Th immune response induced by H pylori vaccine with chitosan as adjuvant and its relation to immune protection

AIM： To study the immunological protective effect of H pylori vaccine with chitosan as an adjuvant and its mechanism. METHODS： Female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into seven groups and orally immunized respectively with PBS, chitosan solution, chitosan particles, H pylori antigen, H pylori antigen plus cholera toxin （CT）, H pylori antigen plus chitosan solution, Hpylori antigen plus chitosan particles once a week for four weeks. Four weeks after the last immunization, the mice were challenged twice by alive Hpylori （1 × 10^9 CFU/mL） and sacrificed. Part of the gastric mucosa was embedded in paraffin, cut into sections and assayed with Giemsa staining. Part of the gastric mucosa was used to quantitatively culture Hpylori. EUSA was used to detect cytokine level in gastric mucosa and anti- Hpylori IgG1, IgG2a levels in serum. RESULTS： In the groups with chitosan as an adjuvant, immunological protection was achieved in 60% mice, which was significantly higher than in groups with H pylori antigen alone and without H pylori antigen （P 〈 0.05 or 0.001）. Before challenge, the level of IFN and IL-12 in gastric mucosa was significantly higher in the groups with chitosan as an adjuvant than in the control group and the group without adjuvant （P 〈 0.05 or 0.005）. After challenge, the level of IFN and IL-12 was significantly higher in the groups with adjuvant than in the groups without adjuvant and antigen （P 〈 0.05 or 0.001）. Before challenge, the level of IL-2 in gastric mucosa was not different among different groups. After challenge the level of IL-2 was significantly higher in the groups with adjuvant than in the control group （P 〈 0.05 or 0.001）. Before challenge, the level of IL-10 in gastric mucosa was significantly higher in the groups with chitosan as an adjuvant than in other groups without adjuvant （P 〈 0.05 or 0.01）. Climate change has been known to cause variations in the geographically suitable areas for the schistosome-transmitting Oncomelania hupensis(***).The spread of snails not only depends on the degree of warming but also on the socioeconomic development of the next few *** socioeconomic pathways(SSPs)published by CMIP6 consider carbon emission pathways as well as influences of distinct types of social development and land use on the regional climate,providing the possibility to accurately evaluate the impact of socioeconomic development and climate variation on the spread of *** study employed SSP126,SSP245,SSP370,and SSP585 and the correlative approach to explore the impacts of climate change and socioeconomic development on the potential diffusion areas for *** in *** results exhibited strong evidence that *** will spread in the north of the middle and lower reaches of the yangtze River and disappear from a small part of its current southern habitat,whereas in Sichuan and Yunnan,*** may spread slightly to the *** projection also demonstrated that fossil fuel-driven development(SSP585)will be more conducive to the spread of *** breeding sites in the 2030s,whereas the continuous increase in snail breeding habitats under the regional rivalry path(SSP370)may lead to great challenges in snail control in the long term(2020-2080).

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells protect neurons from cardiac arrest-induced pyroptosis

Cardiac arrest can lead to severe neurological impairment as a result of inflammation,mitochondrial dysfunction,and post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation neurological *** preconditioning has been shown to improve migration and survival of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and reduce pyroptosis after cardiac arrest,but the specific mechanisms by which hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells protect against brain injury after cardiac arrest are *** this end,we established an in vitro co-culture model of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and oxygen–glucose deprived primary neurons and found that hypoxic preconditioning enhanced the protective effect of bone marrow stromal stem cells against neuronal pyroptosis,possibly through inhibition of the MAPK and nuclear factor κB ***,we transplanted hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells into the lateral ventricle after the return of spontaneous circulation in an 8-minute cardiac arrest rat model induced by *** results showed that hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells significantly reduced cardiac arrest–induced neuronal pyroptosis,oxidative stress,and mitochondrial damage,whereas knockdown of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase in bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells inhibited these *** conclude,hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells offer a promising therapeutic approach for neuronal injury following cardiac arrest,and their beneficial effects are potentially associated with increased expression of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase following hypoxic preconditioning.

The construction of metal-organic coordination clusters（MCCs） using modular secondary building units is an important method for preparing functional *** this study,two new MCCs modularly assembled from Keggin-type {SiW12O40}H4TC4A=p-tert-Butylthiacalix[4]arene(SiW12) units and thiacalixarene-supported Co4-thiacalix[4]arene(Co4-TC4A polynuclear second-building units（PSBUs,H4TC4A=p-tert-Butylthiacalix[4]arene） are *** two MCCs,abbreviated as Co4-SiW12and Co8-SiW12,were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray *** Co4-SiW12is a supramolecular structure involving cation-anion interactions between Co4-TC4A PSBUs and ***8-SiW12features "barbell-like" shapes with two Co4-TC4A coordinatively linked to a Keggin-type SiW12unit on opposite via W-O_t-Co *** coordination of Co4-TC4A to SiW12in Co8-SiW12resulted in significantly improved photothermal conversion performances compared with Co4-SiW12and pure SiW12or ***-gap determination and photophysical analysis combined with density functional theory calculations indicated the binding mode between Co4-TC4A PSBUs and SiW12,which considerably influences the way of electron transport and the conversion ability of visible light to heat.

Spatiotemporal characteristics and influencing factors of vegetation water use efficiency on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–2020

Water use efficiency （WUE）,as a pivotal indicator of the coupling degree within the carbon–water cycle of ecosystems,holds considerable importance in assessment of the carbon–water balance within terrestrial ***,in the context of global warming,WUE evolution and its primary drivers on the Tibetan Plateau remain *** study employed the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method and the random forest algorithm to decipher the nonlinear trends and drivers of WUE on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–*** indicated an annual mean WUE of 0.8088 gC/mm·m2across the plateau,with a spatial gradient reflecting decrease from the southeast toward the *** manifesting monotonous trends of increase or decrease in WUE accounted for 23.64%and 9.69%of the total,***,66.67%of the region exhibited trend reversals,i.e.,39.94%of the area of the Tibetan Plateau showed transition from a trend of increase to a trend of decrease,and 26.73%of the area demonstrated a shift from a trend of decrease to a trend of *** factors accounted for 70.79%of the variability in *** leaf area index and temperature served as the major driving forces of WUE variation.

针对传统的基于数量参考标准的奖励惩罚契约无法适应当下"多品种,小批量"的需求特点实现供应链协调,本文建立公平偏好情况下,以供应商提供产品的质量水平为参考标准的奖励惩罚契约模型,探讨其对供应链协调的影响。假设在由单个供应商和单个零售商组成的两级供应链系统中零售商具有公平偏好,分别就供应链内各参与主体渠道力量相等和渠道力量不相等这两种情形进行分析。研究发现零售商对自身收益和对公平的关注程度相同时,供应商和零售商会自愿的按照契约进行合作,取得均衡结果,实现供应链协调,且各参与主体渠道力量的不同会对供应链的整体利润产生显著影响。最后使用算例验证了结论。

A Bayesian expectation maximization algorithm for state estimation of intelligent vehicles considering data loss and noise uncertainty

Sideslip angle, yaw rate, and vehicle velocity are essential for intelligent vehicle control. Since these vehicle states are not measured directly, some Kalman-based approaches have been developed to estimate these states using in-vehicle sensors. However, the existing studies seldom account for the influence of sensor data loss on estimation accuracy. In addition,the process and measurement noise change during the estimation process because of the various driving conditions. To address these problems, an expectation-maximization robust extended Kalman filter (EMREKF) is proposed. Firstly, a robust extended Kalman filter (REKF) is developed to deal with the impact of missing measurements. Then, an improved expectation maximization (EM) algorithm that considers data loss is presented to update the noise parameter of the REKF dynamically. Finally,the improved EM is fused with the REKF to form the EMREKF to estimate vehicle state. The experimental results demonstrate that the EMREKF outperforms EKF, REKF, and maximum correntropy criterion EKF for various degrees of data loss and the proposed algorithm has a strong adaptive ability to different driving conditions.
