,as it contains all the coagulation factors that can alleviate the abnormal blood anticoagulation status in such patients.Accordingly,this article aims to perform an in-depth review of relevant literature on the reversal of warfarin with FFP,and insightful deliberation of the application and efficacy of this clinical intervention.

Autophagy is an evolutionarily conserved process involved in the degradation of long-lived proteins and excessive or dysfunctional organelles. As a pivotal cellular response, autophagy has been extensively studied and is known to be involved in various diseases. Ferroptosis is a recently discovered form of regulated cell death characterized by iron overload, leading to the accumulation of lethal levels of lipid hydroperoxides. Recently, an increasing number of studies have revealed a link between autophagy and ferroptosis. Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) is an urgent dilemma after myocardial infarction recanalization, which is regulated by several cell death pathways, including autophagy and ferroptosis. However, the potential relationship between autophagy and ferroptosis in MIRI remains unexplored. In this study, we briefly review the mechanisms of autophagy and ferroptosis, including their roles in MIRI. Moreover, we provide an overview of the potential crosstalk in MIRI. Clarifying the relationship between different cell death pathways may provide new ideas for the treatment of MIRI in the future.

Estimation of Hammerstein nonlinear systems with noises using filtering and recursive approaches for industrial control

This paper discusses a strategy for estimating Hammerstein nonlinear systems in the presence of measurement noises for industrial control by applying filtering and recursive approaches.The proposed Hammerstein nonlinear systems are made up of a neural fuzzy network(NFN)and a linear state`-space model.The estimation of parameters for Hammerstein systems can be achieved by employing hybrid signals,which consist of step signals and random signals.First,based on the characteristic that step signals do not excite static nonlinear systems,that is,the intermediate variable of the Hammerstein system is a step signal with different amplitudes from the input,the unknown intermediate variables can be replaced by inputs,solving the problem of unmeasurable intermediate variable information.In the presence of step signals,the parameters of the state-space model are estimated using the recursive extended least squares(RELS)algorithm.Moreover,to effectively deal with the interference of measurement noises,a data filtering technique is introduced,and the filtering-based RELS is formulated for estimating the NFN by employing random signals.Finally,according to the structure of the Hammerstein system,the control system is designed by eliminating the nonlinear block so that the generated system is approximately equivalent to a linear system,and it can then be easily controlled by applying a linear controller.The effectiveness and feasibility of the developed identification and control strategy are demonstrated using two industrial simulation cases.
