Carbon dioxide conversion into valuable products using photocatalysis and electrocatalysis is an effective approach to mitigate global environmental issues and the energy shortages. Among the materials utilized for catalytic reduction of CO_(2), Cu-based materials are highly advantageous owing to their widespread availability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, Cu-based materials demonstrate interesting abilities in the adsorption and activation of carbon dioxide, allowing the formation of C_(2+) compounds through C–C coupling process. Herein, the basic principles of photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reactions(PCO_(2)RR) and electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reaction(ECO_(2)RR) and the pathways for the generation C_(2+) products are introduced. This review categorizes Cu-based materials into different groups including Cu metal, Cu oxides, Cu alloys, and Cu SACs, Cu heterojunctions based on their catalytic applications. The relationship between the Cu surfaces and their efficiency in both PCO_(2)RR and ECO_(2)RR is emphasized. Through a review of recent studies on PCO_(2)RR and ECO_(2)RR using Cu-based catalysts, the focus is on understanding the underlying reasons for the enhanced selectivity toward C_(2+) products. Finally, the opportunities and challenges associated with Cu-based materials in the CO_(2) catalytic reduction applications are presented, along with research directions that can guide for the design of highly active and selective Cu-based materials for CO_(2) reduction processes in the future.

To produce paraffin from hydrogenation/deoxygenation of palmitic acid,model compound of bio-oil obtained by hydrothermal liquefaction(HTL)of microalgae has been an attractive focus in recent *** order to avoid energy-intensive separation process of water and bio-oil,it is of importance that deoxygenation upgrading of fatty acids under hydrothermal conditions similar to HTL ***,it is the first time to explore the application of activated carbon(AC)-supported non-noble-metal catalysts,such as Ni,Co,and Mo,and so on,in the hydrothermal hydrogenation/deoxygenation of long-chain fatty acids,and the obtained Ni/AC-H(the Ni/AC was further H_(2)pre-reduced)is one of the best *** addition,it is found that the catalytic activity can be further improved by H_(2)pre-reduction of *** results that are more low valences of nickel and oxygen vacancy can be obtained after H_(2)pre-reduction,thus significant promoting the deoxygenation especially the decarbonylation pathway of fatty *** total alkanes yield can reaches 95.9%at optimal conditions(280℃,360 min).This work confirmed that the low-priced AC-supported non-noble-metal catalysts have great potential compared with the noble-metal catalyst,in hydrothermal upgrading of bio-oil.

Background Prompt diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis （MTB） infection is an essential step in tuberculosis control and elimination. However, it is often difficult to accurately diagnose pediatric tuberculosis （TB）. The tuberculin test （TST） may have a low specificity because of cross-reactivity with antigens present in Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette-Guerin （BCG） and other mycobacteria, especially in China with a predominantly BCG-vaccinated ***-secreted antigenic target 6-kDa protein （ESAT-6） and culture filtrate protein 10 （CFP-10）, stand out as suitable antigens that induce an interferon-gamma （IFN-γ） secreting, T-cell-mediated immune response to infection. While,considered the higher costs and complexity of the IFN-γ release assay （TSPOT）, we aimed to evaluate the TSPOT and TST test in the clinical diagnosis of pediatric tuberculosis and to establish a diagnostic process suitable for *** The sensitivity and specificity of the assay were evaluated in total seventy four children with active tuberculosis and fifty one nontuberculous children with other disease, and then the results were compared with *** regression models were used to identify variables that were associated with positive results for each assay. The independent variables included sex, age, birth place, vaccination history, close contract with an active TB *** The sensitivity of TSPOT was higher than TST in active TB children with or without BCG vaccination, as well as in children with culture-confirmed TB. But the difference was not significant statistically. Combining results of the TSPOT and TST improved the sensitivity to 94.6%. Agreement of the TST and TSPOT was low （77.0%, k=0.203） in active TB patients. The difference in specificity between TSPOT and TST test was statistically significant （94.1% vs.70.6%, P=0.006）. Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(e-NO_(3)RR)offers a promising alternative method for nitrogen cycling and ammonia(NH3)production under ambient ***,the method is still in the dilemma of lowering the reaction overpotential and increasing the reaction *** successfully developed the composition-adjustable Co_(6)Mo_(6)C/Co/N-doped carbon(NC)catalysts by in situ carbonization of Co-based metal-organic framework(MOF)with the constrained phosphomolybdic *** adjusting the ratio of Co0 and Co_(6)Mo_(6)C,Co_(6)Mo_(6)C/Co/NC-3 could satisfy both NO_(3)−conversion at low potential and NH_(x)hydrogenation,and synthesize ammonia efficiently through the synergistic effect of Co0 and Co_(6)Mo_(6)*** achieved an ammonia yield rate as 1233.2μg·h^(−1)·mgcat^(−1)and Faradaic efficiency of NH4+93.6%at−0.33 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Importantly,density functional theory(DFT)calculations and experimental results have demonstrated for the first time the excellent adsorption of nitrite(NO_(2)^(−))by the Mo sites of Co_(6)Mo_(6)C during e-NO_(3)RR,avoiding the undesirable accumulation of NO_(2)^(−).

Direct methanol fuel cell technology recently becomes the focus of both academic and engineering circles,which stimulates the exploitation and utilization of advanced electrode catalysts with high activity and long ***,we demonstrate a robust bottom-up approach to the spatial construction of three-dimensional(3D) spinel manganese-cobalt oxide-modified N-doped graphene nanoarchitectures decorated with ultrasmall Pt nanoparticles(Pt/MnCo_(2)O_(4)-NG) via a controllable selfassembly *** incorporation of MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanocrystals provides abundant hydroxyl sources to promote the oxidative removal of CO-like byproducts on Pt sites,while the existence of 3D porous N-doped graphene networks facilitates the transportation of both ions and electrons in the hybrid system,thus giving rise to remarkable synergetic coupling effects during the methanol oxidation ***,the optimized Pt/MnCo_(2)O_(4)-NG nano architecture expres ses exceptional electrocatalytic properties with a large electrochemically active surface area of 99.5 m^(2)·g^(-1),a high mass activity of1508.3 mA·mg^(-1),strong toxicity resistance and reliable long-term durability,which have obvious competitive advantages over those of conventional Pt/carbon black,Pt/carbon nano tube,Pt/graphene,and Pt/N-doped graphene catalysts with the same Pt usage.

Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))nanosheets have attracted widespread interest in the construction of advanced separation ***,dense stacking and a single functionality have limited the membrane ***,an advanced two-/three-dimensional(2D/3D)g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) membrane is constructed by intercalating 3D TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) nanostructures into g-C_(3)N_(4) *** 3D flower-like nanostructures broaden the transport channels of the composite *** membrane can effectively separate five oil-in-water(O/W)emulsions,with a maximum flux of 3265.67±15.01 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)·bar^(-1) and a maximum efficiency of 99.69%±0.45%for toluene-in-water emulsion(T/W).Meanwhile,the TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) acts as an excellent electron acceptor and provides positive spatial separation of electrons–holes(e^(-)–h^(+)).The formation of 2D/3D heterojunctions allows the material with wider light absorption and smaller bandgap(2.10 eV).These photoelectric properties give the membrane good degradation of three different pollutants,with about 100%degradation for methylene blue(MB)and malachite green(MG).The photocatalytic antibacterial efficiency of the membrane is also about 100%.After cyclic experiment,the membrane maintains its original separation and photocatalytic *** remarkable multifunctional and self-cleaning properties of the g-C_(3)N_(4) based membrane represent its potential value for complex wastewater treatment.

Background Renal angiomyolipoma(RAML)is the most common kidney lesion in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex(TSC),affecting about 80%of *** is a benign tumor that grows over time,usually bilaterally,and can easily lead to kidney complications such as acute ***,we investigated the efficacy and safety of sirolimus in children with TSC-associated RAML and explored the factors affecting tumor disappearance under sirolimus treatment through subgroup *** A prospective cohort study was *** was initiated at 1 mg/(m^(2)×day),and dose adjustments were made by a 2-week titration period to attain a trough blood concentration of 5-10 ng/*** disappearance of RAML in chil-dren after sirolimus treatment was observed,and Cox regression was used to screen the factors affecting tumor *** One hundred and twenty-six patients who met the criteria were *** 3 months,6 months,12 months,and 24 months of follow-up,tumors disappeared in 18(14.3%),30(23.8%),39(31.0%),and 42(33.3%)children,*** disappeared in 50(39.7%)children by the last visit of each individual,and 30(60%)of them occurred within 6 *** multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that patients with a smaller maximum tumor diameter at baseline had a higher tumor disappearance ***-six(29%)patients had stomatitis during the entire treatment period,and no serious *** Sirolimus could promote the disappearance of TSC-related *** disappearance rate was correlated with the maximum diameter at baseline,and the smaller the tumor was,the higher the disappearance *** is well tolerated in the treatment of RAML associated with TSC.

Ferroelectric thin films based on HfO2 have garnered increasing attention worldwide,primarily due to their remarkable compatibility with silicon and scalability,in contrast to traditional perovskite-structured ferroelectric ***,significant challenges remain in their widespread commercial utilization,particularly concerning their notable wake-up effect and limited *** address these challenges,we propose a novel strategy involving the inhomogeneous distribution of Hf/Zr elements within thin films and explore its effects on the ferroelectricity and endurance of Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2) thin *** techniques such as grazing incidence X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and piezoresponse force microscopy,we investigated the structural characteristics and domain switching behaviors of these *** experimental results indicate that the inhomogeneous distribution of Hf/Zr contributes to improving the frequency stability and endurance while maintaining a large remnant polarization in Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2) ferroelectric thin *** adjusting the distribution of Zr/Hf within the Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2) thin films,significant enhancements in the remnant polarization(2Pr>35μC/cm2)and endurance(>109)along with a reduced coercive voltage can be ***,the fabricated ferroelectric thin films also exhibit high dielectric tunability(≥26%)under a low operating voltage of 2.5 V,whether in the wake-up state or *** study offers a promising approach to optimize both the ferroelectricity and endurance of HfO_(2)-based thin films.
