β-receptor blocker influences return of spontaneous circulation and chemical examination in rats during cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Objective:We investigated the influence of β-receptor blocker metoprolol on return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) in rats with induced myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups:the sham-operated group,the MI group without metoprolol,which was fed the vehicle,and the MI+metoprolol group receiving intragastric *** group was further divided randomly into three subgroups,depending on the dosage of epinephrine administered during subsequent CPR applied after the induction of asphyxial cardiac ***:The ROSC rate was significantly decreased in the low dose subgroup of MI group,unchanged in the medium dose subgroup of MI group,and significantly decreased in the high dose subgroup of MI group,compared with the same dose subgroup of sham-operated ***+metoprolol group had a lower ROSC rate than MI group in the medium dose subgroup,and a higher ROSC rate than MI group in the high dose *** was no difference in blood K+ values of successful rats between MI group and MI+metoprolol *** rats with successful CPR had lower blood K+ values than rats with unsuccessful CPR in each of the three treatment ***:Metoprolol administered to MI rats over a long period significantly improved ROSC rates under an appropriate dose of epinephrine during *** increasing high blood K+ value would attenuate the rate of a successful CPR.

BACKGROUND: The use of corticosteroids in septic shock has been studied for many decades but yielded conflicting results. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate the efficacy and the safety of corticosteroids in immunocompetent patients with septic ***: Medline via Pub Med, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(CENTRAL) in the Cochrane Library, and EMBASE were searched from inception to March 2020. Two reviewers independently identified randomized controlled trials(RCTs) comparing corticosteroids with a control group for immunocompetent patients with septic shock. Data were abstracted and reported following the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Review of Intervention and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA) statement. The efficacy outcome included mortality and shock reversal. The safety outcomes were infection, gastrointestinal bleeding, and ***: Nine RCTs with a total of 1,298 patients were included. Compared with the control group, corticosteroid group did not lower the short-term(28 or 30 days) mortality(risk ratio [RR] 0.95, 95% confidence interval(CI) 0.85 to 1.06, inconsistency [I2]=0%, trial sequential analysis [TSA]-adjusted CI 0.83 to 1.09, moderate-certainty evidence). Corticosteroids significantly shortened the time to shock reversal compared with the control group(mean difference [MD] –21.56 hours;95% CI –32.95 to –10.16, I2=0%;TSA-adjusted CI –33.33 to –9.78, moderate-certainty evidence). The corticosteroid treatment was associated with an increased risk of hyperglycemia but not the infection or gastrointestinal ***: The corticosteroid treatment is not associated with lower short-or longterm mortality compared with placebo in immunocompetent patients with septic shock. BACKGROUND:Penehyclidine is a newly developed anticholinergic *** aimed to investigate the role of penehyclidine in acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning(OP)***:We searched the Pubmed,Cochrane library,EMBASE,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese Biomedical literature(CBM)and Wanfang *** controlled trials(RCTs)recruiting acute OP patients were identifi ed for *** outcomes included cure rate,mortality rate,time to atropinization,time to 60%normal acetylcholinesterase(AchE)level,rate of intermediate syndrome(IMS)and rate of adverse drug reactions(ADR).RESULTS:Sixteen RCTs involving 1,334 patients were identifi *** with the atropineor penehyclidine-alone groups,atropine combined with penehyclidine significantly increased the cure rate(penehyclidine+atropine ***,0.97 vs.0.86,RR 1.13,95%CI[1.07–1.19];penehyclidine+atropine ***,0.93 vs.0.80,RR 1.08,95%CI[1.01–1.15])and reduced the mortality rate(penehyclidine+atropine ***,0.015 vs.0.11,RR 0.17,95%CI[0.06–0.49];penehyclidine+atropine ***,0.13 vs.0.08,RR 0.23,95%CI[0.04–1.28]).Atropine combined with penehyclidine in OP patients also helped reduce the time to atropinization and AchE recovery,the rate of IMS and the rate of *** with a single dose of atropine,a single dose of penehyclidine also signifi cantly elevated the cure rate,reduced times to atropinization,AchE recovery,and rate of ***:Atropine combined with penehyclidine benefi ts OP patients by enhancing the cure rate,mortality rate,time to atropinization,AchE recovery,IMS rate,total ADR and duration of *** combined with atropine is likely a better initial therapy for OP patients than atropine alone.

Background:Rosa chinensis *** Rosa rugosa *** not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional *** two plants have some differences in efficacy,but the flower buds are easily confused for similar *** addition,large-scale cultivation of ornamental rose flowers may lead to a decrease in the effective components of medicinal ***,it is necessary to study the chemical composition and make quality evaluation of Rosae Chinensis Flos(Yueji)and Rosae Rugosae Flos(Meigui).Methods:In this study,40 batches of samples including Meigui and Yueji from different regions in China were collected to establish high-performance liquid chromatography ***,the fingerprints data was analyzed using principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant analysis analysis chemometrics to obtain information on intergroup differences,and non-targeted metabolomic techniques were applied to identify and compare chemical compositions of samples which were chosen from groups with large *** compounds were screened by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot,and finally multi-component quantification was performed to comprehensively evaluate the quality of Yueji and ***:The similarity between the fingerprints of 40 batches roses and the reference print R was 0.73 to 0.93,indicating that there were similarities and differences between the *** principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of fingerprints data,the samples from different origins and varieties were intuitively divided into four *** least-squares discriminant analysis analysis showed that Meigui and Yueji cluster into two categories and the model was reliable.A total of 89 compounds were identified by high resolution mass spectrometry,mainly were flavonoids and flavon

The cGAS–STING pathway plays an important role in ischemia-reperfusion injury in the heart,liver,brain,and kidney,but its role and mechanisms in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury have not been systematically ***,we outline the components of the cGAS–STING pathway and then analyze its role in autophagy,ferroptosis,cellular pyroptosis,disequilibrium of calcium homeostasis,inflammatory responses,disruption of the blood–brain barrier,microglia transformation,and complement system activation following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion *** further analyze the value of cGAS–STING pathway inhibitors in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and conclude that the pathway can regulate cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury through multiple *** of the cGAS–STING pathway may be helpful in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Synergistic promotion strategy of “dual-site” and “dual-path” to enhance the C–C coupling between CO2 and HCHO driven by photoelectrocatalysis

Photoelectrocatalytic coupling CO2and volatile organic compounds （VOCs） is a promising green strategy for the synergistic conversion of the two carbon-containing resources to *** catalytic efficiency is always at the mercy of chemical inertness of CO2and the competitive hydrogen evolution of ***,a modified g-C3N4/ZnAl-LDH Z-scheme heterojunction catalyst with dual reaction site was rationally designed and precisely *** Faraday efficiency of ethanol reached 68.67%with a corresponding formation rate of 227.3μmol *** revealed by in-situ characterizations and density functional theory calculations,CO2and HCHO were absorbed at Zn site and N site,***,*CO generated from CO2and HCHO was converted to*CH3O and*CHO on the dual-active-site *** detailed reaction mechanism experiments indicated that C–C coupling only occurred between*CO and*CH3O in electrocatalysis *** from the“*CO+*CH3O”path,another“*CO+*CHO”coupling path was also detected in photoelectrocatalytic *** selectivity of ethanol was significantly enhanced due to the synthesis of dual-site catalyst and the dual-path coupling path between CO2and HCHO simultaneously driven by light and electricity.

To the editor： Amniotic fluid embolism （AFE）, first described by Meyer in 1926, is a sporadic and unpredictable obstetriccomplication. The incidence of AFE ranges between 2.0 per 100 000 in the United Kingdom1 to 7.7 per 100 000 deliveries in the United States.2 The maternal mortality ratio associated with AFE ranges between 0.5-1.7 deaths per 100 000 live births or deliveries in developed countries.3 AFE is a leading cause of maternal mortality.
