Antifouling coatings are used to improve the speed and energy efficiency of ships by preventing or- ganisms, such as barnacles and weed, building up on the underwater hull and helping the ships movement through the water. Typically, marine coatings are tributyltin self-polishing copolymer paints containing toxic molecules called biocides. They have been the most successful in combating bio- fouling on ships, but their widespread use has caused severe pollution in the marine ecosystem. The low surface energy marine coating is an entirely non-toxic alternative, which reduces the adhesion strength of marine organisms, facilitating their hydrodynamic removal at high speeds. In this paper, the novel low surface energy non-toxic marine antifouling coatings were prepared with modified acrylic resin, nano-SiO2, and other pigments. The effects of nano-SiO2 on the surface structure and elastic modulus of coating films have been studied, and the seawater test has been carried out in the Dalian Bay. The results showed that micro-nano layered structures on the coating films and the lowest surface energy and elastic modulus could be obtained when an appropriate mass ratio of resin, nano-SiO2, and other pigments in coatings approached. The seawater exposure test has shown that the lower the sur- face energy and elastic modulus of coatings are, the less the marine biofouling adheres on the coating films.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been known as the second common leading cancer worldwide,as it responds poorly to both chemotherapy and ***(TP),a diterpenoid triepoxide,is a promising treatment agent for its effective anticancer effect on multiple cancers including ***,its clinical application has been limited owing to its severe systemic toxicities,low solubility,and fast elimination in the ***,to overcome the above obstacles,photo-activatable liposomes(LP)integrated with both photosensitizer Ce6 and chemotherapeutic drug TP(TP/Ce6-LP)was designed in the pursuit of controlled drug release and synergetic photodynamic therapy in HCC *** TP encapsulated in liposomes accumulated to the tumor site due to the enhanced permeability and retention(EPR)*** laser irradiation,the photosensitizer Ce6 generated reactive oxygen species(ROS)and further oxidized the unsaturated *** this way,the liposomes were destroyed to release ***/Ce6-LP with NIR laser irradiation(TP/Ce6-LP+L)showed the best antitumor effect both in vitro and in vivo on a patient derived tumor xenograft of HCC(PDXHCC).TP/Ce6-LP significantly reduced the side effects of ***,TP/Ce6-LP+L induced apoptosis through a caspase-3/PARP signaling ***,TP/Ce6-LP+L is a novel potential treatment option in halting HCC progression with attenuated toxicity.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has become the fourth predominant cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide,and HCC is still one of the worst prognoses for survival as it is poorly responsive to both chemotherapy and surgical treatment due to drug resista nce and great toxic ***(TP),a key ingredient from the traditional Chinese medical herb,has been utilized to treat inflammation and antitumor for ***,investigations of this potent agent have been met with only limited success due to the severe systemic toxicities in patients and low water solubility as well as its high toxicity over the past two ***,we reported the development of a reduction-responsive drug delive ry system loaded with TP fo r glutathione(GSH)-trigge red drug release for cancer *** the GSH-sensitive TP loaded nanoparticles,the remarkable increases in tumor accumulation and amelioration of drug toxicity in animals are demonstrated,which is likely due to sustained stepwise release of active TP within cancer ***,in a patient-derived tumor xenograft model of liver cancer,administration of tritolide nanoparticles enhances the antitumor efficacy relative to administration of free *** findings indicate that GSH-sensitive release of TP may be a promising strategy for cancer treatment.

Fusarium wilt,a disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum *** batatas(Fob)is an important disease in sweet potato *** endophytic bacteria for biological control of sweet potato diseases is one of the important ways.A Bacillus subtilis with antagonistic effect on Fusarium wilt of sweet potato was isolated from soil by confrontation *** to the biological characteristics,16S rDNA sequence analysis,and physiological and biochemical analysis,the Bacillus subtilis HAAS01 was named.A pot experiment was conducted for the biological control experiment of strain HAAS01,and the endogenous hormone content,antioxidant enzyme activity,soluble protein content,and related gene expressions of sweet potato plants were *** results showed that the HAAS01 strain could promote the production of endogenous hormones and resist the infection of plant diseases together with defensive enzymes and upregulation of related gene *** summary,Bacillus subtilis HAAS01 was effective in controlling Fusarium wilt of sweet potato and has potential for application and development.

BACKGROUND： Infusion of kainic acid into the basal nuclei induces neuronal excitotoxicity, degeneration and necrosis, resulting in disturbed learning and memory functions. OBJECTIVE： To explore the effects of different doses of traditional Chinese medicine Daicong solution on brain ultrastructure in a rat model of Alzheimer＇s disease. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： The randomized, controlled, cellular morphology experiment was performed at the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Molecular Immunology of Weifang Medical University, China from October 2006 to March 2007. MATERIALS： Fifty healthy, Sprague Dawley rats, aged 22-months, were used to establish rat models of Alzheimer＇s disease. The Morris water maze was prepared at the Pharmacometrics Key Laboratory of Weifang Medical University in Shandong Province of China. Traditional Chinese medicine Daicong solution （crude drug 1 g/mL）, composed of radix ginseng, rehmannia dried rhizome, anemarrhenae and radix astragali, was produced by the Department of Pharmacy of Hospital Affiliated to Weifang Medical University. Kainic acid was provided by Professor Xiuyan Li from Weifang Medical University. METHODS： A total of 40 model rats were equally and randomly divided into four groups： dementia model, low-dose Daicong solution （5 g/kg/d）, moderate-dose Daicong solution （10 g/kg/d）, and high-dose Daicong solution （20 g/kg/d）. An additional 10 healthy rats served as the normal control group. Rats in the dementia model and normal control groups received saline （10 mL/kg/d）. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Neural cell ultrastructure was observed utilizing electron microscopy after 1 month of respective treatments. RESULTS： Compared with the normal control group, electron density and the number of ribosomes were significantly reduced in neuronal cytoplasm, and many lipofuscin grains and vacuole-like changes were observed in mitochondria in the dementia model group. A review of historical reconstruction methods of land use/land cover

Understanding long-term human-environment interactions requires historical reconstruction of past land-use and land-cover changes. Most reconstructions have been based primarily on consistently available and relatively standardized information from historical sources. Based on available data sources and a retrospective research, in this paper we review the approaches and methods of the digital reconstruction and analyze their advantages and possible constraints in the following aspects：（1） Historical documents contain qualitative or semi-quantitative information about past land use, which also usually include land-cover data, but preparation of archival documents is very time-consuming. （2） Historical maps and pictures offer visual and spatial quantitative land-cover information. （3） Natural archive has significant advantages as a method for reconstructing past vegetation and has its unique possibilities especially when historical records are missing or lacking, but it has great limits of rebuilding certain land-cover types. （4） Historical reconstruction models have been gradually developed from empirical models to mechanistic ones. The method does not only reconstruct the quantity of land use/cover in historical periods, but it also reproduces the spatial distribution. Yet there are still few historical land-cover datasets with high spatial resolution. （5） Reconstruction method based on multiple-source data and multidisciplinary research could build historical land-cover from multiple perspectives, complement the missing data, verify reconstruction results and thus improve reconstruction accuracy. However, there are challenges that make the method still in the exploratory stage. This method can be a long-term development goal for the historical land-cover reconstruction. Researchers should focus on rebuilding historical land-cover dataset with high spatial resolution by developing new models so that the study results could be effectively applied in simulations of
