Role of the Chinese Herbal Medicine Xianhuayin on the Reversal of Premalignant Mucosal lesions in the Golden Hamster Buccal Pouch

Aim To investigate the role of the Chinese herbal medicine Xianhuayin on the reversal of 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene （DMBA）-induced premalignant mucosal lesions in the oral buccal pouch of golden hamsters. Methodology The animals were randomly divided into a non-diseased control group （n=5） and an experimental group including 50 animals in which the buccal mucosa had been painted with DMBA （0.5% in acetone） to generate an oral mucosa premalignant lesion. Animals in the experi- mental group were further divided into Xianhuayin-treated group （n=30）, untreated prem＇alignant lesion group （n=10） and normal saline （NS）-treated group （n=10）. The cheek （buccal） pouch mucosa of the golden hamsters in each group was observed with light and electron microscopy eight weeks after intragastric administration with NS or Xianhuayin. Results In the non-diseased control group, the buccal mucosa was keratinized and stratified squamous epithelium under a light microscope. In the untreated premalignant lesion group, variable degrees of epithelial dysplasia was observed. The irregular epithelial mucosa gradually became distinct in the Xianhuayin-treated group. Scanning electronic microscopic （SEM） analysis showed that surface of the cells exhibited honeycomb structures in the hamster of untreated- group. The cells were morphologically irregular, overlapped and loosened in the untreated premalignant lesion group. Most of the cell surface exhibited honeycomb structure in the Xianhuayin-treated group. Transmission electronic micro- scopic （TEM） analysis showed that buccal mucosal epithelial cells were morphologically regular in the non-diseased control group. Desmosomes and tonofibrils were reduced and the nucleus was morphologically irregular in the untreated premalignant lesion group. In the Xianhuayin-treated group, the widening intercellular gap was gradually reduced, desmosomes and the cells becoming morphologically regular. Background:Rosa chinensis *** Rosa rugosa *** not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional *** two plants have some differences in efficacy,but the flower buds are easily confused for similar *** addition,large-scale cultivation of ornamental rose flowers may lead to a decrease in the effective components of medicinal ***,it is necessary to study the chemical composition and make quality evaluation of Rosae Chinensis Flos(Yueji)and Rosae Rugosae Flos(Meigui).Methods:In this study,40 batches of samples including Meigui and Yueji from different regions in China were collected to establish high-performance liquid chromatography ***,the fingerprints data was analyzed using principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant analysis analysis chemometrics to obtain information on intergroup differences,and non-targeted metabolomic techniques were applied to identify and compare chemical compositions of samples which were chosen from groups with large *** compounds were screened by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot,and finally multi-component quantification was performed to comprehensively evaluate the quality of Yueji and ***:The similarity between the fingerprints of 40 batches roses and the reference print R was 0.73 to 0.93,indicating that there were similarities and differences between the *** principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of fingerprints data,the samples from different origins and varieties were intuitively divided into four *** least-squares discriminant analysis analysis showed that Meigui and Yueji cluster into two categories and the model was reliable.A total of 89 compounds were identified by high resolution mass spectrometry,mainly were flavonoids and flavon

Single-layer reticulated dome structure are commonly high-profile building in the public and can be attractive targets for terrorist bombings,so the public can benefit from enhanced safety with a stronger understanding of the behavior of single-layer reticulated dome structure under *** paper investigates the fluid-structure interaction process and the dynamic response performance of the singlelayer reticulated dome under external blast *** experimental and numerical results shown that structural deformation is remarkably delayed compared with the velocity of blast wave,which advises the dynamic response of large-span reticulated dome structure has a negligible effect on the blast wave propagation under *** failure modes are identified by comparing the plastic development of each ring and the residual spatial geometric of the structure,i.e.,minor vibration,local depression,severe damage,and overall *** plastic deformation energy and the displacement potential energy of the structure are the main consumers of the blast *** addition,the stress performance of the vertex member and the deep plastic ratio of the whole structure can serve as qualitative indicators to distinguish different failure modes.

Sensitivity analysis and probability modelling of the structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome subjected to an external blast loading

The structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome to external explosions is shaped by many variables,and the associated uncertainties imply non-deterministic *** deterministic methods for predicting the consequences of specific explosions do not account for these ***,the impact of the uncertainties associated with these input variables on the structures’response needs to be studied and *** this study,a parametric uncertainty analysis was conducted ***,local and global sensitivity analyses were carried out to identify the drivers of the structural dynamic response.A probabilistic structural response model was established based on sensitive variables and a reasonable sample ***,some deterministic empirical methods for explosion-resistance design,including the plane blast load model of CONWEP,the curved blast load model under the 50%assurance level,and the 20%mass-increased method,were used for evaluating their *** results of the analyses revealed that the structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome to an external blast loading is lognormally ***,the MB0.5 method based on the curved reflector load model yielded results with a relatively stable assurance rate and reliability,but CONWEP did not;thus,the 1.2MB0.5 method can be used for making high-confidence simple *** addition,the results indicated that the structural response is very sensitive to the explosion *** on these results,it is suggested that for explosion proofing,setting up a defensive barrier is more effective than structural strengthening.

Microstructure and magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets with P addition

In this paper,the effects of P doping on magnetic properties and microstructure were studied in Nd-Fe-B sintered *** P doping,the grain size gets refined and the distribution of the main phase is optimized due to the reduction of the liquidus *** liquidus temperature for the 0.05 wt% P-doped magnets is 1022 K,while that for the P-free magnets is 1038 *** P content increases,the liquidus temperature significantly *** and continuous grain boundary phases are formed in the P-containing magnets with smaller grain *** optimized microstructure with average grain size of 8.43 μm is obtained in the 0.05 wt% P-doped magnets,which is approximately 0.69 μm smaller than that of P-free sintered magnets (9.12 μm).Though P is usually thought to be an impurity element,it might be beneficial in Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets with proper *** coercivity of the 0.05 wt% P-doped magnets could be increased to 1283 kA·m-1,with slight changes of the remanence and the maximum magnetic energy ***4 phases in the grain boundary are of hexagonal structure,while those at the triple junctions have monoclinic *** sintering is achieved by doping proper P element in the Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets.

Dome structures have been used extensively for industrial,residential,and military ***,it is necessary to understand the damage risk potential for such structures for blast-resistant design *** paper investigates the effect of blast load variability on the design value and the structural dynamic ***,the sources of uncertainty in the external blast load on dome structures were discussed *** based on the probabilistic blast load model for the dome,the rationality of a deterministic mass-increase safety method was *** was found that previous deterministic design method cannot provide a consistent and sound assurance factor or reliability index on the entire dome *** addition,it was also proved that the assurance-based load method fails to ensure compliance with structural safety design standards on the dome roof when compared with the reliability-based blast method.A sensitivity analysis on the probabilistic blast load was conducted,and the results indicate that stand-off distance and explosive mass both act as dominant sources to influence the mean and variability of blast ***,based on the Latin hypercube sampling method,a reliability-based external blast load factor technique was *** technique was further used to estimate structural damage levels of a single-layer reticulated dome under different reliability requirements,associated with a low,medium,and high level of protection grades for a specific explosion scenario,and it indicated that this technique can be useful in the building design to achieve a higher structural anti-explosion *** study herein can serve as a reference for the calculation method of designed blast load.

The Use of Zein and Shuanghuangbu for Periodontal Tissue Engineering

Aim Tissue engineering is a promising area with a broad range of applications in the fields of regenerative medicine and human health. The emergence of periodontal tissue engineering for clinical treatment of periodontal disease has opened a new therapeutic avenue. The choice of scaffold is crucial. This study was conducted to prepare zein scaffold and explore the suitability of zein and Shuanghuangbu for periodontal tissue *** A zein scaffold was made using the solvent casting/particulate leaching method with sodium chloride （NaC1） particles as the porogen. The physical properties of the zein scaffold were evaluated by observing its shape and determining its pore structure and porosity. Cytotoxicity testing of the scaffold was carried out via in vitro cell culture experiments, including a liquid extraction experi- ment and the direct contact assay. Also, the Chinese medicine Shuanghuangbu, as a growth factor, was diluted by scaffold extract into different concentrations. This Shuanghuangbu-scaffold extract was then added to periodontal ligament cells （PDLCs） in order to determineits effect on cell proliferation. Results The zein scaffold displayed a sponge-like structure with a high porosity and sufficient thickness. The porosity and pore size of the zein scaffold can be controlled by changing the porogen particles dosage and size. The porosity was up to 64.1%-78.0%. The pores were well-distributed, interconnected, and porous. The toxicity of the zein scaffold was graded as 0-1. Furthermore, PDLCs displayed full stretching and vigorous growth under scanning electronic microscope （SEM）. Shuanghuangbu-scaffold extract could reinforce proliferation activity of PDLCs compared to the control group, especially at 100 μ***^-1 （P〈0.01）. Conclusion A zein scaffold with high porosity, open pore wall structure, and good biocompatibility is conducive to the growth of PDLCs. Effects of ozone-treated domestic sludge on hydroponic lettuce growth and nutrition

Here, the ozone-treated domestic sludge was diluted up to four different multiples and utilized as a nutritional source for hydroponic lettuce growth. Additionally, lettuce was cultured using the modified Hoagland nutrient solution as a control. The effects of ozone-treated domestic sludge on lettuce growth and nutrition were studied. Results showed that the lettuce treated with modified Hoagland inorganic nutrient solution had increased leaf number, plant height, fresh weight and dry weight compared to those treated with the ozone-treated domestic sludge dilution （P〈0.05）. However, the lettuce cultivated with the 2-fold ozone-treated sludge dilution showed significantly higher （P〈0.05） contents of chlorophyll, soluble sugar and ascorbic acid （Vc） compared to that treated with modified Hoagland nutrient solution. And the nitrate concentration in the lettuce cultured with the 2-fold ozone-treated sludge dilution was 53.93% less than that cultured with the modified Hoagland nutrient solution, which was a significant improvement （P〈0.05）. This study suggested that the 2-fold ozone-treated sludge dilution is optimal for lettuce hydroponic nutrient requirements.

The emergence of all-inorganic perovskite CsPbBr_(3)has ignited significant interest in optoelectronic devices,However,CsPbBr_(3)thin film-based photodetectors face performance limitations due to grain boundaries and defect *** address these challenges,we introduce a novel typeⅡheterojunction photodetector utilizing CsPbBr_(3)micro wires(MWs)and CdS nanoribbons(NBs).Remarkably,this photodetector exhibits exceptional characteristics:a high on/off current ratio(1.07×10^(5)),a responsivity of up to 1.35×10^(4)A·W^(-1),specific detectivity of 5.94×10^(15)Jones,external quantum efficiency of2.83×10^(4)%and rapid response/recovery time(400μs/3 ms).These superior performances stem from the exceptional crystalline quality of CsPbBr_(3)MWs and CdS NBs,coupled with the establishment of a typeⅡband alignment at their *** configuration enables efficient carrier separation while suppressing ***,1D CsPbBr_(3)MW/CdS NB heterojunction photodetectors demonstrate reliable imaging capabilities under visible light *** findings present an innovative solution for high-performance perovskite-based photodetectors,holding promise for future commercial applications.
