Around 450 cases of acute severe hepatitis of unknown origin in children have been reported in 21 countries and region globally since April 2022,which has exceeded the past annual incidences of related regions,and has aroused wide *** patients were predominantly children under 16years of age,presented with symptoms of acute hepatitis with markedly elevated liver enzymes,and had been ruled out of common viral infections such as hepatitis A,B,C,D,and *** cases have not been reported in China ***,considering that the severe acute hepatitis has involved worldwide areas,still with unknown origin,and incidences of severity is relatively high,we formulated this recommendation to standardize diagnosis and treatment of acute severe hepatitis of unknown origin in Peking Union Medical College Hospital,to get fully prepared to the possible public health events.

A fiber-based,self-aligned dual-beam laser direct writing system with a polarization-engineered depletion beam is designed,constructed,and *** system employs a vortex fiber to generate a donut-shaped,cylindrically polarized depletion beam while simultaneously allowing the fundamental mode excitation beam to pass *** results in a co-axially self-aligned dual-beam source,enhancing stability and mitigating assembly *** size of the central dark spot of the focused cylindrical vector depletion beam can be easily adjusted using a simple polarization rotation *** a depletion wavelength of 532 nm and an excitation wavelength of 800 nm,the dual-beam laser direct writing system has demonstrated a single linewidth of 63 nm and a minimum line spacing of 173 *** optimization of this system may pave the way for practical superresolution photolithography that surpasses the diffraction limit.

By mcasuring the Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isotopiccompositions of harzburgite and gabbro from Shimianophiolite suite, we got the whole rock Sm-Nd isochron age of(938 ± 30) Ma (2σ), and the e Nd of 7.6 ± 0.8 (2σ), which showsthat the ophiolite was formed at the Early *** obvious change (0.70209-0.70708) of Isr values of theophiolite is caused by the meteoric hydrothermal *** high εNd values indicate that the primitive magma wasderived from the intense depleted mantle rescrvoir. It is sug-gested that this area was in a back-arc basin environmentduring the Early Neoproterozic.

早期诊断是防控感染性疾病的关键,病原宏基因组高通量测序(mNGS)技术突破了传统的培养方法或靶向分子检测手段的局限性,利用鸟枪法高通量测序技术对临床标本中的微生物进行无偏倚的快速检测,提升了疑难、罕见感染性病原体的诊疗水平,目前已经得到了临床的广泛认可。mNGS检测流程复杂,目前尚无统一的规范和要求,而多数实验室在建立平台初期缺乏相关人才的储备,致使mNGS平台建设和质量控制面临严峻挑战。本文从北京协和医院mNGS实验室本地化建设和运行过程中的实际经验出发,从建立mNGS实验室的硬件要求、mNGS检测体系的建立和评估方法以及mNGS临床应用后的质量保证三个方面进行概述,相对系统地介绍了mNGS检测平台和质量管理体系规范化建设和运行的建议。

Endocarditis caused by Arcanobacteriumpyogenes

A21-year-old male farmer was admitted to our hospital n December 28, 2011 with intermittent fever and chills of three months duration. Two weeks previously he had developed chest congestion and shortness of breath. His medical history was unremarkable. On physical examination, his temperature was 37.5℃, pulse 115/ min, and respiratory rate 20/min. His blood pressure was 118/49 mmHg. Cardiac auscultation revealed the presence of a systolic ejection murmur at the left sternal border and diastolic murmur at the right sternal border. A transthoracic echocardiogram performed on December 28 revealed left ventricular hypertrophy, an 8 mm ventricular septum, mild aortic valve stenosis, moderate to severe aortic insufficiency, moderate mitral valve insufficiency, vegetation on the aortic valve （measuring 5 mm×5 mm）, and trace pericardial effusion. The remaining physical examination was unremarkable. The laboratory test results for this patient are shown in the Table 1.

Intelligent laser-induced graphene sensor for multiplex probing catechol isomers

Herein,we unveil the intelligent detection of multiple catechol isomers in complex environments utilizing both laser-induced graphene(LIG)and artificial neural network(ANN).The large scale-up manufacturing of LIG-based sensors(LIGS)with three-electrode configuration on polyimide(PI)is achieved by direct laser-writing and screen-printing *** LIGS shows excellent electrochemical performance toward catechol isomers,i.e.,hydroquinone(1,4-dihydroxybenzene,HQ),catechol(1,2-dihydroxybenzene,CT),and resorcinol(1,3-dihydroxybenzene,RC),with a low limit of detection(LOD)(CC,0.079μmol/L;HQ,0.093μmol/L;RC,1.18μmol/L).Moreover,the ANN model is developed for machine-intelligent to predict concentrations of catechol isomers under an interfering environment via a single *** six unique parameters extracted from the differential pulse voltammetry(DPV)response,the machine learning-based regression provides a coefficient of correlation with 0.998 and is able to correctly predict the total and individual concentrations in complex river ***,this work provides a guide for the preparation and application of LIGS via facile and cost-efficient mass production and the development of an intelligent sensing platform based on the ANN model.

Antimicrobial susceptibility of Gram-negative bacteria causing intra-abdominal infections in China： SMART China 2011

Background The Study for Monitoring Antimicrobial Resistance Trends program monitors the activity of antibiotics against aerobic and facultative Gram-negative bacilli （GNBs） from intra-abdominal infections （IAIs） in patients *** In 2011,1 929 aerobic and facultative GNBs from 21 hospitals in 16 cities in China were *** isolates were tested using a panel of 12 antimicrobial agents,and susceptibility was determined following the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute *** Among the Gram-negative pathogens causing IAIs,Escherichia coli （47.3％） was the most commonly isolated,followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae （17.2％）,Pseudomonas aeruginosa （10.1％）,and Acinetobacter baumannii （8.3％）.Enterobacteriaceae comprised 78.8％（1521/1929） of the total *** the antimicrobial agents tested,ertapenem and imipenem were the most active agents against Enterobacteriaceae,with susceptibility rates of 95.1％ and 94.4％,followed by amikacin （93.9％） and piperacillin/tazobactam （87.7％）.Susceptibility rates of ceftriaxone,cefotaxime,ceftazidime,and cefepime against Enterobacteriaceae were 38.3％,38.3％,61.1％,and 50.8％,*** leastactive agent against Enterobacteriaceae was ampicillin/sulbactam （25.9％）.The extended-spectrum β-lactamase （ESBL） rates among ***,***,Klebsiella oxytoca,and Proteus mirabilis were 68.8％,38.1％,41.2％,and 57.7％,*** Enterobacteriaceae were the major pathogens causing IAIs,and the most active agents against the study isolates （including those producing ESBLs） were ertapenem,imipenem,and *** the carbapenems,most agents exhibited reduced susceptibility against ESBL-positive and multidrug-resistant isolates.

Realization of one-dimensional 2~n-root topological states in photonic lattices

Square-root topological insulators recently discovered are intriguing topological phases. They possess topological properties inherited from the squared Hamiltonian and exhibit double-band structures. The mechanism of the square root was generalized to 2~n-root topological insulators, giving rise to more band gaps. In this study, we describe the experimental realization of onedimensional 2~n-root topological insulators in photonic waveguide arrays using the archetypical Su-Schrieffer-Heeger（SSH）model. Topological edge states with tunable numbers are clearly observed under visible light. In particular, we visualized the dynamic evolutions of the light propagation by varying the sample lengths, which further proved the localization and multiple numbers of edge states in 2~n-root topological systems. The experiment, which involves constructing 2~n-root topological photonic lattices in various geometric arrangements, provides a stable platform for studying topological states that exhibit a remarkable degree of flexibility and control.

Coherence entropy during propagation through complex media

The deformation, flicker, and drift of a light field owing to complex media such as a turbulent atmosphere have limited its practical applications. Thus, research on invariants in randomly fluctuated light fields has garnered considerable attention in recent years. Coherence is a statistical property of light,while its full and quantitative characterization is challenging. Herein, we successfully realize the orthogonal modal decomposition of partially coherent beams and introduce the application of coherence entropy as a global coherence characteristic of such randomly fluctuated light fields. It is demonstrated that coherence entropy remains consistent during propagation in a unitary system by unraveling complex channels. As representative examples, we study the robustness of coherence entropy for partially coherent beams as they propagate through deformed optical systems and turbulent media. Coherence entropy is anticipated to serve as a key metric for evaluating the propagation of partially coherent beams in complex channels. This study paves the way for a broader application scope of a customized low-coherence light field through nonideal optical systems and complex media.
