Hetero MOF-on-MOF-derived carbon nanotube interconnected nitrogen-doped carbon-encapsulated FeNi/FeF2 for efficient oxygen evolution reaction

Heterostructures derived from metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)with multicomponent synergism are significant in the energy conversion and catalysis reactions.Herein,we demonstrated such an efficient catalyst with the structure of self-catalyzed nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube interconnected FeNi/FeF2 derived from hetero-zeolite imidazolate frameworks 8(ZIF-8)on Fe2Ni MIL(MIL represents Materials of Institut Lavoisier)for oxygen evolution reaction.The obtained catalyst showed efficient synergism of the multicomponents,high polarity,more active sites exposure,increased intrinsic activity,and improved conductivity and stability by a carbon interconnected and confined structure as revealed by the spectroscopic analysis and electrochemical measurements.It required an overpotential of only ca.240mV(no iR correction)to reach the current density of 10mAcm^(−2) in a KOH solution when loaded on an inert glass carbon electrode,much better than similar kinds of catalysts.The improved catalytic performance can be well correlated to the structural transformation step by step from different MOFs to their derivatives by subsequent carbonation and fluorination.Because of the above-mentioned structural advantages,good catalysis performance of high activity and stability,faster catalytic kinetics,and facile active phase formation were observed compared to those of other similar materials.This work offers a new platform of derivatives from hetero MOF-on-MOF for catalysis reactions.

Self-assembled Nanosheets of Perylene Monoamide Derivative as Sensitive Fluorescent Biosensor for Exonuclease Ⅲ Activity

Enzymes containing 3′→5′exonuclease activities play an important role in various key cellular and physiological processes.The development of fluorescence biosensor is an efficient method to detecting enzyme activity.Herein,a fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)“on”and“off”strategy for detecting exonuclease III(Exo III)activity has been developed.We report here that the double-stranded DNA(dsDNA)enables to bind tightly to self-assembled nanosheets of cationic perylene monoimide derivative(PMI-O7)through electrostatic interaction,and the 6-carboxyfluorescein(FAM)-modified dsDNA could be efficiently quenched via FRET between FAM and PMI-O7.Upon the addition of Exo III,the dsDNA will be digested and the FAM fluorophore will be released,resulting in the fluorescence recovery of FAM.This method provides a simple and sensitive biosensor platform with a low detection limit of 0.077 U/mL for Exo III.Importantly,this method exhibits similar and calibration curves for the detection of Exo III in both buffer and fetal bovine serum samples,indicating that this platform has potential to detect Exo III activity in complex samples.

Prescribed-time leader-following consensus of linear multi-agent systems by bounded linear time-varying protocols

This paper considers the prescribed-time leader-following consensus problem of input-constrained linear multi-agent systems under generally directed communication topology in two cases:the Laplacian matrix related to the entire communication topology between agents is either known or unknown.In particular,the consensus problem for the former case is solved by a novel bounded linear time-varying(LTV) protocol,where the feedback gain is formulated by the parametric Lyapunov equation and the knowledge of the Laplacian matrix.Moreover,by utilizing a distributed observer,a fully bounded LTV protocol is proposed for the latter case.It should be noted that,compared with the existing results,the system under consideration is more general,the designed protocols are linear,and the consensus problem is accomplished even in a fully distributed manner.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by a numerical example.

Utilizing a metal-forging inspired chain combing strategy to enhance properties and expand applications of Nylon 66 plastic via heat inducing

The mechanical properties of engineering plastics can be enhanced through effective surface mechanical treatment(SMT),which can be applied to various types of engineering plastics,eliminating the limitations of conventional polymer processing and could potentially extend their applications and improve their performance and reliability as structural-functional materials.Inspired by metal forging,this work proposes a simple and effective SMT strategy to enhance the mechanical properties of polyamide 66(PA66).Tensile tests have shown that SMTed PA66 samples exhibit significant improvements in both Young’s modulus and ultimate tensile strength(UTS),with a 2104 MPa Young’s modulus,almost double that of the pristine samples,and a 35.56%increase in UTS,reaching 183 MPa.Additionally,the modulus within the localized SMTed surface layer could reach up to 14 GPa,which is approximately 14 times higher than that of the pristine sample.The Vickers hardness within the localized SMTed surface layer can be doubled,reaching 10.72 Hv,and the crystallinity can increase by approximately 20%compared to the untreated region.Furthermore,force field molecular dynamics(FFMD)simulations were conducted to investigate the ternary relationship between the SMT method,PA66’s molecular structure,and its properties.The combination of MD simulations and versatile structural characterizations provides evidence that the SMT method’s mechanism,under heat induction,results in a chain-combing procedure that changes the polymer’s molecular morphology microscopically and enhances its mechanical properties macroscopically.

The electrochemical reforming of glycerol at Pd nanocrystals modified ultrathin NiO nanoplates hybrids:An efficient system for glyceraldehyde and hydrogen coproduction

The glycerol electro-oxidation reaction(GEOR)is a green and promising method for the glyceraldehyde production.In this work,Pd nanocrystals(Pd-NCs)modified ultrathin NiO nanoplates(NiO-uNPs)hybrids(Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs)are successfully synthesized using successive cyanogel hydrolysis,chemical reduction,and calcination treatment methods.Various electrochemical measurements and physicochemical characterization results demonstrate that Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs hybrids have excellent electrocatalytic performance for both GEOR and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in alkaline medium,which benefit from the large specific surface area,uniform distribution of Pd-NCs,and the modified electronic structure of Ni atoms.At Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs hybrids,only 1.43 V is needed to obtain the current density of 100 mA∙cm^(−2) for GEOR,much lower than that for oxygen evolution reaction(1.82 V).In addition,Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs hybrids exhibit better HER performance than commercial Pd/C electrocatalyst.As a result,the constructed Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs||Pd-NCs/NiO-uNPs glycerol electrolyzer only requires 1.62 V electrolysis voltage to reach 10 mA∙cm^(−2) current density,showing an energy-efficient and economy-competitive synthesis for the coproduction of glyceraldehyde and hydrogen.

The state-of-art lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have achieved great commercial success during the past decades.The intercalation mechanisms in graphite anode and lithium transition metal oxide enabled its long-term stability in organic electrolytes.The classic electrolyte formula of lithium hexafluorophosphate(Li PF6)in carbonate solvents provided a benign solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)on the electrode surface.Subsequent researches on materials and electrolytes have improved the electrochemical stability and energy density for LIBs.Nevertheless,their adoptions,especially in electric vehicles and power grid have been obstructed owing to the safety concerns and environmental impact.The flammable carbonate solvents are easy to trigger fire and cause cell failure.The common used LiPF6 is sensitive to moisture which increases much difficulty to eliminate trace water in practical application.

Preparation and properties of bifunctional Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD composite nanoparticles

Nanocomposites of graphene quantum dots(GQDs)modified gadolinium oxide(Gd_(2)O_(3))particles were successfully synthesized.In addition,the effects of the amount of GQDs and the particle size of Gd_(2)O_(3)on the properties of nanocomposites were investigated.The structures and properties of nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,photoluminescence spectrometry,and magnetic resonance imaging.The results show that the synthesized particles Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD are spherical with a diameter of approximately 40 nm and have excellent fluorescence and magnetic property,and its relaxation rate(r_(1)=25.18(mmol/L)^(-1)/s)is higher than that of the typical commercial contrast agents Gd-DTPA(r_(1)=4.5(mmol/L)^(-1)/s),The fluorescence property of Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD is optimized by varying the V_(GQDs):V_(Gd2O3)ratio,and 1:1 ratio of V_(GQDs):V_(Gd2O3)results in the best fluorescence property.The large particles of Gd_(2)O_(3)improve the relaxation property of nanocomposites.Therefore,the nanocomposites Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD with magnetic and fluorescence characteristics can be used in biological imaging,drug targeting,and in-vivo diagnostic analysis.

Attack-resilient Distributed Control for Islanded Single-/three-phase Microgrids Based on Distributed Adaptive Observers

This paper investigates the power sharing and voltage regulation issues of islanded single-/three-phase microgrids(S/T-MGs)where both sources and loads are unbalanced and the presence of adversarial cyber-attacks against sensors of distributed generator(DG)units is considered.Firstly,each DG unit is modeled as a heterogeneous linear dynamic agent with disturbances caused by sources and loads,then the problem is formulated as a distributed containment control problem.After that,to guarantee satisfactory power sharing and voltage control performance asymptotically achieved for the S/T-MGs,an attack-resilient distributed secondary control approach is developed by designing a distributed adaptive observer.With this approach,the effect of the cyber-attacks can be neutralized to ensure system stability and preserve bounded voltage synchronization.Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

Response characteristics of plunge pool slabs of Xiaxiluodu Hydropower deformation conditions

The key problem of the energy dissipation scheme of the arch dam body flood discharge and plunge pool below the dam is the stability problem of the plunge pool slab.As the protection structure of the underwater bed,the plunge pool slab bears the continuous impact of high-speed water flow.The hourly average dynamic water pressure on the slab is one of the main loads directly affecting the stability of the slab and is the main factor causing its erosion destruction.After the impoundment of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station,the measuring line of valley width in the plunge pool area has been continuously shrinking.By 2020,the cumulative shrinking value is about 80 mm.In light of the general background condition of valley shrinkage,daily inspection,annual detailed inspection,underwater inspection and drainage inspection of the plunge pool found that the plunge pool has experienced different degrees of damage,which greatly influences the long-term safety stability of the plunge pool.In this paper,the prototype observation data of flood discharge is used as the input load of pulsatingpressure,and the stress and displacement distribution of the plunge pool structure under the vibration load of flood discharge is analyzed under the condition that the stress and strain state of the plunge pool is changed under the influence of valley displacement.The results show that the stress,strain,and displacement distribution of the plunge pool are mainly caused by valley deformation,the vibration caused by flood discharge is little in influence,and the impact effect of deep hole flood discharge tongue on the plunge pool slab is weak.
