Geometry and formation mechanism of tension gashes and their implication on the hydrocarbon accumulation in the deep-seated strata of sedimentary basin:A case from shunnan area of Tarim Basin

With the theoretical and technological developments related to cratonic strike-s.ip faults,the shuntuoguole Low Uplift in the Tarim Basin has attracted considerable attention *** by multi-stage tectonic movements,the strike-s.ip faults have controlled the distribution of hydrocarbon resources owing to the special fault characteris.ics and fault-related *** contrast,the kinematics and formation mechanism of strike-s.ip faults.in buried sedimentary basins are difficult to inves.igate,limiting the discus.ion of these faults and hydrocarbon *** this study,we identified the characteris.ics of mas.ive sigmoidal tension gashes(sTGs)that formed in the shunnan area of the Tarim ***-resolution three-dimensional s.is.ic data and attribute analyses were used to inves.igate their geometric and kinematic ***,the stress state of each point of the sTGs was calculated using s.is.ic curvature ***,the formation mechanism of the sTGs and their roles.in controlling hydrocarbon migration and accumulation were *** results suggest that:(1)the sTGs developed in the shunnan area have a wide distribution,with a tensile fault arranged in an enéchelon pattern,showing an s-shaped *** sTGs formed in multiple stages,and differential rotation occurred along the direction of strike-s.ip stress during formation.(2)Near the principal displacement zone of the strike-s.ip faults,the stress value of the sTGs was higher,gradually decreasing at both *** shallow layer deformation was greater than the deep layer deformation.(3)sTGs are critical for connecting source rocks,migrating oil and gas,sealing horizontally,and developing efficient *** study not only provides s.is.ic evidence for the formation and evolution of super large sTGs,but also provides certain guidance for oil and gas exploration in this area.

Machine learning optimization strategy of shaped charge liner structure based on jet penetration efficiency

shaped charge liner (sCL) has been extensively applied in oil recovery and defense industries. Achieving superior penetration capability through optimizing sCL structures presents a substantial challenge due to intricate rate-dependent processes.involving detonation-driven liner collapse, high-speed jet stretching, and penetration. This study introduces an innovative optimization strategy for sCL structures that employs jet penetration efficiency as the primary objective function. The strategy combines experimentally validated finite element method with machine learning (FEM-ML). We propose a novel jet penetration efficiency index derived from enhanced cutoff velocity and shape characteris.ics of the jet via machine learning. This.index effectively evaluates the jet penetration performance. Furthermore, a multi-model fusion based on a machine learning optimization method, called XGBOOsT-MFO, is put forward to optimize sCL structure over a large input space. The strategy's feasibility is demonstrated through the optimization of copper sCL implemented via the FEM-ML strategy. Finally, this strategy is extended to optimize the structure of the recently emerging CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloy conical liners and hemispherical copper liners. in organic solar cells(OsCs),it is an effective way to improve the power conversion efficiency(PCE)by adding a guest component with appropriate absorption and energy levels.in the host ***,a new nonfullerene acceptor(NFA)named TBF-2Cl was developed by the strategy of expanding theπconjugated core of 2,2’-(((4,4,9,9-tetrahexyl-4,9-dihydro-s.indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b’]dithiophene-2,7-diyl)bis(methaneylylidene))bis(5,6-dichloro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-2,1-diylidene))dimalononitrile(iDT-4Cl)with two benzene *** increase of benzene units,TBF-2Cl exhibits higher lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)level of-3.75 eV than that of one benzene unit based NFA iDT-4Cl and fluorene core based NFA F-2Cl,which facilitates enhancing the open-circuit voltage(V_(oc))of ternary ***,TBF-2Cl film shows a medium optical bandgap with the absorption range from 500-800 nm,being well complementary with the wide bandgap polymer donor D18 and narrow bandgap NFA ***,a remarkable PCE of 18.92%with a high short-circuit current density(J_(sc))of 27.40 mA·cm^(-2),a fill factor(FF)of 0.749,especially an outstanding V_(oc) of 0.922 V was achieved for the optimal ternary device based on D18:TBF-2Cl:CH-6F,surpas.ing the binary counterpart(17.08%).The findings provide insight into the development of new guest acceptors for obtaining more efficient OsCs.

Eutectic-derived synthesis of hierarchically nanoporous copper for electrochemical actuation and solar steam generation

The utilization of nanoporous copper(np-Cu)as a metallic actuator has gained attention in recent years due to its cost-effectiveness.in comparison to other precious *** this,the enhancement of np-Cu’s actuation performance remains a challenge due to limitations.in its strain amplitude and actuation ***,np-Cu has been deemed as a promising material for solar absorption due to its localized surface plasmon resonance ***,practical applications such as solar steam generators(ssGs)utilizing np-Cu have yet to be *** this study,we present the development of hierarchically nanoporous copper(HNC)through the dealloying of a eutectic Al-Cu *** hierarchical structure of the HNC features a combination of ordered flat channels and randomly distributed continuous nanopores,which work in synergy to improve actuation *** ordered flat channels,with a sub-micron scale,facilitate rapid mass transport of electrolyte ions,while the nano-sized continuous pores,due to their large specific surface area,enhance the induced *** results.indicate that the HNC exhibits.improved actuation performance,with a two times.increase in both strain amplitude and rate in comparison to other reported ***,the HNC,for the first time,showcases excellent solar steam generation capabilities,with an evaporation rate of 1.47 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) and a photothermal conversion efficiency of 92%under a light intensity of 1 kW·m^(-2),which rivals that of nanoporous gold and silver *** enhanced actuation performance and newly discovered solar steam generation properties of the HNC are attributed to its hierarchically porous structure.

Molecular packing tuning via chlorinated end group enables efficient binary organic solar cells over 18.5%

Designing novel nonfullerene acceptors(NFAs.is of vital importance for the development of organic solar cells(OsC).Modification on the side chain and end group are two powerful tools to construct efficient ***,based on the high-performance L8BO,we selected 3-ethylheptyl to subs.itute the inner chain of 2-ethylhexyl,obtaining the backbone of *** we introduced different halogen atoms of fluorine and chlorine on 2-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1Hinden-1-ylidene)malononitrile end group(EG)to construct efficient NFAs named BON3-F and BON3-Cl,*** donor D18 was chosen to combine with two novel NFAs to construct OsC ***,D18:BON3-Cl-based device shows a remarkable power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 18.57%,with a high open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))of 0.907 V and an excellent fill factor(FF)of 80.44%,which is one of the highest binary PCE of devices based on D18 as the ***,BON3-F-based device shows a relatively lower PCE of 17.79%with a decreased FF of 79.05%.The better photovoltaic performance is mainly attributed to the red-s.ifted absorption,higher electron and hole mobilities,reduced charge recombination,and enhanced molecular packing in the D18:BON3-Cl ***,we performed stability tests on two binary systems;the D18:BON3-Cl and D18:BON3-F devices maintain 88.1%and 85.5%of their initial efficiencies after 169 h of storage at 85°C in an N2-filled glove box,*** work demonstrates the importance of selecting halogen atoms on EG and provides an efficient binary system of D18:BON3-Cl for further improvement of PCE.

study of the pressure transient behavior of directional wells considering the effect of non-uniform flux distribution

During the production,the fluid in the vicinity of the directional well enters the wellbore with different rates,leading to non-uniform flux distribution along the directional ***,in all exis.ing studies.it is oversimplified to a uniform flux distribution,which can result in inaccurate results for field ***,this paper proposes a semi-analytical model of a directional well based on the assumption of non-uniform flux ***,the direction well is discretized into a carefully chosen series of linear sources,such that the complex well trajectory can be captured and the nonuniform flux distribution along the wellbore can be considered to model the three-dimensional flow *** using the finite difference method,we can obtain the numerical solutions of the transient flow within the *** the aid of Green's function method,we can obtain the analytical solutions of the transient flow from the matrix to the *** complete flow behavior of a directional well is perfectly represented by coupling the above two types of transient ***,on the basis of the proposed model,we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the pressure transient behavior of a directional *** computation results show that the flux variation along the direction well has a significant effect on pressure *** addition,the directional well in an infinite reservoir may exhibit the following flow regimes:wellbore afterflow,transition flow,inclined radial flow,elliptical flow,horizontal linear flow,and horizontal radial *** horizontal linear flow can be observed only if the formation thickness.is much smaller than the well ***,a dip region that appears on the pressure derivative curve indicates the three-dimensional flow behavior near the wellbore.

surface-induced Microstructure and Performance Changes.in P3HT Ultrathin Films

in this work,poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)ultrathin films(P3HT-T)were prepared by s.in-coating a dilute P3HT solution(in a toluene:o-dichlorobenzene(Tol:ODCB)blend with a volume ratio of 80:20)with ultrasonication and the addition of the nucleating agent bicycle[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid disodium salt(HPN-68L)on glass,si wafers and indium tin oxide(iTO)*** electrical and mechanical properties of the P3HT-T ultrathin films were inves.igated,and it was found that the conductivity and crack onset strain(COs)were simultaneously improved in comparison with those of the corresponding pris.ine P3HT film(P3HT-0,without ultrasonication and nucleating agent)on the same substrate,regardless of what substrate was ***,the conductivity of P3HT-T ultrathin films on different substrates was similar(varying from 3.7 s·cm^(-1)to 4.4 s·cm^(-1)),yet the COs.increased from 97%to 138%by varying the substrate from a si wafer to *** grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray diffraction(GiXRD),UV-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy(AFM),we found that the solid order and crystallinity of the P3HT-T ultrathin film on the si wafer are highest,followed by those on glass,and much lower on ***,the surface energy and roughness of three substrates were inves.igated,and it was found that the polar component of the surface energyγp plays a critical role in determining the crystalline microstructures of P3HT ultrathin films on different *** work indicates that the P3HT ultrathin film can obviously improve the stretchability and simultaneously retain similar electrical performance when a s.itable substrate is *** findings offer a new direction for research on stretchable CP ultrathin films to facilitate future practical applications.

identifying how leaf habit subdivisions link to the fast–slow and avoidance–tolerance trait tradeoffs can provide new insight into divergence in ecophysiological strategies among plant functional groups. Here, we tested a hypothesis that the differentiation across deciduous, semi-deciduous and evergreen woody species contributes to physiological trait tradeoffs.in a dry-hot valley savanna. We inves.igated 11 photosynthetic, morphological and hydraulic traits of 24 species.including 8 deciduous, 10 semi-deciduous and 6 evergreen species. Deciduous species were grouped in the fast and avoidance side associated with high values of maximum photosynthetic rates,stomatal conductance and leaf size, while evergreen species were grouped in the slow and tolerance side associated with high photosynthetic water use efficiency, leaf mass per area, sapwood density, Huber value, leaf water potential at turgor loss point and water potential causing 50% loss of stem hydraulic conductance. semideciduous species generally had intermediate trait values and represented different physiological characteris.ics when compared to deciduous and evergreen species. The physiological trait tradeoffs showed a close linkage to the differentiation of these three leaf habits. Our findings clearly reveal trait tradeoffs related to fast–slow and avoidance–tolerance strategies among diverse savanna plants, sugges.ing a syndrome in multiple ecophysiology strategies across different leaf habits.
