A rocky hill on the continuous ejecta of Ziwei crater revealed by the Chang’e-3 mission

The Chinese Chang’e-3 mission landed close to the eastern rim of the ~450 m diameter Ziwei crater. Regional stratigraphy of the landing site and impact excavation model suggest that the bulk continuous ejecta deposits of the Ziwei crater are composed by Erathothenian-aged mare basalts. Along the traverse of the Yutu rover, the western segment features a gentle topographic uplift(~0.5 m high over ~4 m), which is spatially connected with the structurally-uplifted crater rim. Assuming that this broad topographic uplift has physical properties discontinuous with materials below, we use data returned by the high-frequency lunar penetrating radar onboard the Yutu rover to estimate the possible range of relative permittivity for this topographic uplift. Only when the relative permittivity is ~9 is the observed radar reflection consistent with the observed topography, suggesting that the topographic uplift is composed of basaltic blocks that were excavated by the Ziwei crater. This result is consistent both with the impact excavation model that predicts deeper basaltic materials being deposited closer to the crater rim, and with observation of numerous half-buried boulders on the surface of this hill. We note that this study is the first to use topography and radargram data to estimate the relative permittivity of lunar surface uplifts, an approach that has had many successful applications on Mars. Similar approaches can apply other ground penetrating radar data for the Moon, such as will be available from the ongoing Chang’e-4 mission.

BGLS-based method of estimating the rotational periods of asteroids

As the asteroid rotational period is important to the study of the properties of asteroids(e.g.,super-fast rotators have structures owing an internal cohesion(rather than being rubble piles bounded by gravity only) so as not to fly apart), constructing an effective and fast method used to search the period attracts much researchers' attention. Recently, the Bayesian generalized Lomb–Scargle(BGLS)periodogram was developed to improve the convergence efficiency of the Lomb–Scargle method. However,the result of BGLS varies with the frequency range and cannot meet the two minimum/maximum requirements for a complete rotation of the asteroid. We propose a robust BGLS-based method that efficiently determines rotational periods. The proposed method employs a polynomial series to fit folded light curves with potential periods, initially calculated using the BGLS periodogram, and adopts a merit function to estimate and refine best-fit periods. We estimate the rotational periods of 30 asteroids applying the new method to light curves from the Palomar Transient Factory. Results confirm the effectiveness of the BGLS-based method in deriving rotational periods from ground-based observations of asteroids. Further application of the BGLS-based method to sparse light curves, such as Gaia data, is discussed.

An active method suppressing rolling mill vibration: disturbance estimation and compensation algorithm

The rolling mill vibration not only seriously causes the strip thickness heterogeneity, but also damages the rolling mill equipment and its electrical components. Existing vibration suppression methods are passive and mainly tune mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and rolling process parameters. A new active vibration suppression method was thus proposed using the disturbance estimation and compensation algorithm. Firstly, the hydraulic-mechanical coupling model of the rolling mill vibration was established, and an active vibration suppressor was designed based on the extended state observer. Then, through the numerical simulation, it is found that the vibration energy is reduced by 35.3% using the vibration suppressor, and the vibration suppressor is valid when the vibration frequency is lower than 60 Hz Finally, the vibration suppressor was applied to the in-site manufacturing, and the expected vibration suppression was obtained. The method makes the produced steel strip have more uniform thickness and further significantly increases the finished product ratio.

Ifosfamide, Cisplatin or Carboplatin, and Etoposide （ICE）-based Chemotherapy for Mobilization of Autologous Peripheral Blood Stem Cells in Patients with Lymphomas

Background： High-dose chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation （ASCT） is a promising approach tbr lymphomas. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of ifosfamide, cisplatin or carboplatin, and etoposide （ICE）-based regimen as a mobilization regimen on relapsed, refractory, or high-risk aggressive lymphoma. Methods： From June 2001 to May 2013, patients with lymphomas who mobilized by ICE-based regimen for ASCT were analyzed in this retrospective study. The results of the autologous peripheral blood stem cells collection, toxicity, engraftment after ICE-based mobilization regimen were analyzed in this study. Furthermore, risk factors for overall survival （OS） and progression free survival （PFS） were evaluated by univariate analysis. Results： The stem cells were mobilized using ICE-based regimen plus rituximab or ICE-based regimen alone in 12 patients and 54 patients, respectively. The results of stem cell mobilization were excellent. Ninety-seven percentages of the patients had the stein cell collection of at least 2.0 ×10^6, CD34^＋ cells/kg and 68% had at least 5 × 10^6, CD34^＋ cells/kg. Fifty-eight percentage of the patients experienced Grade 4 neutropenia, 20% developed febrile neutropenia, and only 12% had Grade 4 thrombocytopenia. At a median follow-up of 63.8 months, the 5-year PFS and OS were 64.4% and 75.3%, respectively. Conclusion： ICE is a powerful regimen for stem cell mobilization in patients with lymphomas.

Background Overexpression of breast cancer-specific gene 1 （SNCG） is associated with poor prognosis in advanced breast cancer patients. This study aimed to determine the effects of SNCG knockdown in breast cancer cells by using small hairpin RNA （shRNA）.Methods Four different SNCG shRNA oligonucleotides were designed and chemically synthesized to construct mammalian expression vectors. These vectors were then stably transfected into a breast cancer MCF-7 cell line to knockdown SNCG expression. After SNCG knockdown was confirmed, the stable cell lines were inoculated into nude mice. SNCG mRNA and protein expressions were analyzed by semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） and immunohistochemistry, respectively in both the stable cell lines and *** All four SNCG shRNA constructs significantly reduced SNCG mRNA and protein levels in MCF-7 cells, as compared to the unrelated sequence control shRNA and the liposome control mice （P〈0.05）. SNCG-knockdown MCF-7cells formed significantly smaller tumor masses than cells expressing the unrelated sequence control or the liposome control mice （P〈0.05）.Conclusion SNCG shRNA effectively suppressed breast cancer cell formation in vivo and may be a useful clinical strategy to control breast cancer

为建立检测马病毒性动脉炎病毒(EAV)的荧光定量RT-PCR检测方法,本研究针对EAV ORF7基因序列设计引物及探针,并对其反应体系进行优化,建立标准曲线,结果显示,EAV荧光定量RT-PCR方法在退火温度为61℃、引物和探针终浓度均为0.6μmol/L的反应条件下效果最优;质粒标准品体外转录的cRNA在1.6×10^(7)拷贝/μL~1.6×10^(2)拷贝/μL时与Ct值之间呈现良好的线性关系,标准曲线方程为y=-2.68x+32.88,R^(2)=0.9927,初步建立了EAV荧光定量RT-PCR方法。采用该方法检测EAV、马焦虫、马疱疹病毒1型、马疱疹病毒4型、马流感病毒,结果显示,该方法仅能特异性检测到EAV,其他病原检测均为阴性,该方法特异性强;将体外转录合成的质粒标准品cRNA 10倍倍比稀释后利用该方法检测,结果显示该方法最低检测限为1.6×10^(2)拷贝/μL,灵敏性高;重复性试验结果显示,该方法组内及组间变异系数均小于2.0%,重复性好。采用本实验建立的荧光定量RT-PCR方法和文献发表的EAV荧光定量RT-PCR方法分别对234份临床样品进行检测,两者的阳性检出率均为14.1%(33/234),两种方法的符合率为100%。本研究建立的荧光定量RT-PCR检测方法为马病毒性动脉炎的防控提供了新的技术手段和思路。
