Considerable research efforts have been devoted to increase phosphorus(P)availability during aerobic composting.However,there is little discussion weather the dissolved organic carbon(DOC)controls the transformation among P-fractions.Thus,we investigated the changes in DOC compositions and P-fractions during biochar-amended composting(wet weight basis,5%and 10%).TP content continuously increased since the'concentration effect'during aerobic composting.NaHCO_(3)-Pi,NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi were main P-fractions,and biochar can improve P-bioavailability by transforming NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi into NaHCO_(3)-Pi.Structure equation models(SEMs)indicated that biochar enhanced the P-bioavailability through regulating the decomposition of DOC.our results at least hint that the activation mechanism on P under the influence of DOC during biochar-amended composting.

Cellular senescence refers to a process that cellular proliferation and differentiation modulated by the multiple stimulating factors gradually decline. Aging cells present the irreversible stop of proliferation and differentiation and change in secretory function because the cell cycle of aging cells is steadily blocked at some point. It has have been shown that cellular senescence plays an important role in the occurrence and development of liver diseases. In this paper, we review the advances in relations between cellular senescence and liver diseases.

In this study,a new energetic hybrid skeleton was constructed through the integration of nitropyrazole and 1,3,4-oxadiazole skeletons in a molecule.Furthermore,the energetic precursor(2),the azo-bridged compound(3),the neutral nitramine(4)and the corresponding energetic salts(5-7)were synthesized.Their physicochemical and energetic properties we re experimentally and theo retically evaluated.Among the developed compounds,the azo-bridged compound(3)and dihydroxylammoinium(6)display high detonation performances(3,D_(v)=8904 m/s,P=34.47 GPa;6,D_(v)=9025 m/s,P=34.66 GPa),moderate sensitivities(3,IS=16 J,FS=120 N;6,IS=20 J,FS=312 N)and good densities(3,1.87 g/cm^(3);6,1.81 g/cm^(3)),which indicates that they have the potential to replace the traditional high-energy explosive RDX.The results show that the integration of different energetic skeletons can achieve a good balance between energy and sensitivity.

With the increasing scale of energy storage,it is urgently demanding for further advancements on battery technologies in terms of energy density,cost,cycle life and safety.The development of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)not only relies on electrodes,but also the functional electrolyte systems to achieve controllable formation of solid electrolyte interphase and high ionic conductivity.In order to satisfy the needs of higher energy density,high-voltage(>4.3 V)cathodes such as Li-rich layered compounds,olivine LiNiPO_(4),spinel LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) have been extensively studied.However,high-voltage cathodebased LIBs fade rapidly mainly owing to the anodic decomposition of electrolytes,gradually thickening of interfacial passivation layer and vast irreversible capacity loss,hence encountering huge obstacle toward practical applications.To tackle this roadblock,substantial progress has been made toward oxidation-resistant electrolytes to block its side reaction with high-voltage cathodes.In this review,we discuss degradation mechanisms of electrolytes at electrolyte/cathode interface and ideal requirements of electrolytes for high-voltage cathode,as well as summarize recent advances of oxidation-resistant electrolyte optimization mainly from solvents and additives.With these insights,it is anticipated that development of liquid electrolyte tolerable to high-voltage cathode will boost the large-scale practical applications of high-voltage cathode-based LIBs.

Five new terpenoids,including two vibsane-type diterpenoids(1,2)and three iridoid allosides(3-5),together with eight known ones,were isolated from the leaves and twigs of Viburnum odoratissimum var.sessiliflorum.Their planar structures and relative configurations were determined by spectroscopic methods,especially 2D NMR techniques.The sugar moieties of the iridoids were confirmed asβ-D-allose by GC analysis after acid hydrolysis and acetylation.The absolute configurations of neovibsanin Q(1)and dehydrovibsanol B(2)were determined by quantum chemical calculation of their theoretical electronic circular dichroism(ECD)spectra and Rh2(OCOCF_(3))_(4)-induced ECD analysis.The anti-inflammatory activities of compounds 1,3,4,and 5 were evaluated using an LPS-induced RA W264.7 cell model.Compounds 3 suppressed the release of NO in a dose-dependent manner,with an IC_(50) value of 55.64μmol·L^(-1).The cytotoxicities of compounds 1-5 on HCT-116 cells were assessed and the results showed that compounds 2 and 3 exhibited moderate inhibitory activities with IC_(50) values of 13.8 and 12.3μmol·L^(-1),respectively.

Impact of urbanization on morbidity of hepatitis A:a national panel study in China during 2005–2018

Background The effect of urbanization on the morbidity of hepatitis A remains unclear. We aimed to estimate the association between various urbanization-related indices and hepatitis A morbidity in China.Methods Data on the annual morbidity of hepatitis A, urbanization-related measures (i.e., gross domestic product per capita, the number of hospitalization beds per 1000 persons, illiteracy rate, tap water coverage, motor vehicles per 100 persons, population density, and the proportion of arable land), and meteorological factors in 31 provincial-level administrative divisions of Chinese mainland during 2005–2018 were collected from the National Population and Health Science Data Sharing Platform, China Statistical Yearbooks, and the China Meteorological Data Sharing Service System, respectively. Generalized linear mixed models were applied to quantify the impacts of different urbanization-related indices on the morbidity of hepatitis A in China after adjusting for covariates.Results A total of 537,466 hepatitis A cases were reported in China during 2005–2018. The annual morbidity had a decline of 79.4% from 5.64 cases to 1.16 cases per 100,000 people. There were obvious spatial variations with higher morbidity in western China. Nationally, gross domestic product per capita and the number of hospitalization beds per 1000 persons increased from 14,040 to 64,644 CNY and from 2.45 to 6.03 during 2005–2018, respectively. The illiteracy rate decreased from 11.0 to 4.9%. Gross domestic product per capita [relative risk (RR) = 0.96, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.92–0.99], and the number of hospitalization beds per 1000 persons (RR = 0.79, 95%CI: 0.75–0.83) were associated with the declined morbidity of hepatitis A. By contrast, the increased morbidity of hepatitis A was linked to the illiteracy rate (RR = 1.04, 95%CI: 1.02–1.06). Similar influential factors were detected for children and adults, with greater effects witnessed for children.Conclusions People in the western region suffered the heaviest burden of hepatitis

Room temperature low threshold lasing of green GaNbased vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL)was demonstrated under continuous wave(CW)operation.By using self-formed InGaN quantum dots(QDs)as the active region,the VCSEL emitting at 524.0 nm has a threshold current density of 51.97 A cm^(-2),the lowest ever reported.The QD epitaxial wafer featured with a high IQE of 69.94%and theδ-function-like density of states plays an important role in achieving low threshold current.Besides,a short cavity of the device(~4.0λ)is vital to enhance the spontaneous emission coupling factor to 0.094,increase the gain coefficient factor,and decrease the optical loss.To improve heat dissipation,AlN layer was used as the current confinement layer and electroplated copper plate was used to replace metal bonding.The results provide important guidance to achieving high performance GaN-based VCSELs.

Relationships between nonoptimal temperatures and cardiovascular disease(CVD)mortality have been well documented.However,evidence of the association between temperature variability(TV)and CVD morbidity is limited.This study aimed to quantify the risk and burden of CVD-related hospitalization associated with the magnitude and direction of TV.Data on meteorology and population-based hospitalizations for myocardial infarction(MI)and stroke were collected in Guangzhou,China,from 2013 to 2017.Hourly temperature variability(HTV)was measured as the standard deviation of hourly temperature records over specific exposure days.The direction(upward or downward)of HTV was defined as the average daily mean temperature change relative to that of the previous day during the exposure period.Quasi-Poisson regression was applied to assess the impact of HTV after adjusting for the daily mean temperature,and the hospitalization fractions attributable to HTV were calculated.A 1°C-increase in HTV was significantly associated with a 2.24%and 1.72%increase in hospitalizations for MI and hemorrhagic stroke(HS)at lag 0–1 d,respectively,and a 1.55%increase in hospitalizations for ischemic stroke(IS)at lag 0–3 d.During the study period,5.99%,4.64%,and 4.53%of MI,HS,and IS hospitalizations,respectively,were attributable to HTV.The upward TV exerts acute effects on CVD hospital admissions,whereas the impact of downward TV generally lags.These findings highlight the importance of the magnitude and direction of temperature fluctuations,in addition to the mean level,in assessing the adverse health impacts of temperature variations.

A Video Captioning Method by Semantic Topic-Guided Generation

In the video captioning methods based on an encoder-decoder,limited visual features are extracted by an encoder,and a natural sentence of the video content is generated using a decoder.However,this kind ofmethod is dependent on a single video input source and few visual labels,and there is a problem with semantic alignment between video contents and generated natural sentences,which are not suitable for accurately comprehending and describing the video contents.To address this issue,this paper proposes a video captioning method by semantic topic-guided generation.First,a 3D convolutional neural network is utilized to extract the spatiotemporal features of videos during the encoding.Then,the semantic topics of video data are extracted using the visual labels retrieved from similar video data.In the decoding,a decoder is constructed by combining a novel Enhance-TopK sampling algorithm with a Generative Pre-trained Transformer-2 deep neural network,which decreases the influence of“deviation”in the semantic mapping process between videos and texts by jointly decoding a baseline and semantic topics of video contents.During this process,the designed Enhance-TopK sampling algorithm can alleviate a long-tail problem by dynamically adjusting the probability distribution of the predicted words.Finally,the experiments are conducted on two publicly used Microsoft Research Video Description andMicrosoft Research-Video to Text datasets.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several state-of-art approaches.Specifically,the performance indicators Bilingual Evaluation Understudy,Metric for Evaluation of Translation with Explicit Ordering,Recall Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation-longest common subsequence,and Consensus-based Image Description Evaluation of the proposed method are improved by 1.2%,0.1%,0.3%,and 2.4% on the Microsoft Research Video Description dataset,and 0.1%,1.0%,0.1%,and 2.8% on the Microsoft Research-Video to Text dataset,respectively,compared with the existing video c

The lipids present in hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)lipid droplets include retinyl ester,triglyceride,cholesteryl ester,cholesterol,phospholipids and free fatty acids.Activation of HSCs is crucial to the development of fibrosis in liver disease.During activation,HSCs transform into myofibroblasts with concomitant loss of their lipid droplets and production of excessive extracellular matrix.Release of lipid droplets containing retinyl esters and triglyceride is a defining feature of activated HSCs.Accumulating evidence supports the proposal that recovering the accumulation of lipids would inhibit the activation of HSCs.In healthy liver,quiescent HSCs store 80%of total liver retinols and release them depending on the extracellular retinol status.However,in injured liver activated HSCs lose their retinols and produce a considerable amount of extracellular matrix,subsequently leading to liver fibrosis.Further findings prove that lipid metabolism of HSCs is closely associated with its activation,yet relationship between activated HSCs and the lipid metabolism has remained mysterious.
