AIM:To investigate the role of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in the protein profile of the aqueous humor in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR)following intravitreal injection of ***:This study included 72 PDR patients and 8 cataract patients as *** patients were divided into 3 groups according to the intervals of 3,5,and 7d between intravitreal conbercept(IVC,0.5 mg/0.05 mL)injection and pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)*** humor samples were collected before and after IVC and PPV for VEGF and CTGF levels detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA).The differential proteomics of 10 patients who underwent PPV surgery 5d after IVC and 8 normal controls was studied,Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis were performed on the data,and the protein interaction network of 23 differential proteins was ***:Post-IVC,VEGF levels decreased and CTGF levels increased significantly in aqueous humor,with the CTGF/VEGF ratio rising significantly at all *** chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)identified differentially expressed proteins between preand post-IVC *** and KEGG analyses revealed involvement in immune response,stress response,complement and coagulation cascades,ferroptosis,and PPAR signaling *** analysis highlighted key proteins like APOA1,C3,and transferrin(TF).EliSA assay confirmed the differential expression of proteins such as HBA1,SERPINA1,COL1A1,and ACTB,with significant changes in the IVC ***:The study demonstrates that IVC effectively reduces VEGF levels while increasing CTGF levels,thereby modifying the CTGF/VEGF ratio,and IVC significantly alters the protein profile in the aqueous humor of patients with *** analysis reveals that these changes are associated with critical biological pathways and protein interactions involved in immune respons

To address the challenge of achieving both high sensitivity and a high quality factor in quartz crystal microbalance(QCM)humidity sensors,a nanodiamond(ND)/Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was *** material characteristics of ND,Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene,and ND/Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene composite were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)*** experimental results demonstrated that the hydrophilic ND nanoparticles coated on Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene nanosheet prevented the self-stacking of Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene and enhanced the sensitivity of Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene-based QCM humidity ***,the high mechanical modulus of Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene material helped ND/Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor to achieve a high quality factor(>20,000).ND/Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene compositecoated QCM humidity sensor exhibited a sensitivity of 82.45 Hz/%RH,a humidity hysteresis of 1.1%RH,fast response/recovery times,acceptable repeatability,and good stability from 11.3%RH to 97.3%*** response mechanism of ND/Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was analyzed in combination with a bi-exponential kinetic adsorption ***,the potential application of ND/Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was demonstrated through its frequency response to wooden blocks with different moisture contents.

The increase in energy consumption and its collateral damage on the environment has encouraged the development of environment-friendly ceramic materials with good energy storage *** this work,(1-x)Na_(0.5)bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-xCa(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramics were synthesized by the solid-state reaction *** 0.88Na_(0.5)bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.12Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramic exhibited a high recoverable energy storage density of 8.1 J/cm3 and energy storage efficiency of 82.4% at 550 kV/*** introduction of Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) reduced the grain size and increased the band gap,thereby enhancing the breakdown field strength of the ceramic *** method also resulted in good temperature stability(20–140℃),frequency stability(1–200 Hz),and fatigue stability over 106 *** addition,an ultrahigh power density of 187 MW/cm^(3) and a fast charge-discharge rate(t0.9=57.2 ns)can be obtained *** element method analysis revealed that the decrease of grain size was beneficial to the increase of breakdown field ***,the 0.88Na_(0.5)bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.12Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramics resulted in high energy storage properties with good stability and were promising environment-friendly materials for advanced pulsed power systems applications.

Spike architecture inﬂuences both grain weight and grain number per spike,which are the two major components of grain yield in bread wheat(Triticum aestivum L.).However,the complex wheat genome and the inﬂuence of various environmental factors pose challenges in mapping the causal genes that affect spike ***,we systematically identified genes involved in spike trait formation by integrating information on genomic variation and gene regulatory networks controlling young spike development in *** identified 170 loci that are responsible for variations in spike length,spikelet number per spike,and grain number per spike through genome-wide association study and meta-QTL *** constructed gene regulatory networks for young inﬂorescences at the double ridge stage and theﬂoret primordium stage,in which the spikelet meristem and theﬂoret meristem are predominant,respec-tively,by integrating transcriptome,histone modification,chromatin accessibility,eQTL,and protein–pro-tein interactome *** these networks,we identified 169 hub genes located in 76 of the 170 QTL regions whose polymorphisms are significantly associated with variation in spike *** functions of TaZF-B1,VRT-B2,and TaSPL15-A/D in establishment of wheat spike architecture were *** study provides valuable molecular resources for understanding spike traits and demonstrates that combining genetic analysis and developmental regulatory networks is a robust approach for dissection of complex traits.

Thermoelectric superlattices are expected to decouple the strong correlation between various thermo-electric parameters,and are an important strategy for excellent thermoelectric *** superlattices of(bi_(2))m(bi_(2)Te_(3))n homologous series are well-known for low lattice thermal conductivity and intriguing topological surface ***,the impacts of electronic structure on the thermo-electric performance were still not well-understood in(bi_(2))m(bi_(2)Te_(3))*** cope with this issue,bi_(2)ebi_(2)Te_(3)superlattice-like films with adjustable bi_(2)/(bi_(2)+bi_(2)Te_(3))molar ratio(R)were successfully fabricated by the molecular beam epitaxy ***-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements com-bined with theoretical calculations revealed the conduction band evolution from single-valley to multi-valley as R≥0.30,leading to intrinsically high carrier effective mass and improved thermoelectric power ***,the superlattice film(R=0.46)with the structure close to bi_(4)Te_(3)possesses the topological surface state feature around the high symmetry *** a result of the high effective mass of 3.9 m0 and very high electron density of_(2).31×10^(21)cm^(-3),the film with R=0.46 acquired the highest power factor of 1.49 mW·m^(-1)·K^(-2)at 420 K,outperforming that of other(bi_(2))m(bi_(2)Te_(3))n *** work lays an essential foundation on understanding the electronic structure and further improving thermoelectric performances of(bi_(2))m(bi_(2)Te_(3))n homologous series.
