Sensitivity analysis of CO_2 sequestration in saline aquifers

Carbon capture and storage （CCS） technology has been considered as an important method for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and for mitigating global climate change. Three primary options are being considered for large-scale storage of CO2 in subsurface formations： oil and gas reservoirs, deep saline aquifers, and coal beds. There are very many large saline aquifers around the world, which could make a big contribution to mitigating global warming. However, we have much less understanding of saline aquifers than oil and gas reservoirs. Several mechanisms are involved in the storage of CO2 in deep saline aquifers, but the ultimate goal of injection of CO2 into the aquifers containing salt water is to dissolve the CO2 in the water. So it is important to study the solubility trapping and sensitivity factors of CO2 in saline aquifers. This paper presents results of modeling CO2 storage in a saline aquifer using the commercial reservoir simulator ECLIPSE. The objective of this study was to better understand the CO2/brine phase behavior （PVT properties） and quantitatively estimate the most important CO2 storage mechanism in brine-solubility trapping. This would provide a tool by performing theoretical and numerical studies that help to understand the feasibility of CO2 geological storage. A 3-dimensional, 2-phase （water/gas） conceptional reservoir model used finite, homogenous and isothermal formations into which CO2 is injected at a constant rate. The effects of main parameters were studied, including the vertical to horizontal permeability ratio kv/kh, salinity, and residual phase saturations. The results show that the vertical to horizontal permeability ratio has a significant effect on CO2 storage. Moreover, more CO2 dissolves in the brine at lower kv/kh values.

Covalent organic nanospheres as a fiber coating for solid-phase microextraction of genotoxic impurities followed by analysis using GC-MS

Covalent organic nanospheres(CONs)were explored as a fiber coating for solid-phase microextraction of genotoxic impurities(GTIs)from active ingredients(AIs).CONs were synthesized by an easy solutionphase procedure at 25℃.The obtained nanospheres exhibited a high specific surface area,good thermostability,high acid and alkali resistance,and favorable crystallinity and *** types of GTIs,alkyl halides(1-iodooctane,1-chlorobenzene,1-bromododecane,1,2-dichlorobenzene,1-bromooctane,1-chlorohexane,and 1,8-dibromooctane)and sulfonate esters(methyl p-toluenesulfonate and ethyl ptoluenesulfonate),were chosen as target molecules for assessing the performance of the *** prepared coating achieved high enhancement factors(5097-9799)for the selected *** strong affinity between CONs and GTIs was tentatively attributed to π-π and hydrophobicity interactions,large surface area of the CONs,and size-matching of the *** with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),the established analytical method detected the GTIs in capecitabine and imatinib mesylate samples over a wide linear range(0.2-200 ng/g)with a low detection limit(0.04-2.0 ng/g),satisfactory recovery(80.03%-109.5%),and high repeatability(6.20%-14.8%)and reproducibility(6.20%-14.1%).Therefore,the CON-coated fibers are promising alternatives for the sensitive detection of GTIs in AI samples.

Synthesis and Antitumor Activities of Novel 4-Morpholinothieno [3,2-d]pyrimidine Derivatives

A series of novel 2-hydrazinyl-4-morpholinothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine derivatives was designed and *** of them were screened for their cytotoxic activities against large cell lung cancer（H460）,colon cancer （HT-29） and adenocarcinomic lung cancer（A549） cell lines in *** pharmacological results indicate that most of the target compounds show moderate to significant *** compound 17 exhibits the most potent antitumor activities against H460,HT-29 and A549 cell lines with IC50 values of 0.57,0.45 and 1.45 μmol/L,respectively.

Vine tea has been used as an herbal tea by several ethnic minorities for hundreds of years in ***,a kind of indispensable component in a variety of nutraceutical,pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications,are identified to be the major metabolites and bioactive ingredients in vine ***,vine tea exhibits a wide range of significant bioactivities including anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory,anti-tumor,antidiabetic,neuroprotective and other activities,but no *** bioactivities,to some extent,enrich the understanding about the role of vine tea in disease prevention and *** health benefits of vine tea,particularly dihydromyricetin and myricetin,are widely ***,there is currently no comprehensive review available on vine ***,this report summarizes the most recent studies investigating bioactive constituents,pharmacological effects and possible mechanisms of vine tea,which will provide a better understanding about the health benefits and preclinical assessment of novel application of vine tea.

To Include Dyslipidemia Management into National Basic Public Health Service: from Project Practice to Policy

As cardiovascular diseases have been increasingly endangering the health and quality of life of Chinese residents,all relevant parties have been actively looking for policies and measures to effectively control the risk factors of the *** and diabetes have been included in the National Basic Public Health Service Project since 2009;however,as one of the most crucial risk factors for cardio-cerebrovascular diseases,dyslipidemia has not yet been covered by the project due to various *** prevalence of dyslipidemia in China increased rapidly from 18.6%in 2002 to 40.4%in 2012(1),whereas the management of dyslipidemia has been lagging behind and become the“short board”in the prevention and control of cardiocerebrovascular diseases.

Design, Synthesis and Antitumor Activity of Novel 6,7-Dimethoxyquinazoline Derivatives Containing Diaryl Urea Moiety

A series of 6,7-dimethoxyquinazoline derivatives connected by diaryl urea scaffolds was designed, synthesized and their in vitro antitumor activities were evaluated. Most of them showed an excellent potency against the four tested cancer cell lines as compared with sorafenib. Particularly, a promising compound 20 was identified, which showed the most potent antitumor activities with IC50 values of 0.08, 0.09, 0.16 and 0.19 μmol/L against H460, HT-29, MKN-45 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines, respectively. The structure-activity relationship（SAR） analysis indicated that compounds with dimethylamino or diethylamino group at the C4 position of 6,7-dimethoxyquinazoline moiety exhibited superior activities than compounds bearing morpholino groups.

Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of Oxazolidinone Derivatives Containing Nitro Heteroaromatic Moiety

A series of novel oxazolidinone derivatives containing nitro heteroaromatic moiety was synthesized and characterized by means of ^1H NMR and MS spectra. All target compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial activities against *** 29213, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus（MRSA） and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus（VRE） by minimum inhibitory concentration（MIC） assay. Most of them exhibited antibacterial activity against S. au 29213, MRSA and VRE. Among them, compounds 10e and 10f displayed better activity than the control.

The hollow structure has long attracted great attention because of its excellent ***,this special structure is usually synthesized through some complex ***,we discovered that denatured bovine serum albumin(BSA)can trigger unusual biomineralization for the simple,green and shape-controllable synthesis of germanium oxide(GeOx)hollow microsphere(HMS).At high temperature(60℃),BSA was denatured,and a compact BSA layer was formed around the H2 *** denatured BSA layer was stable and suitable for anchoring and growing *** simply changing the BSA concentration and temperature,various morphologies of GeOx could be *** to the denatured protein skeletons and microenvironment-regulated collapse,GeOx HMS showed great potential for intelligently responsive pesticide delivery in the insect gut,showing superiority over traditional delivery systems,which early release pesticides in the mouth and *** by its large specific surface area,excellent biocompatibility,modifiable functional groups,and high electrocatalytic activity,GeOx HMS was also applied to versatile sensors for H_(2)O_(2) assays at physiological pH and rapid coronavirus COVID-19 *** work not only provides some evidence for understanding proteins in depth but also paves a new avenue for the biomineralization-inspired synthesis of hollow structures with versatile functions.

Development of a new method for analyzing free aluminum ions(Al^(3+)) in seafood using HPLC-ICP-MS

This paper presents a novel method for simultaneous online examination of free aluminum ions(Al3+)in seafood,using solidphase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography online with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(SPEHPLC-ICP-MS),without post-column *** optimum conditions for chromatographic separation of Al3+were achieved using an IonPac CS5A analytical column with an IonPac CG5A guard *** mobile phase consisted of 0.040 mol/L LiOH,0.0060 mol/L 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid,and 0.090 mol/L CH3COOH(pH 4.7).The free Al3+ions in seafood were extracted by shaking with the mobile phase at 70°C for 2 *** was conducted using an Oasis MCX,3cc/60 mg,30μm column,which was activated and equilibrated with 2 mL of methanol and 4 mL of deionized water before ***(0.075 mol/L,2 mL)was used to wash inorganic Al from the SPE *** standard recoveries of Al3+were all above 89%and the relative standard deviations were all below 5%.The proposed method was successfully used for the examination of Al3+in seafood samples,and the results were similar to those obtained using the static equilibrium method.

A series of novel indolin-2-one derivatives containing 4-thiazolidinone moiety（7a--7r） were synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro antitumour activities against MDA-MB-231 （human breast cancer）, H460（human lung cancer） and HT-29（human colon cancer） cell lines by standard 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazae-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazo- lium bromide（MTT） assay. Representative compounds（Td, 7k, 7m, 7p） with higher cytotoxicity were further examined against one normal cell line（WI-38, human fetal lung fibroblasts）. The preliminary investigation shows that most of the compounds display moderate to excellent potency and high selectivity against different human cancer cell lines. In particular, the most potent compound 7m shows promising cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231, H460 and HT-29 cell lines with IC5o values of 0.78, 0.056 and 0.018 μmol/L, respectively. The potency is much higher than that of Sunitinib（IC50=3.46 μmol/L against MDA-MB-231, IC50=2.59 μmol/L against H460, IC50=1.50 μmol/L against HT-29） by 4.4, 46.3 and 83.3 fold.
