Efficient photocatalytic NADH regeneration with Rh-loaded Z-scheme mediator-free system

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)regeneration is necessary for the sustainable application of enzymatic industry.The Rh-based complex[Cp^(*)Rh(bpy)(H)]+has been widely used as an important mediator in NADH regeneration systems,but it is limited by complexity and high cost.here,a Z-scheme was constructed by loading Rh onto carbon nitride nanosheets/carbon nitride quantum dots(CN-CNQD).The resultant catalyst achieved a high yield of NADH in a mediator-free(M-free)system of 0.283 mmol L^(−1) g^(−1) min^(−1),which is 5.29 times that of pure CN.ADH enzyme introduction experiments confirmed that the enzyme active product 1,4-NADH could reach 34.21%selectivity in the M-free system.Mechanism research revealed that the heterojunction between CNs and CNQDs improved the NADH regeneration activity in the traditional M-involved system,while Rh loading was proved to optimize the yield and selectivity of 1,4-NADH in M-free system.The immobilized Rh shows more competitiveness than[Cp^(*)Rh(bpy)(H)]^(+).This study contributes to the construction of an M-free system for further application in greener,lower-cost enzymatic processes.

The development of nanoelectronics and nanotechnologies has been boosted signiﬁcantly by the emergence of 2D materials because of their atomic thickness and peculiar properties,and developing a universal,precise patterning technology for single-layer 2D materials is critical for assembling nanodevices.Demonstrated here is a nanomachining technique using electrical breakdown by an AFM tip to fabricate nanopores,nanostrips,and other nanostructures on demand.This can be achieved by voltage scanning or applying a constant voltage while moving the tip.By measuring the electrical current,the formation process on single-layer materials was shown quantitatively.The present results provide evidence of successful pattern fabrication on single-layer MoS2,boron nitride,and graphene,although further conﬁrmation is still needed.The proposed method holds promise as a general nanomachining technology for the future.

Engineering tantalum nitride for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting

Photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting is a promising energy conversion strategy for directly converting solar energy into green hydrogen fuel.Constructing an efficient PEC device,finding an efficient photoanode material with a suitable band gap and favorable band-edge positions is essential.Tantalum nitride(Ta_(3)N_(5))meets these fundamental requirements,and its theoretical maximum solar-to-hydrogen(STH)conversion efficiency can reach 15.9%.Consequently,it has been widely applied as a photoanode material for the PEC oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,severe bulk and interface charge recombination,along with sluggish water oxygen kinetics,seriously limits its STH conversion efficiency for PEC water splitting.herein,this feature article briefly reviews recent advances by our research group in improving the STH conversion efficiency of the Ta_(3)N_(5)photoanode using various strategies,including defect engineering,construction of a gradient band structure,interface engineering,and surface modification of self-healing OER cocatalyst.Up to now,the obtained half-cell STH efficiency has exceeded 4%,providing a solid foundation for the development of tandem PEC devices for unbiased solar-driven overall water splitting toward practical application.

Electric Vehicle Charging Load Optimization Strategy Based on Dynamic Time-of-Use Tariff

Electric vehicle(EV)is an ideal solution to resolve the carbon emission issue and the fossil fuels scarcity problem in the future.However,a large number of EVs will be concentrated on charging during the valley hours leading to new load peaks under the guidance of static time-of-use tariff.Therefore,this paper proposes a dynamic time-of-use tariff mechanism,which redefines the peak and valley time periods according to the predicted loads using the fuzzy C-mean(FCM)clustering algorithm,and then dynamically adjusts the peak and valley tariffs according to the actual load of each time period.Based on the proposed tariff mechanism,an EV charging optimization model with the lowest cost to the users and the lowest variance of the grid-side load as the objective function is established.Then,a weight selection principle with an equal loss rate of the two objectives is proposed to transform the multi-objective optimization problem into a single-objective optimization problem.Finally,the EV charging load optimization model under three tariff strategies is set up and solved with the mathematical solver GROUBI.The results show that the EV charging load optimization strategy based on the dynamic time-of-use tariff can better balance the benefits between charging stations and users under different numbers and proportions of EVs connected to the grid,and can effectively reduce the grid load variance and improve the grid load curve.

Multi-timescale optimization scheduling of interconnected data centers based on model predictive control

With the promotion of“dual carbon”strategy,data center(DC)access to high-penetration renewable energy sources(RESs)has become a trend in the industry.However,the uncertainty of RES poses challenges to the safe and stable operation of DCs and power grids.In this paper,a multi-timescale optimal scheduling model is established for interconnected data centers(IDCs)based on model predictive control(MPC),including day-ahead optimization,intraday rolling optimization,and intraday real-time correction.The day-ahead optimization stage aims at the lowest operating cost,the rolling optimization stage aims at the lowest intraday economic cost,and the real-time correction aims at the lowest power fluctuation,eliminating the impact of prediction errors through coordinated multi-timescale optimization.The simulation results show that the economic loss is reduced by 19.6%,and the power fluctuation is decreased by 15.23%.

Prediction of maximum upward displacement of shield tunnel linings during construction using particle swarm optimization-random forest algorithm

During construction,the shield linings of tunnels often face the problem of local or overall upward movement after leaving the shield tail in soft soil areas or during some large diameter shield projects.Differential floating will increase the initial stress on the segments and bolts which is harmful to the service performance of the tunnel.In this study we used a random forest(RF)algorithm combined particle swarm optimization(PSO)and 5-fold cross-validation(5-fold CV)to predict the maximum upward displacement of tunnel linings induced by shield tunnel excavation.The mechanism and factors causing upward movement of the tunnel lining are comprehensively summarized.Twelve input variables were selected according to results from analysis of influencing factors.The prediction performance of two models,PSO-RF and RF(default)were compared.The Gini value was obtained to represent the relative importance of the influencing factors to the upward displacement of linings.The PSO-RF model successfully predicted the maximum upward displacement of the tunnel linings with a low error(mean absolute error(MAE)=4.04 mm,root mean square error(RMSE)=5.67 mm)and high correlation(R^(2)=0.915).The thrust and depth of the tunnel were the most important factors in the prediction model influencing the upward displacement of the tunnel linings.

Biogenic amine is one of the main categories of hazardous compounds in meat and meat products,making its detection methods vital for the assurance of edible safety.In this sense,many biogenic amine detection techniques such as chromatographic,electrophoretic,and electrochemical methods have been developed,which play an irreplaceable role in ensuring the safety of meat and meat products.Due to the increasing demand for fast and on-site detection techniques,visual detection methods have been gradually developed compared with non-visual methods such as chromatography and electrophoresis.herein,we comprehensively review the mechanism and the latest progress of these biogenic amine detection methods;besides,we put forward the prospects for the future development of biogenic amine detection techniques,with a view to providing support for the establishment of more accurate and efficient detection,prevention and control strategies of biogenic amines.

New Rural Community Construction or Retention Development:A Comparative Analysis of Rural Settlement Transition Mechanism in Plain Agriculture Area of China Based on Actor Network Theory

It is an important way to realize rural revitalization and sustainable development to guide rural settlement transition(RST)in an appropriate way.This paper uses actor network theory(ANT)to construct a theoretical framework for the study of RST.Taking two typical villages with different transition paths in rural areas of North China Plain as examples,this paper reveals the mechanism of RST and makes a comparative analysis.The results show that:1)after identifying problems and obligatory passage point,key actors recruit heterogeneous actors into the actor network by entrusting them with common interests,and realize RST under the system operation.2)Rural settlements under different transition paths have similarities in the problems to be solved,collective actions and policy factors,but there are differences in the transition process,mechanism and effect.The actor network and mechanism of RST through the path of new rural community construction are more complex and the transition effect is more thorough.In contrast,the degree of RST of retention development path is limited if there is no resource and location advantage.3)Based on the applicable conditions of different paths,this paper designs a logical framework of‘Situation-Structure-Behavior-Result’to scientifically guide the identification of RST paths under the background of rural revitalization.

Improved Proximal Policy Optimization Algorithm for Sequential Security-constrained Optimal Power Flow Based on Expert Knowledge and Safety Layer

In recent years, reinforcement learning(RL) has emerged as a solution for model-free dynamic programming problem that cannot be effectively solved by traditional optimization methods. It has gradually been applied in the fields such as economic dispatch of power systems due to its strong selflearning and self-optimizing capabilities. However, existing economic scheduling methods based on RL ignore security risks that the agent may bring during exploration, which poses a risk of issuing instructions that threaten the safe operation of power system. Therefore, we propose an improved proximal policy optimization algorithm for sequential security-constrained optimal power flow(SCOPF) based on expert knowledge and safety layer to determine active power dispatch strategy, voltage optimization scheme of the units, and charging/discharging dispatch of energy storage systems. The expert experience is introduced to improve the ability to enforce constraints such as power balance in training process while guiding agent to effectively improve the utilization rate of renewable energy. Additionally, to avoid line overload, we add a safety layer at the end of the policy network by introducing transmission constraints to avoid dangerous actions and tackle sequential SCOPF problem. Simulation results on an improved IEEE 118-bus system verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Nanofluidic memristor based on the elastic deformation of nanopores with nanoparticle adsorption

The memristor is the building block of neuromorphic computing. We report a new type of nanofluidic memristor based on the principle of elastic strain on polymer nanopores. With nanoparticles absorbed at the wall of a single conical polymer nanopore, we find a pinched hysteresis of the current within a scanning frequency range of 0.01–0.1 Hz, switching to a diode below 0.01 Hz and a resistor above 0.1 Hz. We attribute the current hysteresis to the elastic strain at the tip side of the nanopore, caused by electrical force on the particles adsorbed at the inner wall surface. Our simulation and analytical equations match well with experimental results, with a phase diagram for predicting the system transitions. We demonstrate the plasticity of our nanofluidic memristor to be similar to a biological synapse. Our findings pave a new way for ionic neuromorphic computing using nanofluidic memristors.
