Influence of education and working background on physicians' knowledge of secondary prevention guidelines for coronary heart disease: results from a survey in China

Background and objective： In clinical practice, the standard of secondary prevention for coronary heart disease （CHD） is quite disappointing in China. The physicians＇ shortage of knowledge of secondary prevention guidelines is thought to be a key factor contributing to the inadequate and delayed translation of guidelines into clinical practice. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of physicians＇ characteristics, including their educa- tion and work experience, on their knowledge of secondary prevention in China. Methods： A representative ques- tionnaire survey was made of physicians from cardiology departments in 35 tertiary hospitals in China. The survey contained 19 questions on knowledge of guideline recommendations for the secondary prevention of CHD. We col- lected basic information about the physicians, including their educational degree, clinical practice duration/work experience and geographic region. Results： In total, 864 physicians participated in the survey. Eight hundred and thirty-seven completed questionnaires were analyzed. For 6 of the 19 questions, physicians with a postgraduate degree were more likely to answer correctly than those without such a degree. For 11 of the 19 questions, physicians with more than three years＇ clinical experience were more likely to answer correctly than those who had less than three years＇ experience. For 5 of the 19 questions, *** eastern areas were more likely to answer correctly than those from mid/western areas. The mean total score of correct answers to the questionnaire was 11.69 points. Edu- cational degree and clinical practice duration affected total scores significantly while practice location did not （β=0.500, P=0.004; ,β=0.979, P=0.000; and 8=0.228, P=0.162, respectively）. Even if a relatively low score of 12 is taken as a threshold level of acceptable knowledge （defined as a pass）, the pass rate of all physicians was only 53.9%. A sand culture experiment was conducted to determine the effects of different seawater (5% and 10%) treatments on plant growth,inorganic ions,indole alkaloid concentrations and yields of Catharanthus roseus,in an effort to increase the alkaloid yield by artificial *** total fresh and dry weights and tissue K + concentrations decreased,but Na + concentrations increased in the plant roots,stems and leaves of *** under seawater stress as compared to the *** concentrations and yields of vindoline,catharanthine,vinblastine and vincristine increased under seawater *** concentrations and yields of these alkaloids were higher in 5% seawater-treated plants than those in the 10% seawater-treated *** the industrial production,5% seawater treatments could reduce the cost of producing *** the control plants,the highest alkaloid concentrations reached a peak at 100 days after planting,suggesting that plant harvest must be optimized in terms of growth duration.

Objective Tuberculosis remains one of the most serious infectious diseases in the world. In this study, a scheme of Mycobacterium tuberculosis （M. tuberculosis） multilocus sequence analysis （MLSA） was established for the phylogenetic and epidemiology analysis. Methods To establish the scheme of M. tuberculosis MLSA, the genome of H37Rv, CCDC5079 and CCDC5180 were compared, and some variable genes were chosen to be the MLSA typing scheme. 44 M. tuberculosis clinical isolates were typed by MLSA, IS6110-RFLP, and soligotyping, to evaluate the MLSA methods. Results After comparison of the genome, seven high discrimination gene loci （recX, rpsL, rmlC, rpmG1, mprA, gcvH, ideR） were chosen to be the MLSA typing scheme finally. 11 variable SNP sites of those seven genes were found among the 44 M. tuberculosis isolate strains and 11 sequence types （STs） were identified. Based on the Hunter-Gaston Index （HGI）, MLSA typing was not as good for discrimination at the strain level as IS6110-RFLP, but the HGI was much better than that of spoligotyping. In addition, the MEGA analysis result of MLSA data was similar to spoligotyping/PGG lineage, showing a strong phylogenetic signal in the modern strains of M. tuberculosis. The MLSA data analysis by eBURST revealed that 4 sequence types （ST） came into a main cluster, showing the major clonal complexes in those 44 strains. Conclusion MLSA genotyping not only can be used for molecular typing, but also is an ideal method for the phylogenetic analysis for M. tuberculosis.

Objective To study the possibility of removing nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic pollutants using seeding type immobilized microorganisms. Methods Lakes P and M in Wuhan were chosen as the objects to study the removal of nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic pollutants with the seeding type immobilized microorganisms. Correlations between the quantity of heterotrophic bacteria and the total nitrogen （TN）, total phosphorus （TP）, and total organic carbon （TOC） in the two lakes were studied. The dominant bacteria were detected, inoculated to the sludge and acclimated by increasing nitrogen, phosphorus and decreasing carbon source in an intermittent, time-controlled and fixed-quantity way. The bacteria were then used to prepare the seeding type immobilized microorganisms, selecting diatomite as the adsorbent cartier. The ability and influence factors of removing nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic pollutant from water samples by the seeding type immobilized microorganisms were studied. Results The coefficients of the heterotrophic bacterial quantity correlated with TOC, TP, and TN were 0.9143, 0.8229, 0.7954 in Lake P and 0.9168, 0.7187, 0.6022 in Lake M. Ten strains of dominant heterotrophic bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas, Coccus, Aeromonas, Bacillus, and Enterobateriaceae, separately, were isolated. The appropriate conditions for the seeding type immobilized microorgansims in purifying the water sample were exposure time=24 h, pH=7.0-8.0, and quantity of the immobilized microorganisms=0.75-1g/50 mL. The removal rates of TOC, TP, and TN under the above conditions were 80.2%, 81.6%, and 86.8%, respectively. Conclusion The amount of heterotrophic bacteria in the two lakes was correlated with TOC, TP, and TN. These bacteria could be acclimatized and prepared for the immobilized microorganisms which could effectively remove nitrogen, phosphorus, and mixed organic pollutants in the water sample.

The synergistic extraction of uranium (VI) from nitric acid aqueous solution with a mixture of tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) and petroleum sulfoxides(PSO) in benzene was studied. It has been found that the maximum synergistic extraction effect occurs where the molar ratio of PSO to TBP is one to two. The composition of the complex of synergistic extraction is UO2(NO3)***. The formation constant of the complex KTp=57.44.

Recently,intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator MnBi_(2)Te_(4) has drawn intense research interest and leads to plenty of significant progress in physics and materials science by hosting quantum anomalous Hall effect,axion insulator state,and other quantum *** essential ingredient to realize these quantum states is the magnetic gap in the topological surface states induced by the out-of-plane ferromagnetism on the surface of MnBi_(2)Te_(4).However,the experimental observations of the surface gap remain ***,we report the observation of the surface gap via the point contact tunneling *** agreement with theoretical calculations,the gap size is around 50 me V,which vanishes as the sample becomes paramagnetic with increasing *** magnetoresistance hysteresis is detected through the point contact junction on the sample surface with an out-of-plane magnetic field,substantiating the surface ***,the non-zero transport spin polarization coming from the ferromagnetism is determined by the point contact Andreev reflection *** these results,the magnetism-induced gap in topological surface states of MnBi_(2)Te_(4) is revealed.

Robust, ultra-flexible, and multifunctional MXene-basedelectromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding nanocomposite filmsexhibit enormous potential for applications in artificial intelligence,wireless telecommunication, and portable/wearable electronic *** this work, a nacre-inspired multifunctional heterocyclic aramid(HA)/MXene@polypyrrole (PPy) (HMP) nanocomposite paper withlarge-scale, high strength, super toughness, and excellent tolerance tocomplex conditions is fabricated through the strategy of HA/MXenehydrogel template-assisted in-situ assembly of PPy. Benefiting from the"brick-and-mortar" layered structure and the strong hydrogen-bondinginteractions among MXene, HA, and PPy, the paper exhibits remarkable mechanical performances, including high tensile strength (309.7 MPa),outstanding toughness (57.6 MJ m−3), exceptional foldability, and structural stability against ultrasonication. By using the template effect ofHA/MXene to guide the assembly of conductive polymers, the synthesized paper obtains excellent electronic conductivity. More importantly,the highly continuous conductive path enables the nanocomposite paper to achieve a splendid EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 54.1 dBat an ultra-thin thickness (25.4 μm) and a high specific EMI SE of 17,204.7 dB cm2g−1. In addition, the papers also have excellent applicationsin electromagnetic protection, electro-/photothermal de-icing, thermal therapy, and fire safety. These findings broaden the ideas for developinghigh-performance and multifunctional MXene-based films with enormous application potential in EMI shielding and thermal management.

Bending Stiffness of Concrete-Filled Steel Tube and Its Influence on Concrete Placement Timing of Composite Beam-String Structure

When the upper chord beam of the beam-string structure(BSS)is made of concrete-filled steel tube(CFST),its overall stiffness will change greatly with the construction of concrete placement,which will have an impact on the design of the tensioning plans and selection of control measures for the *** order to accurately obtain the bending stiffness of CFST beam and clarify its impact on the mechanical properties of composite BSS during construction,the influence of some factors such as height-width ratio,wall thickness of steel tube,elasticity modulus of concrete,and friction coefficient on the bending stiffness are analyzed parametrically by the numerical simulation technology based on an actual *** calculation formula of the equivalent bending stiffness of CFST is also established through mathematical statistical ***,the equivalent bending stiffness is introduced into the construction and use stages of the composite BSS,respectively,and the mechanical properties such as prestress-tensioning control value,structural deformation,and internal force of key members are comparatively analyzed when adopting two different construction ***,the optimal construction plan of concrete placement first and then prestress-tensioning is proposed.
