Summary What is already known about this topic?Lung cancer has a high mortality,resulting in a severe disease burden.Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are definitive carcinogen to human,and occupational exposure to PAHs is associated with lung cancer.What is added by this report?We analyzed the cancer cases from cohort studies on various PAHs exposed workers in China and other countries,calculated the quantitative risk of lung cancer based on meta-analyses,and confirmed the increased risk from lung cancer in selected PAHs exposed occupations.What are the implications for public health practices?There is a clear need to prevent lung cancer on a wide range of PAHs-related occupations in China and around the world.It is crucial to establish guidelines for improving the monitoring on exposure and health promotion in related working environments.

In this paper,we describe multiplicative derivations on the set of all rank-s matrices of Mn(K)over a field K with a relatively small integer s.Concretely,for fixed integers n,s satisfying 1≤s≤n/2 and n≥2,we prove that if a map d:Mn(K)→Mn(K)satisfiesδ(xy)=δ(x)y+xδ(y)for any two rank-s matrices,y∈Mn(K),then there exists a derivation D of Mn(K)such thatδ(x)=D(x)for each rank-k matrix a E Mn(K)with 0≤k≤s.As an application,we prove that a multiplicative derivation on a special subset of Mn(K)must be a derivation.

Due to strong synergistic effect of the elements,a series of XEuMnO_(x) ternary oxides(X=Ce,Ni,Co,Sb,Sn,Mo) were synthesized by one-pot co-precipitation method,and composite components were identified and optimized to maintain high activity and superior SO_(2)and H_(2)O endurance in selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x)with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).NO_(x)conversion of CeEuMnO_(x) ternary oxide catalysts attains more than 90% at 100-250℃,and finally achieves 74%under existence of 50×10^(-6)SO_(2) and 10 vol% H_(2)O at 230℃.The facile electron transfer through redox cycle of Mn^(3+)+Ce^(4+)■Mn4++Ce^(3+) and enhanced oxygen mobility can promote formation of more Mn species in high oxidation state and chemisorbed oxygen,accelerating oxidation of NO and the adsorbed NO_(2) formed can facilitate"fast SCR"reaction to improve low-temperature activity.In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)study reveals that addition of Ce to EuMnO_(x)catalyst boosts adsorption of NH_(3)and NO_(x)species.NH_(3)species are activated as crucial intermediate(NH_(2))to promote NH_(3)-SCR reaction.This research provides a novel material for practical deNO_(x)application of stationary source combustion flue gas in the future.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are ubiquitous toxic organic pollutants in the natural environment that are strongly associated with socioeconomic activities.Exploring the distribution,sources,and ecological toxicity of PAHs is essential to abate their pollution and biological risks.The 16 priority PAHs in different lakeside city estuarine sediments in the northern Taihu Lake in China were determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.Results showed that total concentrations of PAHs(ΣPAHs)ranged from 672.07 to 5858.34 ng g^(^(-1)),with a mean value of 2121.37 ng g^(^(-1)).High-molecular-weight PAHs(4-6 rings)were dominant,accounting for 85%of theΣPAHs detected.Due to the barrier of gate/dam in the estuarine area,the concentrations of PAHs in the sediments were significantly different between the river mouth and lake side.Changes in total organic carbon(TOC)content and the spatial distribution of PAHs in the sediments were consistent.Sediment pollution assessment explored using the fuzzy evaluation model indicated 75%of slight PAH pollution.Some estuarine sediments(22%)concentrated in the east of the Wuli Lake in the Meiliang bay of the Taihu Lake were moderately or heavily polluted.The PAHs may lead to occasional detrimental biological consequences in the area.Diagnostic ratios and principal component analysis-multiple linear regression suggested vehicle emission and natural gas combustion as the primary PAH contributors(81%).

Flowering time is an important agronomic trait of Chinese cabbage with late flowering being a primary breeding objective.In our previous work,we obtained Chinese cabbage-cabbage translocation lines that contained several beneficial cabbage genes.Cabbage-specific molecular markers show that these genes were coming from chromosome C01 of cabbage.In this study,we investigated the inheritance of flowering time in a couple of translocation lines and analyzed the transmission rate of molecular markers in the offspring.Consequently,we obtained the late flowering Chinese cabbage-cabbage translocation line‘AT7–4’in which the flowering time was later than that of‘85–1’by about 7 days under 4-week vernalization.Based on previous studies of the genomes of Chinese cabbage and cabbage,we located the cabbage-specific molecular markers that were closely linked at the top of the chromosome A01 in the F2mapping population generated by self-crossing F1s derived from a cross between the translocation line‘AT7–4’and Chinese cabbage‘14–36’.Five flowering-related genes in the alien fragment were found by functional annotation and their molecular markers were developed.This study lays the foundation for the future improvement of Chinese cabbage varieties using A-C translocation lines.

Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis)is an economically important vegetable crop throughout the world,especially in Asia.High-quality genome sequences are available for Chinese cabbage,but gene functional studies remain challenging.To promote functional genomic studies of Chinese cabbage,we generated an ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS)mutant population of~8000 M_(2) plants using the double haploid inbred line A03 as the parent.The genome of A03 was sequenced and used as a reference for high-throughput functional characterization of gene mutations at the whole-genome level.A total of 300 M_(2) to M_(5) EMS mutants were phenotypically screened and then sequenced,revealing 750629 SNPs and 46272 InDel mutations that cover 98.27%of all predicted genes in the A03 genome.A forward-genetics approach was successfully used to identify two genes with chloroplast-related functions that are responsible for the yellow leaf mutant trait.A reverse-genetics approach was also used to identify associations between mutations in five genes of the glucosinolate biosynthetic pathway and variations in glucosinolate content of the mutant plants.In addition,we built the Chinese cabbage EMS mutation database(CCEMD,***/EMSmutation/home)to increase the usability of this mutant population resource.In summary,we performed large-scale screening of a heading Chinese cabbage EMS mutant collection at the phenotypic and genotypic levels,which will facilitate gene mining of Chinese cabbage and might also be useful for the study of other Brassica crops.
