Background Prognosis varies among stageⅣcolorectal cancer(CRC).Our study aimed to build a robust prognostic nomogram for predicting overall survival(OS)of patients with stageⅣCRC in order to provide evidence for individualized *** We collected the information of 16,283 patients with stageⅣCRC in the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database and then randomized these patients in a ratio of 7:3 into a training cohort and an internal validation *** addition,501 patients in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China)database were selected and used as an external validation *** and multivariate Cox analyses were used to screen out significant variables for nomogram *** nomogram model was assessed using time-dependent receiveroperating characteristic curve(time-dependent ROC),concordance index(C-index),calibration curve,and decision curve *** curves were plotted using the Kaplan–Meier *** The C-index of the nomogram for OS in the training,internal validation,and external validation cohorts were 0.737,0.727,and 0.655,*** analysis and calibration curves pronounced robust discriminative ability of the ***,we divided the patients into a high-risk group and a low-risk group according to the *** Kaplan–Meier curves showed that the prediction of the nomogramwas consistent with the actual ***,model comparisons and decision curve analysis proved that the nomogram for predicting prognosis was significantly superior to the tumor-node-metastasis(TNM)staging *** We constructed a nomogram to predict OS of the stageⅣCRC and externally validate its generalization,which was superior to the TNM staging system.

Background Although traumatic brain injury can lead to opening the blood-brain barrier and leaking of blood substances （including water） into brain tissue, few studies of brain antigens leaking into the blood and the pathways have been reported. Brain antigens result in damage to brain tissues by stimulating the immune system to produce anti-brain antibodies, but no treatment has been reported to reduce the production of anti-brain antibodies and protect the brain tissue. The aim of the study is to confirm the relationship between immune injury and arachnoid granulations following traumatic brain injury, and provide some new methods to inhibit the immune injury.Methods In part one, methylene blue was injected into the rabbits’ cisterna magna after traumatic brain injury, and concentrations of methylene blue and tumor necrosis factor （TNF）-α in blood were detected to determine the permeability of arachnoid granulations. In part two, umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells and immature dendritic cells were injected into veins, and concentrations of interleukin 1 （IL-1）, IL-10, interferon （IFN）-γ, transforming growth factor （TGF）-β, anti-brain antibodies （ABAb）, and IL-12 were measured by ELISA on days 1, 3, 7, 14 and 21 after injury, and the numbers of leukocytes in the blood were counted. Twenty-one days after injury, expression of glutamate in brain tissue was determined by immunohistochemical staining, and neuronal degeneration was detected by H＆E staining. Results In part one, blood concentrations of methylene blue and TNF-α in the traumatic brain injury group were higher than in the control group （P 〈0.05）. Concentrations of methylene blue and TNF-α in the trauma cerebrospinal fluid （CSF） injected group were higher than in the control cerebrospinal fluid injected group （P 〈0.05）. Impact of angina prior to acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction on short-term outcomes after primary percutaneous coronary intervention： results from the Shanghai Registry of Acute Coronary Syndrome （SRACE）

Background The clinical significance of ischemic chest pain before acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction （STEMI） remains an interesting issue of investigation particularly in the era of percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）. This study aimed to assess the impact of angina prior to STEMI on short-term clinical outcomes in patients with acute STEMI undergoing primary PCI. Methods Among a total of 875 consecutive patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI, 292 had episodes of angina within 24 hours of STEMI （PA group） and the remaining 583 were free of anginal symptoms （non-PA group）. Clinical characteristics, angiographic and procedural features, and in-hospital and 30-day outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results Diabetes was less common （17.5% vs. 23.3%, P=-0.04） and symptom-to-door time was shortened （（191.6_＋96.8） minutes vs. （357.2_＋341.9） minutes, P 〈0.001） in the PA group than in the non-PA group. Patients with angina prior to STEMI had fewer totally or nearly totally occluded infarct-related artery （TIMI flow grade 0-1） at initial angiography （75.0% vs. 90.7%, P 〈0.001）, and achieved more TIMI flow grade 3 after primary PCI （84.2% vs. 78.2%, P=0.04）. These were associated with higher rates of overall procedural success （95.9% vs. 91.8%, P=0.02） and of complete ST-segment resolution at 90 minutes after the procedure （51.7% vs. 40.3%, P=0.001）. During a 30-day clinical follow-up, the left ventricular ejection fraction was significantly improved （（53.0±8.6）% vs. （51.1±9.7）%, P=-0.002） and the primary endpoint of major adverse cardiac events was reduced in the PA group （7.2% vs. 12.7%, P=0.01）. Conclusion Presence of angina prior to acute STEMI is associated with better outcome at a 30-day clinical follow-up in patients undergoing primary PCI.

Prolonged activation of nuclear factor(NF)-кB signaling significantly contributes to the development of colorectal cancer(CRC).New therapeutic opportunities are emerging from targeting this distorted cell signaling ***,we discovered the critical role of RING finger 138(RNF138)in CRC tumorigenesis through regulating the NF-кB signaling,which is independent of its Ubiquitin-E3 ligase activity involved in DNA damage ***138^(−/−) mice were hyper-susceptible to the switch from colitis to aggressive malignancy,which coincided with sustained aberrant NF-кB signaling in the colonic ***,RNF138 suppresses the activation of NF-кB signaling pathway through preventing the translocation of NIK and IKK-Beta Binding Protein(NIBP)to the cytoplasm,which requires the ubiquitin interaction motif(UIM)*** importantly,we uncovered a significant correlation between poor prognosis and the downregulation of RNF138 associated with reinforced NF-кB signaling in clinical settings,raising the possibility of RNF138 dysregulation as an indicator for the therapeutic intervention targeting NF-кB *** the xenograft models built upon either RNF138-dificient CRC cells or the cells derived from the RNF138-dysregulated CRC patients,we demonstrated that the inhibition of NF-кB signaling effectively hampered tumor ***,our work defined the pathogenic role of aberrant NF-кB signaling due to RNF138 downregulation in the cascade events from the colitis switch to colonic neoplastic transformation and progression,and also highlights the possibility of targeting the NF-кB signaling in treating specific subtypes of CRC indicated by RNF138-ablation.

Dry direct-seeded rice(DDR) sown using a multifunctional seeder that performs synchronous rotary tillage and sowing has received increased attention because it is highly efficient,relatively cheap,and environmentally ***,this method of rice production may produce lower yields in a rice–wheat rotation system because of its poor seedling *** address this problem,we performed field experiments to determine the rice yield at five seedling density levels(B1,B2,B3,B4,and B5=100,190,280,370,and 460 seedlings m-2,respectively) and clarify the physiological basis of yield *** selected a representative high-quality rice variety and a multifunctional seeder that used in a typical rice–wheat rotation area in 2016 and *** proportion of main stem panicle increased with increasing seedling *** was a parabolic relationship between yield and seedling density,and the maximum yield(9.34-9.47 t ha-1) was obtained under *** maximum yield was associated with a higher total spikelet number m-2 and greater biomass accumulation from heading to *** higher total spikelet number m-2 under B3 was attributed to an increase in panicle number m-2 compared with B1 and *** the panicle numbers also increased under B4 and B5,these increases were insufficient to compensate for the reduced spikelet numbers per *** biomass,smaller leaf area,and lower N uptake per plant from the stem elongation stage to the heading stage were partially responsible for the smaller panicle size at higher seedling density levels such as *** higher biomass accumulation under B3 was ascribed to the increases in the photosynthetic rate of the top three leaves m-2 of land,crop growth rate,net assimilation rate,and leaf area ***,the B3 rice population was marked by a higher grain–leaf ratio,as well as a lower export ratio and transport ratio of biomass per stem-sheath.A quadratic function predicted that 260-290 seedlings m-2 is the op

In this article,we present detailed seasonal,monthly and daily statistics of temperature difference in the surface layer at the Muztagh-ata site based on the temperature measurements at two heights of 2 m and6 *** find that temperature inversion occurs frequently at our site during nighttime,especially during the cold *** temperature inversion always represents stable atmospheric turbulence,which is crucial for an optical *** analyzing the behavior of temperature inversion and its correlation with wind and cloud amount,one conclusion can be made that radiation inversion is the main reason for the existence of temperature inversion in the surface-layer at the Muztagh-ata site.

The muonic component of the extensive air showers (EAS) is of great importance for the astroparticle physics. It carries the information about the properties of primary cosmic ray (CR) particles, such as their mass, and electromagnetic and hadronic nature. It provides a sensitive test for the hadronic interaction models, which are inevitable for describing the cascade shower development of cosmic rays in EAS experiments. The yangBaJing Hybrid Array (YBJ-HA) experiment has been in operation since the end of 2016. Surface detectors are used for the measurements of primary energy, angular direction and core position of a shower event, while underground muon detectors are used for measuring the density of muons at various locations. Using the data obtained by the YBJ-HA experiment,this work reports the first measurement of the lateral muon distribution for the primary cosmic ray energy in the 100TeV region. The punch-through effect is evaluated via MC simulation.

Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains *** A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of *** Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two *** Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes.
