Furfural residues derived nitrogen-sulfur co-doped sheet-like carbon: An excellent electrode for dual carbon lithium-ion capacitors

The state-of-the-art lithium-ion capacitors （LICs）,consisting of high-capacity battery-type anode and high-rate capacitor-type cathode,can deliver high energy density and large power density when comparing with traditional supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries,***,the ion kinetics mismatch between cathode and anode leads to unsatisfied cycling lifetime and anode *** efforts have been devoted to solving the abovementioned *** promising strategy is altering high conductive hard carbon anode with excellent structural stability to match with activated carbon cathode,assembling dual-carbon *** this contribution,one-pot in-situ expansion and heteroatom doping strategy was adopted to prepare sheet-like hard carbon,while activated carbon was obtained involving *** persulfate was used as expanding and doping agent *** furfural residues （FR） were served as carbon *** resulting hard carbon （FRNS-HC） and activated carbon （FRNS-AC）show excellent electrochemical performance as negative and positive electrodes in a lithium-ion battery （LIB）.To be specific,374.2 m Ah g-1and 123.1 m Ah g-1can be achieved at 0.1 A g-1and 5 A g-1when FRNS-HC was tested as *** combined with a highly porous carbon cathode (SBET=2961 m2g-1) synthesized from the same precursor,the LIC showed high specific energy of147.67 Wh kg-1at approximately 199.93 W kg-1,and outstanding cycling life with negligible capacitance fading over 1000 *** study could lead the way for the development of heteroatom-doped porous carbon nanomaterials applied to Li-based energy storage applications.

Osteopontin gene polymorphism in association with systemic lupus erythematosus in Chinese patients

Background Osteopontin （OPN） is one kind of cytokine which can play a number of roles in promoting activation of T lymphocyte, regulating balance between Thl and Th2, participating in cell-induced immunologic response and stimulating B lymphocyte to express multi-clone antibodies. Some researches have showed that OPN may be involved in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus （SLE）. The aim of this study was to investigate possible association of a single nucleotide polymorphism （SNP） at position 9250 in exon 7 of the OPN gene （OPN gene 9250） with SLE in Chinese patients. Methods Totally 158 patients （18 males and 140 females） fulfilled the revised criteria for SLE by the American College of Rheumatology in 1982 and 180 healthy volunteer controls （34 males and 146 females）, all from the south of China, consented to participate in the study. OPN gene 9250 polymorphism was detected by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP）. Results The frequency of ＂IT genotype of the OPN gene 9250 was significantly lower （52.5% vs 70%, P〈0.05） and the frequency of TC genotype of the OPN gene 9250 was significantly higher （43.7% vs 29.4%, P〈0.05） in SLE patients than in controls. There were significant differences in OPN gene 9250 allele and phenotype frequencies between the SLE patients and controls （P〈0.05）. When the SLE patients and controls were separated into men and women, significant differences of frequencies were noted in TT genotype, TC genotype and allele of the OPN gene 9250 in women （P〈0.05） but not in men （P〉0.05）. Conclusions OPN gene 9250 polymorphism appears to be associated with susceptibility to SLE in Chinese Han ethnic population.

In-situ integration of multiple materials with well-defined interfaces as heterostructures is of great interest due to their unique properties and potential for new device *** of its polymorphism and diverse bonding geometries,borophene is a promising candidate for two-dimensional heterostructures,but suitable synthesis conditions have limited its potential *** this end,we demonstrate the vertical borophene and graphene heterostructures which form by epitaxial growth of borophene onto multilayer graphene on Cu substrates via chemical vapor deposition,where hydrogen and NaBH_(4) are respectively used as the carrier gas and the boron *** lattice structure of the as-synthesized borophene well coincides with the predictedα′-boron *** borophene-based photodetector shows an excellent broadband photoresponse from the ultraviolet(255 nm)to the infrared(940 nm)wavelengths,with enhanced responsivity compared to pristine borophene or graphene *** work informs emerging efforts to integrate borophene into nanoelectronic applications for both fundamental investigations and technological applications.

Fractal model of spontaneous imbibition in low-permeability reservoirs coupled with heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and threshold pressure

Spontaneous imbibition(SI)is an important mechanism for enhancing oil recovery in low-permeability *** to the strong heterogeneity,and the non-Darcy flow,the construction of SI model for lowpermeability reservoirs is extremely ***,traditional SI models based on single or averaged capillary tortuosity ignore the influence of heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and the threshold pressure(TP)on ***,in this work,based on capillary model and fractal theory,a mathematical model of characterizing SI considering heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is *** this basis,the threshold pressure was introduced to determine the pore radius at which the wetted phase can displace *** proposed new SI model was verified by imbibition experimental *** study shows that for weakly heterogeneous cores with permeability of 0-1 m D,the traditional SI model can characterize the imbibition process relatively accurately,and the new imbibition model can increase the coefficient of determination by 1.05 ***,traditional model has serious deviations in predicting the imbibition recovery for cores with permeability of 10-50 m *** new SI model coupling with heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and threshold pressure effectively solves this problem,and the determination coefficient is increased from 0.344 to 0.922,which is increased by2.68 *** low-permeability reservoirs,the production of the oil in transitional pores(0.01-0.1μm)and mesopores(0.1-1μm)significantly affects the imbibition recovery,as the research shows that when the heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is ignored,the oil recovery in transitional pores and mesopores decreases by 7.54%and 4.26%,*** analysis shows that increasing interfacial tension,decreasing contact angle,oil-water viscosity ratio and threshold pressure will increase imbibition *** addition,there are critical values for the influence of these factors o

Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)have become increasingly important in advanced lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to their improved safety and mechanical properties compared to organic liquid ***-linked polymers have the potential to further improve the mechanical property without trading off Li-ion *** this study,focusing on a recently developed cross-linked SPE,i.e.,the one based on poly(vinylene carbonate)-poly(ethylene oxide)cross-linked network(PVCN),we used solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques to investigate the fundamental interaction between the chain segments and Li ions,as well as the lithium-ion *** utilizing homonuclear/heteronuclear correlation,CP(cross-polarization)kinetics,and spin-lattice relaxation experiments,etc.,we revealed the structural characteristics and their relations to lithium-ion *** is found that the network formation prevents poly(ethylene oxide)chains from crystallization,which could create sufficient space for segmental tumbling and Li-ion co nductio *** such,the mechanical property is greatly improved with even higher Li-ion mobilities compared to the poly(vinylene carbonate)or poly(ethylene oxide)based SPE analogues.

Siliceous mesocellular foam supported Cu catalysts for promoting non-thermal plasma activated CO_(2) hydrogenation toward methanol synthesis

Electrified non-thermal plasma (NTP) catalytic hydrogenation is the promising alternative to the thermal counterparts, being able to be operated under mild conditions and compatible with green electricity/hydrogen. Rational design of the catalysts for such NTP-catalytic systems is one of the keys to improve the process efficiency. Here, we present the development of siliceous mesocellular foam (MCF) supported Cu catalysts for NTP-catalytic CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol. The findings show that the pristine MCF support with high specific surface area and large mesopore of 784 m2·g−1 and ~8.5 nm could promote the plasma discharging and the diffusion of species through its framework, outperforming other control porous materials (viz., silicalite-1, SiO_(2), and SBA-15). Compared to the NTP system employing the bare MCF, the inclusion of Cu and Zn in MCF (i.e., Cu1Zn1/MCF) promoted the methanol formation of the NTP-catalytic system with a higher space-time yield of methanol at ~275 μmol·g_(cat)^(−1)·h^(−1) and a lower energy consumption of 26.4 kJ^(−1)·mmol_(CH_(3)OH)^(-1) (conversely, ~225 μmol·g_(cat)^(−1)·h^(−1) and ~71 kJ^(−1)·mmol_(CH_(3)OH)^(-1), respectively, for the bare MCF system at 10.1 kV). The findings suggest that inclusion of active metal sites (especially Zn species) could stabilize the CO_(2)/CO-related intermediates to facilitate the surface reaction toward methanol formation.

Crowding-in or Crowding-out:How Infrastructure Investment Affects Household Consumption

This paper constructs a dynamic model of household consumption decisions and accordingly designs empirical analyses to identify how infrastructure investment affects private *** estimation results of provincial panel data reveal that infrastructure investment can not only indirectly promote household consumption through the income channel but also directly promote household consumption expansion through the expectations channel,with a significant"crowding-in"***,the effect is significantly weaker in provinces with a lower housing supply elasticity,showing the"crowding-out"pattern through the wealth *** survey data provide an explanation for individual *** investment has a greater pushing effect on house prices in provinces with a lower housing supply *** house price growth has significant"crowding-out"effects on the consumption of wealthy *** not only significantly weakens the driving effect of infrastructure investment on aggregate household consumption,but also increases wealth inequality in the long *** paper explains how infrastructure investment affects household consumption and the corresponding role played by house prices,providing empirical evidences for theoretical studies related to macro-regulatory policies in China.

Photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2) into small-molecule chemical feedstocks can meet the growing demand for energy and alleviate the global warming. Herein, a p-n ZnO@CDs@Co_(3)O_(4) heterojunction with sandwich structure was constructed by calcination method of self-assembled ZIF-8@CDs@ZIF-67. The ZnO@CDs@Co_(3)O_(4) with well-defined interfacial structure exhibited the significantly enhanced photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction activity, and the optimal catalyst indicated the(CO + CH_(4)) evolution rate of 214.53μmol g^(-1)h^(-1) under simulated solar light, which was superior to ZnO, Co_(3)O_(4) and binary ZnO@Co_(3)O_(4).The internal cavity, exposed active sites, multiple interfaces and constructed p-n heterojunction can facilitate the light harvesting and photoexcited electron transfer. Besides, after introduction of CDs placed in the middle layer between ZnO and Co_(3)O_(4), CDs with excellent photoelectric property further promoted charge separation and migration. This work represents an appealing strategy to construct well-defined photocatalysts for boosting CO_(2) photoreduction.

Effect of lens surgery on health-related quality of life in preschool children with congenital ectopia lentis

AIM:To evaluate the effect of lens surgery on health-related quality of life(HRQoL)of preschool children with congenital ectopia lentis(CEL).METHODS:A prospective self-controlled study was conducted in Zhongshan Ophthalmic *** aged from 5 to 7y whom were diagnosed with CEL and underwent phacoemulsification with scleral-fixated posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation and their parents were enrolled in this *** of them completed the child and proxy(parental)PedsQL™4.0 before and after the *** preoperative scores were compared to their postoperative *** analyses were performed based on gender and preoperative bilateral presenting visual acuity of the ***:Thirty-two children with CEL successfully underwent surgery without any complications,among whom 8 had monocular surgery and 24 had binocular *** and postoperative questionnaires were completed by 32 child-parent *** intervention could significantly improve the vision of affected children(P<0.001).The medians of physical,psychosocial and total health scores self-reported by the children were 68.75(62.50,81.25),65.00(60.00,80.00)and 67.39(60.87,78.26)preoperatively and were 93.75(87.50,100.00),90.00(83.33,96.67)and 89.13(85.32,95.65)*** preoperative scores of the affected children were significantly lower in all scales than age-matched healthy children(P<0.001).All the postoperative scores were significantly higher than the preoperative scores in affected children and their parents(P<0.001).In the physical functioning evaluation,the preoperative score reported by parents of girls was higher than parents of boys(P=0.041),and the postoperative score of girls was higher than that of boys(P=0.036).CONCLUSION:CEL is associated with significantly worse quality of life in preschool *** intervention can significantly improve the HRQoL in affected children from both personal and family perspective.

Exploring plant adaptation strategies to phosphorus limitation induced by nitrogen addition:foliar phosphorus allocation and root functional traits analysis in two dominant subalpine tree species

Plants adapt to the limitation of soil phosphorus(P)induced by nitrogen(N)deposition through a complex interaction of various root and leaf functional *** this study,a pot experiment was conducted to explore the effects of different levels of N addition(control,low N[LN]:25 kg N ha^(-1) yr^(-1),high N[HN]:50 kg N ha^(-1) yr^(-1))on tree growth,leaf nutrient content,foliar P fractions and root characteristics of two dominant tree species,the pioneer species Salix rehderiana Schneid and the climax species Abies fabri(Mast.)Craib,in a subalpine forest in southwestern *** results demonstrated that LN addition had a minimal impact on leaf N and P ***,HN addition significantly decreased the leaf P content in both *** rehderiana exhibited more pronounced increases in specific root length and specific root area under P deficiency triggered by HN addition when compared with *** contrast,*** showed weaker morphological responses to N addition but had a higher proportion of foliar P to metabolic P,as well as higher root exudates rate and root phosphatase activity in response to HN *** fabri employs a synergistic approach by allocating a greater amount of leaf P to metabolite P and extracting P from the soil through P-mobilizing exudates and root phosphatase activity,while *** exhibits higher flexibility in modifying its root morphology in response to P limitation induced by HN *** study provides insights into subalpine tree species adaptation to N-induced P limitation,emphasizing its significance for guiding forest management and conservation in the context of global climate change.
