Aim To detect the expression of nerve growth factor （NGF） and vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma （SACC） tissues, as well as to determine the correlation between growth factor expression and prognosis in SACC. Methodology Medical records of 63 patients surgically treated for SACC between January 1988 and October 2005 were reviewed. Immunohistochemistry was performed to examine the expression of NGF and VEGF in tumor tissues. Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox＇s proportional hazard regression model were applied to assess predictors of survival. Results NGF and VEGF were overexpressed in SACC tissues, compared with those in normal salivary tissues （P〈0.05）, and the staining intensity of these two factors was stronger in groups of solid subtype, advanced TNM stage, perineural invasion and recurrence. Patients with high- expression of NGF and VEGF, solid subtype, advanced stage, perineural invasion, recurrence and extended resection alone had worse survival rates （P〈0.05）. Conclusion NGF and VEGF are expressed increasingly in the tissues of SACC cases with invasion and metastasis. NGF expression and VEGF expression are independent prognosis factors for survival.

The conversion of electromagnetic energy into heat by nanomagnets has the potential to be a powerful, non-invasive technique for cancer therapy by hyperthermia and hyperthermia-based drug release, while temperature controllability and targeted heating are challenges to developing applications of such magnetic inductive hyperthermia. This study was designed to control the hyperthermia position and area using a combination of alternating current （AC） and a static magnetic field. MnZn ferrite （MZF） nanoparticles which exhibited excellent hyperthermia properties were first prepared and characterized as an inductive heating mediator. We built model static magnetic fields simply using a pair of permanent magnets and studied the static magnetic field distributions by measurements and numerical simulations. The influence of the transverse static magnetic fields on hyperthermia properties was then investigated on MZF magnetic fluid, gel phantoms and SMMC-7721 cells in vitro. The results showed a static magnetic field can inhibit the temperature rise of MZF nanoparticles in an AC magnetic field. But in the uneven static magnetic field formed by a magnet pair with repelling poles face-to-face, the heating area can be restricted in a central low static field; meanwhile the side effects of hyperthermia can be reduced by a surrounding high static field. As a result we can position the hyperthermia area, protect the non-therapeutic area, and reduce the side effects lust by using a well-designed combination of AC and static field.

Background： Claudin-5, claudin-9, and claudin-11 are expressed in endothelial cells to constitute tight junctions, and their deficiency may lead to hyperpermeability, which is the initiating process and pathological basis of cardiovascular *** tongxinluo （TXL） has satisfactory antianginal effects, whether and how it modulates claudin-5, claudin-9, and claudin-1 1 in hypoxia-stimulated human cardiac microvascular endothelial cells （HCMECs） have not been ***： In this study, HCMECs were stimulated with CoCl2 to mimic hypoxia and treated with ***, the messenger RNA （mRNA） expression of claudin-5, claudin-9, and claudin-l 1 was ***, the protein content and distribution of claudin-9, as well as cell morphological changes were evaluated after TXL ***, the distribution and content histone H3K9 acetylation （H3K9ac） in the claudin-9 gene promoter, which guarantees transcriptional activation, were examined to explore the underlying mechanism, by which TXL up-regulates claudin-9 in hypoxia-stimulated ***： We found that hypoxia-suppressed claudin-9 gene expression in HCMECs （F=7.244;P =0.011） and the hypoxia-suppressed claudin-9 could be reversed by TXL （F=61.911;P =0.000）, which was verified by its protein content changes （F=29.142;P =0.000）.Moreover, high-dose TXL promoted the cytomembrane localization of claudin-9 in hypoxia-stimulated HCMECs, with attenuation of cell ***, high-dose TXL elevated the hypoxia-inhibited H3K9ac in the claudin-9 gene promoter （F=37.766;P =0.000）, activating claudin-9 ***： The results manifested that TXL reversed the hypoxia-suppressed claudin-9 by elevating H3K9ac in its gene promoter, playing protective roles in HCMECs.

Background： Endothelial dysflinction is considered as the initiating process and pathological basis of cardiovascnlar disease. Cyclooxygenase-2 （COX-2） and prostacyclin synthase （PGIS）, inducible nitric oxide synthase （iNOS） and endothelial NOS （eNOS） are key enzymes with opposing actions in inflammation and oxidative stress, which are believed to be the major driver of endothelial dysfunction. And in hypoxia （Hx）, Hx-inducible factor （HIF）-1α and HIF-2α are predominantly induced to activate vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, restllting in abnormal proliferation. Whether and how Tongxinluo （TXL） modulates COX-2, PGIS, iNOS, eNOS, HIF-1α, HIF-2α, and VEGF in Hx-stimulated human cardiac microvascular endothelial cells （HCM ECs） have not been clarified. Methods： HCMEC were treated with CoCl2 to mimic Hx and the mRNA expressions of COX-2, PGIS, iNOS, eNOS, HIF-1α, HIF-2α. and VEGF were first confirmed, and then their mRNA expression and protein content as well as the cell pathological alterations were evaluated for TXL treatment with different concentrations, In addition, the effector molecular of inflammation prostaglandin E2 （PGE2） and the oxidative marker nitrotyrosine （NT） was adopted to reflect HCMEC ***. Results： Hx could induce time-dependent increase of COX-2, iNOS, HIF-2α, and VEGF in HCMEC. Based on the Hx-induced increase, TXL could mainly decrease COX-2, iNOS, HIF-2α, and VEGF in a concentration-dependent manner, with limited effect on the increase of PGIS and eNOS. Their protein contents verified the mRNA expression changes, which was consistent with the cell morphological alterations. Furthermore, high dose TXL could inhibit the Hx-induced increase of PG E, and NT contents, attenuating the inflammatory and oxidative injury. Conclusions： TXL could inhibit inflammation-related COX-2, oxidative stress-related iNOS, and H IF-2α/VEGF to antagonize Hx-induced HCMEC injury.

In wireless sensor networks(WSNs),the performance of related applications is highly dependent on the quality of data ***,missing data is almost inevitable in the process of data acquisition and *** methods often rely on prior information such as low-rank characteristics or spatiotemporal correlation when recovering missing WSNs ***,in realistic application scenarios,it is very difficult to obtain these prior information from incomplete data ***,we aim to recover the missing WSNs data effectively while getting rid of the perplexity of prior *** designing the corresponding measurement matrix that can capture the position of missing data and sparse representation matrix,a compressive sensing(CS)based missing data recovery model is ***,we design a comparison standard to select the best sparse representation basis and introduce average cross-correlation to examine the rationality of the established ***,an improved fast matching pursuit algorithm is proposed to solve the *** results show that the proposed method can effectively recover the missing WSNs data.

A novel simply-structured hybrid smart antenna system suitable to be used in ad-hoc network terminals is proposed in this letter. The super-resolution beamforming algorithm is also pre-sented based on the system using DOA estimation results. The algorithm can switch the beamforming to the direction of the expected signal and get the best transmitting performance after the pre-beamforming of the Butler matrix. The shifting value formulas are presented to obtain the best SNR when there is no interfering signal and to acquire the highest Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) as there is one interfering signal. When there are more than one interfering signals,the pre-beamforming feature of the Butler matrix can also suppress the interfering signals. Simulation results verified the algorithm.
