Effect of Artificial Cooling Extrusion on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–Zn–y Alloys

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg–Zn–y alloys with different Zn/y atomic ratios with or without artificial cooling (AC) extrusion were systematically investigated in this work. The results show that bimodal microstructure consisting of submicron dynamic recrystallized (DRXed) grains with high fraction of low-angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) and elongated unDRXed grains was formed in Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)y_(0.3) alloy with AC extrusion. The AC process effectively limits the growth of precipitated phases, and large amount of nanoscale precipitates were dynamically precipitated during the extrusion process. AC extrusion could effectually refine the lamellar 14H LPSO phases and inhibit the transition from stacking faults to LSPO phases in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)y_(1) alloy and the narrow LPSO phase in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)y_(1)-AC alloy which could promote the nucleation of DRXed grains. The AC extrusion significantly improves the strength of Mg–Zn–y alloys. Owing to AC extrusion, the strength improvement of Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)y_(0.3) alloy is mainly attributed to fine grain strengthening, dislocation strengthening, and nano-phases precipitation strengthening. After AC process, more fine grains and nano-phases jointly strengthen the Mg_(98)Zn_(1)y_(1) alloy. The Mg_(98)Zn_(1)y_(1) alloy obtains optimal mechanical properties after extrusion at 623 K, with ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 406 MPa, yield strength (yS) of 388 MPa, and elongation (EL) of 5.6%.

Fabrication of AZ31/Mg3y Composites with Excellent Strength and Plasticity via Accumulated Rolling Bonding and Diffusion Annealing

AZ31/Mg3y composites with a layer thickness of 100-200μm were fabricated by accumulated rolling bonding(ARB),which was followed by diffusion annealing at 300℃ for 0-32 *** interface layer,containing numerous Al-y precipitates,is formed in the Mg3y layer that is adjacent to the interface as a result of Al diffusing from the AZ31 layers into the Mg3y *** thickness of the interface layer gets increased and more precipitates are formed in the interface layer with the extension of the annealing *** microhardness of the AZ31 and Mg3y layer decreases firstly and then reaches a stable value,while the microhardness of the interface layer increases gradually with the extension of the annealing *** AZ31/Mg3y composites exhibit equivalent strength but increased ductility after diffusion annealing,in comparison to the as-rolled AZ31/Mg3y *** addition,the AZ31/Mg3y composites after annealing always present higher strength and ductility than AZ31/AZ31 composite,which was fabricated by the same process as that for the AZ31/Mg3y ***-deformation induced strengthening also plays an important role in the excellent strength and ductility of the annealed AZ31/Mg3y *** study can provide a direction for improving the plasticity and strength of magnesium alloys synergistically.

An introductory review on the common brown leafhopper (Orosius orientalis): A new soybean pest

Soybean pests are one of the major factors limiting yield improvement. With the expansion of area and changes in cropping patterns, a number of new pests have been identified in the main soybean production areas of China. The common brown leafhopper, Orosius orientalis, is a new pest associated with soybean stay-green virus that has been discovered on cultivated soybean crop in the yellow-Huai-hai region of China in recent years. The polyphagous insect has a wide feeding range and infests a variety of important grain and cash crops. This paper presents the basic information, geographical distribution, hosts, damage characteristics, plant virus transmission, occurrence patterns, and prevention and control measures O. orientalis. This review also provides insights into integrated prevention and control of the genus Orosius as an insect vector. © 2024 the Oil Crop Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences

Physics-informed deep learning for fringe pattern analysis

Recently,deep learning has yielded transformative success across optics and photonics,especially in optical *** neural networks (DNNs) with a fully convolutional architecture (e.g.,U-Net and its derivatives) have been widely implemented in an end-to-end manner to accomplish various optical metrology tasks,such as fringe denoising,phase unwrapping,and fringe ***,the task of training a DNN to accurately identify an image-to-image transform from massive input and output data pairs seems at best naive,as the physical laws governing the image formation or other domain expertise pertaining to the measurement have not yet been fully exploited in current deep learning *** this end,we introduce a physics-informed deep learning method for fringe pattern analysis (PI-FPA) to overcome this limit by integrating a lightweight DNN with a learning-enhanced Fourier transform profilometry (Le FTP) *** parameterizing conventional phase retrieval methods,the Le FTP module embeds the prior knowledge in the network structure and the loss function to directly provide reliable phase results for new types of samples,while circumventing the requirement of collecting a large amount of high-quality data in supervised learning *** by the initial phase from Le FTP,the phase recovery ability of the lightweight DNN is enhanced to further improve the phase accuracy at a low computational cost compared with existing end-to-end *** results demonstrate that PI-FPA enables more accurate and computationally efficient single-shot phase retrieval,exhibiting its excellent generalization to various unseen objects during *** proposed PI-FPA presents that challenging issues in optical metrology can be potentially overcome through the synergy of physics-priors-based traditional tools and data-driven learning approaches,opening new avenues to achieve fast and accurate single-shot 3D imaging.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Successful implantation requires concerted interactions during the apposition, adhesion, and invasion of the embryo into a receptive endometrium. However, the embryo implantation rate for assisted reproduction remains low despite the transfer of good quality embryos. Changes in endometrial transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics, and even microbiota all play important roles in embryo implantation. Specifically, the expression of steroid hormone-regulated adhesive and anti-adhesive molecules during the embryo implantation window is becoming an area of increasingly intense research. This review (a) summarizes the different molecules expressed in the receptive endometrium and (b) proposes the use of surface protein markers to predict pregnancy outcomes from assisted reproduction.

Impact of effective stress on permeability for carbonate fractured-vuggy rocks

To gain insight into the flow mechanisms and stress sensitivity for fractured-vuggy reservoirs,several core models with different structural characteristics were designed and fabricated to investigate the impact of effective stress on permeability for carbonate fractured-vuggy rocks(CFVR).It shows that the permeability performance curves under different pore and confining pressures(*** stress conditions)for the fractured core models and the vuggy core models have similar change *** ranges of permeability variation are significantly wider at high pore pressures,indicating that permeability reduction is the most significant during the early stage of development for fractured-vuggy *** each obtained effective stress coefficient for permeability(ESCP)varies with the changes in confining pressure and pore pressure,the effective stresses for permeability of four representative CFVR show obvious nonlinear characteristics,and the variation ranges of ESCP are all between 0 and ***,a comprehensive ESCP mathematical model considering triple media,including matrix pores,fractures,and dissolved vugs,was *** is proved theoretically that the ESCP of CFVR generally varies between 0 and ***,the regression results showed that the power model ranked highest among the four empirical models mainly applied in stress sensitivity characterization,followed by the logarithmic model,exponential model,and binomial *** concept of“permeability decline rate”was introduced to better evaluate the stress sensitivity performance for CFVR,in which the one-fracture rock is the strongest,followed by the fracture-vug rock and two-horizontalfracture rock;the through-hole rock is the *** general,this study provides a theoretical basis to guide the design of development and adjustment programs for carbonate fractured-vuggy reservoirs.

CHARACTERIZATION OF Si_(1-x-y)Ge_xC_y FILMS GROWN By ION IMPLANTATION AND SUBSEQUENT SOLID PHASE EPITAXy

Si1-x-yGexCy ternary alloy films were grown on monocrystalline silicon substrates by C+ ion implantation and subsequent solid phase epitaxy (SPE). Two-step annealing technique was employed in the SPE. The structure and electrical properties of the alloy films were determined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and van der Pauw Hall measurements, respectively. With the optimization of two-step annealing technique for the implanted Si1-x-yGexCy layers, a certain amount of C atoms occupied substitutional sites and no SiC was formed.
