A large-scale Mg-6Al-Zn plate was prepared by multi-pass submerged friction stir processing(M-SFSP)and its superplastic deformation behavior was *** maximum elongation of 467%,332%and 421%was attained for the samples oriented in the processing direction(PD),45°tilted toward the PD,and transverse direction(TD),respectively,when deformed at 623 K and a strain rate of 1×10^(−3) s^(−1).This was attributed to the homogeneous and fine-grained structure with mostly high-angle grain boundaries facilitating the prevalent deformation mechanism of grain boundary sliding,along with the weakened texture and dynamic recrystallization during hot deformation.

Objective Right ventricular outflow tract septum has become widely used us an electrode placement site. However, data concerning lead performances and complications for lead repositioning with this technique were scant. The purpose of this study was to observe long- term lead performances and complications of right ventricular outflow tract septal pacing and provide evidences for choosing an optimal electrode implantation site. Methods Thirty-six patients with septal active electrode implantation and 39 with apical passive electrode implantation were enrolled in this study. Pacing threshold, R-wave sensing, lead impedance, pacing QRS width and pacing-related compli- cations for two groups at implantation and follow-up were compared. Results There were higher pacing threshold and shorter pacing QRS width at implantation in the septal group compared with the apical group. There were no differences between the septal and the apical groups in pacing threshold, R-wave sensitivity, lead impedance and pace-related complication during a follow-up. Conclusions Right ventricular outflow tract septum could be used as a first choice for implantation site because it had long-term stable lead performances and no serious complications compared with the traditional apical site.

Objective Atrioventricular block(AVB)is a common and serious *** present,there is no perfect method of treatment for this kind of *** purpose of this study was to regenerate cardiac atrioventricular conduction by autologous transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),and explore new methods for therapy of atrioventricular *** Eleven Mongrel canines were randomized to MSCs transplantation(n=6)or control(n=5)*** models of permanent and complete AVB in 11 canines were established by ablating His bundle with radiofrequency *** 4 weeks after AVB,bone marrow was aspirated from the iliac *** were isolated and culture-expanded by means of gradient centrifugal and adherence to growth technique,and differentiated by 5-azacytidine in *** MSCs(1ml,1.5×10^(7)cells)labeled with BrdU were autotransplanted into His bundle area of canines by direct injection in the experimental group,and 1ml DMEM in the control *** 1-12 weeks after operation,the effects of autologous MSCs transplantation on AVB models were evaluated by electrocardiogram,pathologic and immunohistochemical staining *** Compared with the control group,there was a distinct improvement in atrioventricular conduction function in the experimental *** transplanted in His bundle were differentiated into analogous conduction system cells and endothelial cells in vivo,and established gap junction with host *** The committed-induced MSCs transplanted into His bundle area could differentiate into analogous conduction system cells and improve His conduction function in canine AVB models.

Several variants of concern(VOCs)have emerged since the WIV04 strain of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)was first isolated in January *** to mutations in the spike(S)protein,these VOCs have evolved to enhance viral infectivity and immune ***,whether mutations of the other viral proteins lead to altered viral propagation and drug resistance remains *** replicon is a noninfectious viral surrogate capable of recapitulating certain steps of the viral life *** several SARS-CoV-2 replicons have been developed,none of them were derived from emerging VOCs and could only recapitulate viral genome replication and subgenomic RNA(sgRNA)*** this study,SARS-CoV-2 replicons derived from the WIV04 strain and two VOCs(the Beta and Delta variants)were prepared by removing the S gene from their genomes,while other structural genes remained *** replicons not only recapitulate viral genome replication and sgRNA transcription but also support the assembly and release of viral-like particles,as manifested by electron microscopic ***,the S-deletion replicon could recapitulate virtually all the post-entry steps of the viral life cycle and provides a versatile tool for measuring viral intracellular propagation and screening novel antiviral drugs,including inhibitors of virion assembly and *** the quantification of replicon RNA released into the supernatant,we demonstrate that viral intracellular propagation and drug response to remdesivir have not yet substantially changed during the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 from the WIV04 strain to the Beta and Delta VOCs.

Fully-coupled simulations of thermally-induced cracking in pegmatite due to microwave irradiation

Fully-coupled thermo-mechanical simulations are implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics to investigate micro-scale stress-strain variability in pegmatite specimens subjected to thermal loading using microwaves. Thermally-induced compressive and tensile stresses increase as the microwave irradiation duration increases. The dielectric constant, coefficient of expansion, and type and size of mineralogical boundary have significant impacts on the responses of the rock to microwave irradiation. The maximum principal stress of the chlorite is the smallest, indicating that the chlorite experiences the most damage under microwave irradiation, followed by the quartz. The maximum principal stress values of plagioclase and orthoclase are larger, indicating that they are likely to incur the least damage. Where quartz or chlorite is dominant, the resulting von Mises stresses are consistently higher after 120 s of microwave irradiation. The rate of generation of von Mises stresses increases most rapidly along the interface between quartz and plagioclase, and the interface between quartz and orthoclase, followed by the interface between quartz and chlorite, and finally the interface between plagioclase and orthoclase. The presented modeling approach provides a practical method to investigate stress-strain relationships within mineralogical boundaries inside a rock thin section.

Nanobubbles have been proven existent at the liquid/solid interface, and become a focus of research on varied interfacial processes. In the present work, by observing in situ with atomic force microscope (AFM), we found that nanobubbles could influence the adsorption process of bovine serum albumin (BSA) on hydrophobic surface of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG). BSA could adsorb evenly, and coexist with nanobubbles at water/HOPG interface. After removing nanobubbles by injecting ethanol, some hollows were found in the BSA layers at the same positions of nanobubbles existing previously. These hollows were about 8 nm in depth and dozens of nanometers in diameter. The correlation coefficient between the areas of nanobubbles and that of the corresponding hollows reached 0.88―0.94, which strongly supported the assumption that the hollows were indeed caused by the nanobubbles. Moreover, the BSA molecules formed rings around the nanobubbles, suggesting the preference of BSA adsorption onto the contact line at water/HOPG interface.

Class II HDACs, such as HDAC4, are critical regulators of the immune response in various immune cells;however, its role in innate immunity remains largely ***, we report that the overexpression of HDAC4 suppresses the production of type I interferons triggered by pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs). HDAC4 repressed the translocation of transcription factor IRF3 to the nucleus, thereby decreasing IRF3-mediated IFN-β expression. In particular, we also determined that HDAC4 can be phosphorylated and simultaneously block the phosphorylation of IRF3 at Ser386 and Ser396 by TBK1 and IKKε, respectively, by interacting with the kinase domain of TBK1 and IKKε. Furthermore, IFN-β may stimulate the expression of HDAC4. Our findings suggest that HDAC4 acts as a regulator of PRR signaling and is a novel mechanism of negative feedback regulation for preventing an overreactive innate immune response.

为应对气候变化背景下干旱灾害频率和强度增加的严峻挑战,本文基于多维气象数据的特征分析、遥感监测和水资源评估等方法探讨了我国北方地区2024年6月干旱的成因、特征及其动态发展过程;通过分析气象过程、气温变化、降雨特性、水文条件以及干旱特征,结合历史数据和多维气象数据评估,揭示了干旱形成的驱动机制及其对农业、生态和社会经济的影响。结果表明:干旱的发生主要受高压脊控制、高温少雨以及干热气团共同作用,导致水资源短缺和农业损失加剧;北方地区降水量显著偏低,气温持续偏高,形成严重的气象干旱条件。同时提出了短期应急措施和中长期治理对策,为缓解干旱灾害风险和制定防灾减灾政策提供了科学依据。
