Customized reconstructive prosthesis design based on topological optimization to treat severe proximal tibia defect

Strip-oriented asynchronous prefetching for parallel disk systems

Sequential prefetching schemes are widely employed in storage servers to mask disk latency and improve system throughput. However, existing schemes cannot benefit parallel disk systems as expected due to the fact that they ignore the distinct internal characteristics of the parallel disk system, in particular, data striping. Moreover, their aggressive prefetching pattern suffers from premature evictions and prolonged request latencies. In this paper, we propose a strip-oriented asynchronous prefetching (SoAP) technique, which is dedicated to the parallel disk system. It settles the above-mentioned problems by providing multiple novel features, e.g., enhanced prediction accuracy, adaptive prefetching strength, physical data layout awareness, and timely prefetching. To validate SoAP, we implement a prototype by modifying the software redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID) under Linux. Experimental results demonstrate that SoAP can consistently offer improved average response time and throughput to the parallel disk system under non-random workloads compared with STEP, SP, ASP, and Linux-like SEQPs.

Effects of lipid-lowering agents on diabetic retinopathy: a Meta-analysis and systematic review

AIM：To clarify this controversy and to provide evidence for application of lipid lowering agents in treatment of diabetic retinopathy（DR）.METHODS：We searched the databases of Pub Med,Embase and Cochrane Library Central Register of Controlled Trials（CENTRAL）and abstracts from main annual meetings up to January 1,*** scholar and Clinical *** were also searched for unpublished relevant *** included randomized controlled trials（RCTs）that studied lipid-lowering agents in type 1 or type 2 diabetes in this *** primary endpoint was the progression of DR,and the secondary endpoints included vision loss,development of diabetic macular edema（DME）and aggravation of hard *** pooled odds ratios（OR）with corresponding 95%confidence intervals（95%CIs）were ***：After systemic and manual literature search by two independent investigators,we included 8 RCTs from 7 published articles with 13 454 participants in this *** results revealed that lipid-lowering drugs were associated with reduced risk in DR progression[OR=0.77（95%CI：0.62,0.96）,P=0.02].Lipid-lowering agents might have protective effect on DME compared to placebo,although the difference was not statistically significant[OR=0.60（95%CI：0.34,1.08）,P=0.09].However,no significant differences in the worsening of vision acuity[OR=0.96（95%CI：0.81,1.14）,P=0.64]and hard exudates[OR=0.50（95%CI：0.15,1.74）,P=0.28]were found between the lipidlowering drugs and the placebo ***：In DR patients,lipid-lowering agents show a protective effect on DR progression and might be associated with reduced risk in the development of ***,lipid-lowering agents have no effects on vision loss and hard exudates *** clinical trials in larger scale are required to confirm the conclusion of this study and thus justify the use of intensive control lipids with anti-lipid agents at the early stages of DR.

秸秆源土壤调理剂对设施菜地次生盐渍障碍的改良效果

为探索设施菜地土壤次生盐渍障碍的改良与修复方法,提升设施土壤的可持续发展性,在江苏省苏州市吴江区连续种植15年的叶菜类蔬菜生产基地开展土壤次生盐渍障碍改良试验。试验以当地典型叶菜品种香青菜为供试作物,在氮素施用量相同条件下(纯N 12.5 kg/667 m^(2)),以常规施用化肥处理为对照,用T0表示,设计了2种次生盐渍障碍改良措施:有机无机肥配施处理、秸秆源土壤调理剂+常规化学施肥基础上减量15%处理,分别用T1、T2表示。试验观测了供试叶菜的产量、硝酸盐含量、维生素C含量,并在叶菜收获后检测分析了土壤的pH值、EC值、土壤物理与肥力等指标,结果表明:与常规施肥处理(T0)相比,采用秸秆源土壤调理剂耦合化肥减量措施(T2)可有效减轻设施菜地次生盐渍化障碍程度(EC值降低了49.25%)、缓解土壤酸化程度(pH值提高了18.36%),促进供试叶菜的正常生长及产量的提高与品质的提升,产量增加了84.82%、硝酸盐含量降低了45.92%、维生素C含量提高了67.57%;T2处理的土壤密度、最大持水量、总孔隙体积、土壤通气体积等物理性状比T0、T1处理均有显著的优化提升,另外,T2处理的土壤中有机质含量、速效钾含量显著高于T0、T1处理,而硝态氮含量则显著低于T0、T1处理。该试验提出的秸秆源土壤调理剂耦合化肥减量措施对次生盐渍化障碍土壤具有明显的改良效果,对于促进农业秸秆资源化利用、提升农业绿色高质量发展水平、减轻化学肥料投入并减缓农业面源污染风险压力、服务高标准农田建设等具有重要意义。

A 10 Gbps in-line network security processor based on configurable hetero-multi-cores

This paper deals with an in-line network security processor (NSP) design that implements the Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) protocol processing for the 10 Gbps Ethernet. The 10 Gbps high speed data transfer, the IPSec processing including the crypto-operation, the database query, and IPSec header processing are integrated in the design. The in-line NSP is implemented using 65 nm CMOS technology and the layout area is 2.5 mm×3 mm with 360 million gates. A configurable crossbar data transfer skeleton implementing an iSLIP scheduling algorithm is proposed, which enables simultaneous data transfer between the heterogeneous multiple cores. There are, in addition, a high speed input/output data buffering mechanism and design of high performance hardware structures for modules, wherein the transfer efficiency and the resource utilization are maximized and the IPSec protocol processing achieves 10 Gbps line speed. A high speed and low power hardware look-up method is proposed, which effectively reduces the area and power dissipation. The post simulation results demonstrate that the design gives a peak throughput for the Authentication Header (AH) transport mode of 10.06 Gbps with the average test packet length of 512 bytes under the clock rate of 250 MHz, and power dissipation less than 1 W is obtained. An FPGA prototype is constructed to verify the function of the design. A test bench is being set up for performance and function verification.

Cyanidin 3-O-β-galactoside from black chokeberry exerts neuroprotective effects in mice fed with high-fat/high-sugar diet through regulating glucose metabolism

Unhealthy diets are associated with various diseases that can disrupt brain energy metabolism， which significantly increased the risk of cognitive impairment and chronic neurodegenerative diseases. Early intervention with nutritional supplements may have long-lasting positive effects on diet-related glucose metabolism and potentially mediate the progression of neurodegeneration in middle-aged and elderly people. We previously reported that cyanidin 3-O-β-galactoside (Cy3Gal)， an anthocyanin from black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa (Michx.) Elliott)， alleviated cognitive impairment in aging mice through regulating brain energy metabolism. However， it remains unclear whether Cy3Gal can also exert beneficial effects in mice fed with a high-fat/high-sugar diet. Here we revealed that Cy3Gal treatment conserved the health of neurons and synapses， as well as cognitive function of mice. Furthermore， we observed that Cy3Gal effectively improved glucose uptake and metabolism of skeletal muscle by enhancing glycolysis both in vivo and in vitro models， which is essential for maintaining a stable glucose supply to the brain. Additionally， Cy3Gal significantly increased the levels of glucose-derived tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates in the mice brain (P < 0.05)， and regulated the activities of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes (P < 0.01). The positive influence on peripheral and brain bioenergetics explained how the Cy3Gal exerted neuroprotective effect. In conclusion， our study illustrated that early dietary intervention of Cy3Gal had significant advantages in terms of neuroprotection and cognition under the challenge of HFHS diet-induced glucose metabolism disorder.

Effects of Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) Raw Material Types on Properties of Anorthite Based Insulation Refractories

To optimize their Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw materials,anorthite based insulation refractories were prepared by the in-situ sintering process combined with the foaming method after sintering at 1350℃for 3 h,using green and pollution-free kaolin,kyanite,andalusite and sillimanite as Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw materials,respectively,and industrial CaCO_(3) as the CaO *** of Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw material types on the physical properties,phase composition and microstructure were *** results are as *** samples prepared by different Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw materials have hexagonal flake anorthite and a small amount of mullite and *** bulk density and thermal conductivity decrease in the order of using kaolin,andalusite,kyanite and sillimanite as the Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw material,but their apparent porosity ***,in the sample with kaolin,the bonding between anorthite crystals on the pore walls is closer than that of the other samples,which is conducive to increasing the cold crushing *** bonding between anorthite crystals on pore walls gradually decreases in the order of using kyanite,andalusite and sillimanite as the Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) raw material,thus their cold crushing strength decreases *** comprehensive consideration,the properties of the sample from kyanite are the *** apparent porosity,thermal conductivity and cold crushing strength are 84.6%,0.141 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1) and 1.89 MPa,respectively.

A novel low molecular weight compound polysaccharides from Chinese herbal medicines: purification， characterization and anti-tumor activities in vitro and in vivo

A novel low molecular weight polysaccharide (LMW-CPS) was identified from a specific combination of Chinese herb ingredients. The monosaccharide composition of LMW-CPS was consisted of single arabinose， which had an α-L-furanose configuration with an average molecular weight of 2.06 kDa. NMR spectra and monosaccharide constitution analyses revealed that it had a backbone of →5)-α-L-Araf-(1→ with α-L-Araf-(1→ as the terminal residue. In vitro experiments found that it could lead to apoptosis and inhibit hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation by arresting them in the S phase. In vivo experiments showed that it protected immune organs such as the thymus and spleen， enhanced immune cell activities， stimulated cytokine release， augmented the abundance of CD8， CD3， CD4， and CD19 positive lymphocytes， and markedly impeded solid hepatocellular carcinoma progression in mice. H&E staining and cell cycle examination also indicated that LMW-CPS arrested hepatocellular carcinoma cells at the S phase to induce apoptosis. These findings indicated its promising potential for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
