The identification of spreading influence nodes in social networks,which studies how to detect important individuals in human society,has attracted increasing attention from physical and computer science,social science and economics communities.The identification algorithms of spreading influence nodes can be used to evaluate the spreading influence,describe the node’s position,and identify interaction centralities.This review summarizes the recent progress about the identification algorithms of spreading influence nodes from the viewpoint of social networks,emphasizing the contributions from physical perspectives and approaches,including the microstructure-based algorithms,community structure-based algorithms,macrostructure-based algorithms,and machine learning-based algorithms.We introduce diffusion models and performance evaluation metrics,and outline future challenges of the identification of spreading influence nodes.

During adaptation to terrestrial environment,plants evolved an important vegetative organ,root,to achieve immobilization,absorption of water and nutrients,biosynthesis,transportation and other physiological functions.Stem cell niche in root apical meristem,including quiescent center(QC)cells and their surrounding stem cells(Figure 1),is critical for normal root growth and development.Positions of stem cells within the stem cell niche determine their cell fates.

Receptor-like kinases(RLKs)play key roles in regulating various physiological aspects in plant growth and development.In Arabidopsis thaliana,there are at least 223 leucine-rich repeat(LRR)RLKs.The functions of the majority of RLKs in the LRR XI subfamily were previously revealed.Only three RLKs were not characterized.Here we report that two independent triple mutants of these RLKs,named ROOT ELONGATION RECEPTOR KINASES(REKs),exhibit increased cell numbers in the root apical meristem and enhanced cell size in the elongation and maturation zones.The promoter activities of a number of Quiescent Center marker genes are significantly up-regulated in the triple mutant.However,the promoter activities of several marker genes known to control root stem cell niche activities are not altered.RNA-seq analysis revealed that a number of cell wall remodeling genes are significantly up-regulated in the triple mutant.our results suggest that these REKs play key roles in regulating root development likely via negatively regulating the expression of a number of key cell wall remodeling genes.

Considerable research efforts have been devoted to increase phosphorus(P)availability during aerobic composting.However,there is little discussion weather the dissolved organic carbon(DOC)controls the transformation among P-fractions.Thus,we investigated the changes in DOC compositions and P-fractions during biochar-amended composting(wet weight basis,5%and 10%).TP content continuously increased since the'concentration effect'during aerobic composting.NaHCO_(3)-Pi,NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi were main P-fractions,and biochar can improve P-bioavailability by transforming NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi into NaHCO_(3)-Pi.Structure equation models(SEMs)indicated that biochar enhanced the P-bioavailability through regulating the decomposition of DOC.our results at least hint that the activation mechanism on P under the influence of DOC during biochar-amended composting.

As the main load bearing component,the steel strand has a significant impact on the safety of civil infrastructure.Real-time monitoring of steel strand stress distribution throughout the damage process is an impor-tant aspect of civil infrastructure health assessment.Hence,this study proposes an optical-electrical co-sensing(OECS)smart steel strand with the DOFS and CCFPI embedded in.It can simultaneously measure small strains in the initial damage phase with high accuracy and obtain information in the large deformation phase with relatively low precision.Several experiments were carried out to test its sensing performance.It shows both DOFS and CCFPI have good linearity,repeatability and hysteresis.In comparison to DOFS,CCFPI has a relatively lower accuracy and resolution,but a large enough measurement range to tolerate the large strain in the event of a steel strand failure.To verify the reliability of the proposed smart steel strand in real structures,the strand strain distribution in the full damage process of bonded prestressed beams under four-point bending loading was monitored using the smart steel strand as a prestressing tendon.The strain measured by the OECS steel strand is shown to reflect the deformation and stiffness variation of prestressed beams under different load.

Nanocomposites of graphene quantum dots(GQDs)modified gadolinium oxide(Gd_(2)O_(3))particles were successfully synthesized.In addition,the effects of the amount of GQDs and the particle size of Gd_(2)O_(3)on the properties of nanocomposites were investigated.The structures and properties of nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,photoluminescence spectrometry,and magnetic resonance imaging.The results show that the synthesized particles Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD are spherical with a diameter of approximately 40 nm and have excellent fluorescence and magnetic property,and its relaxation rate(r_(1)=25.18(mmol/L)^(-1)/s)is higher than that of the typical commercial contrast agents Gd-DTPA(r_(1)=4.5(mmol/L)^(-1)/s),The fluorescence property of Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD is optimized by varying the V_(GQDs):V_(Gd2O3)ratio,and 1:1 ratio of V_(GQDs):V_(Gd2O3)results in the best fluorescence property.The large particles of Gd_(2)O_(3)improve the relaxation property of nanocomposites.Therefore,the nanocomposites Gd_(2)O_(3)/GQD with magnetic and fluorescence characteristics can be used in biological imaging,drug targeting,and in-vivo diagnostic analysis.

Examining the Spatiotemporal Dynamics and Determinants of Land Urbanization in Prefecture-level Cities,China

Examining the spatiotemporal dynamics and determinants of land urbanization is critical for promoting healthy urban development and the rational use of land resources.Based on the dataset consisting of land use change data and selected factors in 2010 and2020,this study used visual analysis to reveal the spatiotemporal dynamics of land urbanization across prefecture-level cities in China.Meanwhile,the driving forces underlying land urbanization were examined by using geographical detector technique.Following are the findings:1)we find that there exist notable spatial variances in land urbanization across prefecture-level cities.Currently,the differentiation in land urbanization between the northern and southern cities is more pronounced than that between the coastal and inland cities,or between the eastern and western cities.Prefecture-level cities located in central and western China have experienced the most rapid growth in land urbanization.Conversely,the growth rate in northeastern China is the lowest,while the velocity in eastern China remains relatively stable.By using spatial autocorrelation analysis,this study reveals that the land urbanization level in prefecture-level cities has significant spatial agglomeration.2)We further find that land urbanization in China is influenced by factors related to urban land supply and demand,and urban population growth,economic growth,land financial and political incentive have greater impact on land urbanization than other factors.3)We also find that the impacts of determinants on China’s land urbanization vary over time,the explanatory power of economic development increased,while the explanatory power of state forces declined.We argue that integrating the supply and demand factors of land urbanization can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the driving mechanisms underlying land urbanization in China and other transitional countries,and help decision-makers in these countries formulate more detailed and specific land urbanization policies.

Edge induced band bending in van der Waals heterojunctions:A first principle study

The dangling bond free nature of two-dimensional(2D)material surface/interface makes van der Waals(vdW)heterostructure attractive for novel electronic and optoelectronic applications.But in practice,edge is unavoidable and could cause band bending at 2D material edge analog to surface/interface band bending in conventional three-dimensional(3D)materials.Here,we report a first principle simulation on edge band bending of free standing MoS2/WS2 vdW heterojunction.Due to the imbalance charges at edge,S terminated edge causes upward band bending while Mo/W terminated induces downward bending in undoped case.The edge band bending is comparable to band gap and could obviously harm electronic and optoelectronic properties.We also investigate the edge band bending of electrostatic doped heterojunction.N doping raises the edge band whereas p doping causes a decline of edge band.Heavy n doping even reverses the downward edge band bending at Mo/W terminated edge.In contrast,heavy p doping doesn’t invert the upward bending to downward.Comparing with former experiments,the expected band gap narrowing introduced by interlayer potential gradient at edge is not observed in our free-standing structures and suggests substrate’s important role in this imbalance charge induced phenomenon.

Effective Model Compression via Stage-wise Pruning

Automated machine learning(AutoML)pruning methods aim at searching for a pruning strategy automatically to reduce the computational complexity of deep convolutional neural networks(deep CNNs).However,some previous work found that the results of many Auto-ML pruning methods cannot even surpass the results of the uniformly pruning method.In this paper,the ineffectiveness of Auto-ML pruning,which is caused by unfull and unfair training of the supernet,is shown.A deep supernet suffers from unfull training because it contains too many candidates.To overcome the unfull training,a stage-wise pruning(SWP)method is proposed,which splits a deep supernet into several stage-wise supernets to reduce the candidate number and utilize inplace distillation to supervise the stage training.Besides,a wide supernet is hit by unfair training since the sampling probability of each channel is unequal.Therefore,the fullnet and the tinynet are sampled in each training iteration to ensure that each channel can be overtrained.Remarkably,the proxy performance of the subnets trained with SWP is closer to the actual performance than that of most of the previous AutoML pruning work.Furthermore,experiments show that SWP achieves the state-of-the-art in both CIFAR-10 and ImageNet under the mobile setting.
