The oxidation of CO on platinum electrodes in an acid solution was studied with the conventional electrochemical methods and the on-line electrochemical mass spectroscopy. It was found that this reaction is strongly determined by the surface morphology of platinum. The pretreatment of platinum electrodes can change the surface properties dramatically, in consequence it can improve the electrocatalytic activity towards the electrooxidation of CO. The existence of surface active sites on the roughened platinum electrodes can be used to explain its high electrocatalysis towards the oxidation of CO.

Marine umbilical is one of the key equipment for subsea oil and gas exploitation,which is usually integrated by a great number of different functional components with *** layout of these components directly affects manufacturing,operation and storage performances of the *** the multi-layer cross-sectional layout design of the umbilical,a quantifiable multi-objective optimization model is established according to the operation and storage *** the manufacturing factors,the multi-layering strategy based on contact point identification is introduced for a great number of functional ***,the GA-GLM global optimization algorithm is proposed combining the genetic algorithm and the generalized multiplier method,and the selection operator of the genetic algorithm is improved based on the steepest descent *** algorithm is used to find the optimal solution in the global space,which can converge from any initial layout to the feasible layout *** feasible layout solution is taken as the initial value of the generalized multiplier method for fast and accurate ***,taking umbilicals with a great number of components as examples,the results show that the cross-sectional performance of the umbilical obtained by optimization algorithm is better and the solution efficiency is ***,the multi-layering strategy is effective and *** design method proposed in this paper can quickly obtain the optimal multi-layer cross-sectional layout,which replaces the manual design,and provides useful reference and guidance for the umbilical industry.

Novel rare-earth (RE;e.g., europium (Eu^(3+)), samarium (Sm^(3+)), and praseodymium (Pr^(3+))) and transition metal (TM^(4+);e.g., manganese (Mn^(4+))) ion single-/co-doped double-perovskite Ca2InTaO6 (CITO) phosphors were prepared and investigated with respect to their crystal structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties. Among them, the CITO:Eu^(3+) phosphors were found to exhibit an ultra-high internal PL quantum yield (89.1%) and good thermal stability (78.7% at 423 K relative to the initial value at 303 K). As such, the corresponding packaged white light-emitting diode (LED) was able to display a remarkable color rendering index (CRI;= 91.51@10 mA). Besides, the potential in applications of anti-counterfeiting fields and a novel LED structure based on flexible phosphor-converted films was also studied. Moreover, due to their different thermal quenching, trivalent lanthanide (Ln^(3+))/Mn^(4+) co-doped CITO phosphors were designed for optical thermometry based on the luminescence intensity ratio (LIR) between different 4f transitions of various Ln^(3+) ions and ^(2)Eg → ^(4)A_(2g) (Mn^(4+)) transition. Particularly, the LIR between the ^(4)G_(5/2) → ^(6)H_(9/2) and ^(2)Eg → ^(4)A_(2g) peaks of the CITO activated with 5 mol% Sm^(3+) and 0.3 mol% Mn^(4+) exhibited the most excellent relative sensitivity (Sr;= 3.80 %·K^(−1)) with beneficial temperature uncertainty of 0.0648 K. Overall, these results are of significance to offer valuable databases for constructing multifunctional high-performance optical platforms using single-/co-doped double-perovskite tantalates.

Interface characteristics between TiN and matrix and their effect on solidification structure

Heterogeneous nucleation is an effective way to promote the dispersion and precipitation of second-phase particles in steel and refine the grain size of the solidification *** only refining as-cast structure grain size,but TiN in ferritic stainless steel can also pin grain boundaries and restrain the overgrowth of grains during *** interface characteristics between TiN and heterogeneous phases(high-melting inclusions and ferrite phase)were studied based on the wetting angles between molten steel with different compositions and TiN substrate,and on the matching degree between TiN and ferrite *** was found that,for the molten steel with the same composition,the wetting angle with the TiN substrate was significantly smaller than the contact angles with the other three substrates,while the wetting angle between ferrite phase and TiN was the *** lattice matching was compared among MgAl_(2)O_(4),TiN andδmatrix by means of a high-resolution transmission electron microscope,which revealed that a coherent or semi-coherent interface was formed between the crystal plane(400)of MgAl_(2)O_(4)and the crystal plane(200)of TiN,as well as between the crystal plane(200)of TiN and the crystal plane(110)ofδmatrix,with a lattice misfit of 5.1%and 3.4%,***,these two characteristics between TiN and ferrite phase were both explained from the perspective of interfacial *** microstructure refinement mechanism from high temperature to room temperature can be better reflected by the proposed wetting–lattice misfit theory.

Beneficial effects of auricular acupressure on preventing constipation in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy:evidence from systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective： To evaluate the available evidence from randomized controlled trials （RCTs） of auricular acupressure （AA） therapy for preventing constipation in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods： The following databases were searched from their inception until August 2017： Ovid Medline, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials （CENTRAL）, and Allied and Alternative Medieine （AMED）. We also searched four Chinese databases： Chinese BioMedical Database （CBM）, China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）, WANFANG Data, and Chinese VIP Database. Only the RCTs related to the effects of AA therapy on preventing constipation in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy were included in this study. Quantitative syntheses of data from RCTs were conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. Study selection, data extraction, and validation were performed independently by two authors. Cochrane criteria for risk of bias were used to assess the methodological quality of the trials. Results： Four RCTs met the inclusion criteria, and most were of low methodological quality. Study participants in the AA plus routine care group showed significantly greater improvements in the response rate （risk ratio [RR] = 1.27, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.14, 1.42], P 〈 0.01） with low heterogeneity （x2=2.31, P =0.31, F = 14%）. In addition, when compared with routine care alone, one RCT suggested favorable statistically significant effects of AA plus routine care on Constipation Assessment Scale （CAS; mean difference [MD] =-5.07, 95% CI [-6.86, -3.28], P 〈 0.01）. Furthermore, when compared with routine care alone, one RCT suggested positive statistically significant effects of AA plus routine care on Patient Assessment of Constipation-Quality of Life （PAC-QOL; MD = -1.26, 95% CI [-1.59, -0.93], P 〈 0.01）. Conclusions： Overall, as a potential safety therapy, only weak evidence can support the hypothesis that AA can effectively prevent constipation in breast cancer

A polymeric gel is an aggregate of polymers and solvent molecules, which can retain its shape after a large deformation. The deformation behavior of polymeric gels was often described based on the Flory-Rehner free energy function without considering the influence of chain entanglements on the mechanical behavior of gels. In this paper,a new hybrid free energy function for gels is formulated by combining the EdwardsVilgis slip-link model and the Flory-Huggins mixing model to quantify the time-dependent concurrent process of large deformation and mass transport. The finite element method is developed to analyze examples of swelling-induced deformation. Simulation results are compared with available experimental data and show good agreement. The influence of entanglements on the time-dependent deformation behavior of gels is also *** study of large deformation kinetics of polymeric gel is useful for diverse applications.

This paper optimizes the electricity and renewable energy credit （REC） purchasing process for energy distribution. Electricity is traded in deregulated time-sequential markets at fluctuating prices. Optimal electricity purchasing under price and demand uncertainty is a challenging task for electricity distributors, and the recently implemented renewable portfolio standards （RPS） further complicate the purchasing process. Government regulatory decisions concerning the RPS require distributors to purchase corresponding certificates, namely RECs, equivalent to a certain percentage of their electricity sales. This paper formulates and optimizes the joint purchasing process for electricity and RECs. It also analyzes the effect of RPS policy on electricity distributors.
