Ileal collision tumor associated with gastrointestinal bleeding: A case report and review of literature

BACKGrOUND Collision tumors involving the small intestine,specifically the combination of a hamartomatous tumor and a lipoma,are extremely *** our knowledge,no previous case report has described a collision tumor composed of two benign tumors of different origins in the small *** SUMMArY Here,we present the case of an 82-year-old woman who presented with hemorrhagic shock and was found to have a mass measuring approximately 50 mm×32 mm×30 mm in the terminal *** on computed tomography scan findings,the mass was initially suspected to be a lipoma.A subsequent colonoscopy revealed a pedunculated submucosal elevation consisting of two distinct parts with a visible demarcation line.A biopsy of the upper portion suggested a juvenile polyp(Jp).Owing to the patient’s advanced age,multiple comorbidities,and poor surgical tolerance,a modified endoscopic submucosal dissection was *** examination of the excised mucosal mass revealed a lipoma at the base and a Jp at the top,demonstrating evidence of rupture and associated *** patient’s overall health remained satisfactory,with no recurrence of hematochezia during the six-month follow-up *** This case report provides new evidence for the understanding of gastrointestinal collision tumors,emphasizing their diverse clinical presentations and histopathological *** also offers diagnostic and therapeutic insights as well as an approach for managing benign collision tumors.

Diamond,with ultrahigh hardness,high wear resistance,high thermal conductivity,and so forth,has attracted worldwide ***,researchers found emergent reactions at the interfaces between diamond and ferrous materials,which significantly affects the performance of diamond-based ***,combing experiments and theoretical calculations,taking diamond–iron(Fe)interface as a prototype,the counter-diffusion mechanism of Fe/carbon atoms has been ***,it is identified that Fe and diamond first form a coherent interface,and then Fe atoms diffuse into diamond and prefer the carbon vacancies ***,the relaxed carbon atoms diffuse into the Fe lattice,forming Fe_(3)***,graphite is observed at the Fe_(3)C surface when Fe_(3)C is over-saturated by carbon *** present findings are expected to offer new insights into the atomic mechanism for diamondferrous material's interfacial reactions,benefiting diamond-based device applications.

Cuprotosis,a new type of cell death,provides great opportunities for the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma,as nanocarriers of copper ions can induce cuprotosis and immunogenic ***,we studied an editor that enables production of a nanoparticle“storm”in oral squamous cell carcinoma,maximizing the toxic effect of these particles and reprogramming the tumor microenvironment;as a result,T cells and natural killer(NK)cells can infiltrate the tumor microenvironment to activate an antitumor immune *** this basis,the editor can be combined with optical therapy to improve patient *** this study,the metal ratio was regulated in response to the nanocarrier of acid response ***,in the presence of a specific copper ion content,the nanocarrier could change the permeability of the tumor cell *** on these results,the nanoparticles were cracked in an acidic environment and then released copper ***,the nanoparticles contributed to cuprotosis and immunogenic *** addition,the editor could inhibit murine oral cancer 1(MOC1)tumors in C57BL/6 without *** rate of tumor growth inhibition was as high as approximately 80%.This strategy provides a new idea for ***,it can improve the interaction between immunotherapy and the copper-induced death of oral squamous cell *** all,this study will provide a new opportunity for the effective treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

A Test of U-type for Goodness-of-fit in regression Models Through Martingale Difference Divergence

Based on the martingale difference divergence,a recently proposed metric for quantifying conditional mean dependence,we introduce a consistent test of U-type for the goodness-of-fit of linear models under conditional mean ***,our test allows heteroscedastic regression models without imposing any condition on the distribution of the error,utilizes effectively important information contained in the distance of the vector of covariates,has a simple form,is easy to implement,and is free of the subjective choice of ***,our mathematical analysis is of own interest since it does not take advantage of the empirical process theory and provides some insights on the asymptotic behavior of U-statistic in the framework of model *** asymptotic null distribution of the proposed test statistic is derived and its asymptotic power behavior against fixed alternatives and local alternatives converging to the null at the parametric rate is also *** particular,we show that its asymptotic null distribution is very different from that obtained for the true error and their differences are interestingly related to the form expression for the estimated parameter vector embodied in regression function and a martingale difference divergence *** the asymptotic null distribution of the test statistic depends on data generating process,we propose a wild bootstrap scheme to approximate its null *** consistency of the bootstrap scheme is *** studies are undertaken to show the good performance of the new test.

BACKGrOUND Colorectal cancer is currently the third most common malignant tumor and the second leading cause of cancer-related death *** chemoradiotherapy(nCrT)is standard for locally advanced rectal cancer(LArC).Except for pathological examination after resection,it is not known exactly whether LArC patients have achieved pathological complete response(pCr)before *** date,there are no clear clinical indicators that can predict the efficacy of nCrT and patient *** To investigate the indicators that can predict pCr and long-term outcomes following nCrT in patients with *** Clinical data of 128 LArC patients admitted to our hospital between September 2013 and November 2022 were retrospectively *** were categorized into pCr and non-pCr *** analysis(using the χ^(2) test or Fisher’s exact test)and logistic multivariate regression analysis were used to study clinical predictors affecting *** 5-year disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS)rates were calculated using Kaplan-Meier analysis,and differences in survival curves were assessed with the log-rank *** Univariate analysis showed that pretreatment carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)level,lymphocyte-monocyte ratio(LMr),time interval between neoadjuvant therapy completion and total mesorectal excision,and tumor size were correlated with *** results showed that CEA≤5 ng/mL(p=0.039),LMr>2.73(p=0.023),and time interval>10 wk(p=0.039)were independent predictors for *** analysis demonstrated that patients in the pCr group had significantly higher 5-year DFS rates(94.7%vs 59.7%,p=0.002)and 5-year OS rates(95.8%vs 80.1%,p=0.019)compared to the non-pCr *** deposits(TDs)were significantly correlated with shorter DFS(p=0.002)and OS(ppretreatment CEA,LMr,and time interval contribute to predicting nCrT efficacy in LArC *** pCr demonstrates longer DFS and *** correlate with poor pr

In this study,the double loaded Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(NF:Ni foam)thin film catalysts were prepared for the first time via chemical deposition method at room *** optimizing the reducing agent concentration to 0.9 mol·L^(-1),the as-obtained Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF exhibited the twisted ribbon structure with more distinct three-dimensional hierarchy and the smaller particle size,showing the good catalytic property for the hydrolysis of NaBH_(4)*** H_(2)generation rate of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF and binary Co-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF under visible light irradiation surpassed the value under natural *** apparent activation energy of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(45.0 kJ·mol^(-1))under visible light irradiation was obviously reduced when compared with the natural condition(48.4 kJ·mol^(-1))and binary Co-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(60.6 kJ·mol^(-1))under visible light ***,the catalytic performance of the optimized Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF thin film catalyst was superior to most of the reported non-noble metal and even noble metal ***,it illustrated that the catalytic H_(2)production performance of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF thin film was distinctly improved after the introduction of light and multicomponent recombination.

A Task Offloading Strategy Based onMulti-Agent Deep reinforcement Learning for OffshoreWind Farm Scenarios

This research is the first application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) servers to offshore wind farms, providing a newtask offloading solution to address the challenge of scarce edge servers in offshore wind farms. The proposed strategy is to offload the computational tasks in this scenario to other MEC servers and compute them proportionally, which effectively reduces the computational pressure on local MEC servers when wind turbine data are abnormal. Finally, the task offloading problem is modeled as a multi-intelligent deep reinforcement learning problem, and a task offloading model based onMulti- Agent Deep reinforcement Learning (MADrL) is established. The Adaptive Genetic Algorithm (AGA) is used to explore the action space of the Deep Deterministic policy Gradient (DDpG), which effectively solves the problem of slow convergence of the DDpG algorithm in the high-dimensional action space. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm, AGA-DDpG, saves approximately 61.8%, 55%, 21%, and 33% of the overall overhead compared to local MEC, random offloading, TD3, and DDpG, respectively. The proposed strategy is potentially important for improving real-time monitoring, big data analysis, and predictive maintenance of offshore wind farm operation and maintenance systems. © 2024 The Authors. published by Tech Science press.
