The effect of heat treatments on laser additive manufacturing(LAM)Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr titanium alloy(TC17)was studied aiming to optimize its microstructure and mechanical *** as-deposited sample exhibits features of a mixed priorβgrain structure consisting of equiaxed and columnar grains,intragranular ultra-fineαlaths and numerous continuous grain boundaryα(αGB).After being pre-annealed inα+βregion(840°C)and standard solution and aging treated,the continuousαGB becomes coarser and the precipitate free zone(PFZ)nearby theαGB transforms into a zone filled with ultra-fine secondaryα(αS)but no primaryα(αP).When pre-annealed in singleβregion(910°C),allαphases transform intoβphase and the alloying elements distribute uniformly near the grain ***αGB and uniform mixture ofαP andαS near grain boundary form after subsequent solution and aging *** two heat treatments can improve the tensile mechanical properties of LAM TC17to satisfy the aviation standard for TC17.

Chenghua(CH)pig and Qingyu(QY)pig are typical Chinese native fatty *** pig is mainly distributed in Chengdu Plain,while QY pig is widely distributed throughout the mountain areas around the Sichuan *** are significant differences in their phenotypic traits,including body image,growth performance,and meat *** study compared several meat quality traits of CH and QY pigs and conducted a genome-wide DNA methylation analysis using reduced representation bisulfite sequencing(RRBS).It was observed that the pH at 45 min(pH_(45min),P=5.22e-13),lightness at 45 min(L^(*)_(45min),P=4.85e-5),and lightness at 24 h(L^(*)_(24h),P=3.57e-5)of CH pigs were higher than those of QY *** detected 10699 differentially methylated cytosines(DMCs)and 2760 differentially methylated genes(DMGs)associated with these *** analysis showed that these DMGs were mainly enriched in the AMPK signaling pathway,Type II diabetes mellitus,Insulin signaling pathway,mTOR signaling pathway,and Insulin ***,15 DMGs were associated with fat metabolism(ACACA,CAB39,CRADD,CRTC2,FASN,and GCK),muscle development(HK2,IKBKB,MTOR,PIK3CD,PPARGC1A,and RPTOR),or meat quality traits(PCK1,PRKAG2,and SLC2A4).The findings may help to understand further the epigenetic regulation mechanisms of meat quality traits in pigs and provide new basic data for the study of local pigs.

Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. This expert consensus has summarized the progress in PC clinical studies and systematically evaluated the CRS + HIPEC procedures in China as well as across the world, so as to lay the foundation for formulating PC treatment guidelines specific to the national conditions of China.

To the Editor： Acne inversa （AI; OM1M： 142690） is a painful chronic follicular disease, characterized by recurrent draining sinuses and abscesses with subsequent scarring and chronic seepage, predominantly in skin folds that carry terminal hairs and apocrine glands. It mainly affects the scalp, neck, the axillae, perineum, and inframammary regions. AI significantly affects patients＇ quality of life because of the chronic and recurrent nature of symptoms as well as the lack of satisfying treatment options.

Photothermoelectric (PTE) detectors combine photothermal and thermoelectricconversion, surmounting material band gap restrictions and limitations related tomatching light wavelengths, have been widely used in telecommunication banddetection. Two-dimensional (2D) materials with gate-tunable Seebeck coefficientcan induce the generation of photothermal currents under illumination by theasymmetric Seebeck coefficient, making them promising candidate for PTE detectorsin the telecommunication band. In this work, we report that a newly exploredvan der Waals (vdW) layered material, SnP_(2)Se_(6), possessing excellent field regulationcapabilities and behaviors as an ideal candidate for PTE detector *** the assistance of temperature-dependent Raman characterization, thesuspended atomic thin SnP_(2)Se_(6) nanosheets reveal thickness-dependent thermalconductivity of 1.4–5.7 W m^(-1) K^(-1) at room temperature. The 2D SnP_(2)Se_(6) demonstrateshigh Seebeck coefficient (S) and power factor (PF), which are estimated tobe -506 μV K^(-1) and 207 μWm^(-1) K^(-2), respectively. By effectively modulating theSnP_(2)Se_(6) localized carrier concentration, which in turn leads to inhomogeneousSeebeck coefficients, the designed dual-gate PTE detector with 2D SnP_(2)Se_(6) channeldemonstrates wide spectral photoresponse in telecommunication bands, yieldinghigh responsivity (R = 1.2 mA W^(-1)) and detectivity (D^(*) = 6× 10^(9) Jones)under 1550 nm light illumination. Our findings provide a new material platformand device configuration for the telecommunication band detection.

BACKGROUND Previous evidence has implied that obesity is an independent risk factor for developing *** closely related to obesity,type 2 diabetes mellitus provides a suitable environment for the formation and metastasis of tumors through multiple *** bariatric surgeries are effective in preventing and lowering the risk of various types of cancer,the underlying mechanisms of this effect are not clearly *** To uncover the role and effect of sleeve gastrectomy(SG)in preventing lung cancer in obese and diabetic *** SG was performed on obese and diabetic Wistar rats,and the postoperative transcriptional and translational alterations of the endothelin-1(ET-1)axis in the lungs were compared to sham-operated obese and diabetic rats and age-matched healthy controls to assess the improvements in endothelial function and risk of developing lung cancer at the postoperative 4 th,8 th,and 12 th *** risk wasalso evaluated using nuclear phosphorylation of H2 A histone family member X as a marker of DNA damage(double-strand break).RESULTS Compared to obese and diabetic sham-operated rats,SG brought a significant reduction to body weight,food intake,and fasting blood glucose while improving oral glucose tolerance and insulin *** addition,ameliorated levels of gene and protein expression in the ET-1 axis as well as reduced DNA damage indicated improved endothelial function and a lower risk of developing lung cancer after the *** Apart from eliminating metabolic disorders,SG improves endothelial function and plays a protective role in preventing lung cancer via normalized ET-1 axis and reduced DNA damage.

Endoscopic Surgery versus External Ventricular Drainage Surgery for Severe Intraventricular Hemorrhage

The efficacy and applied value of endoscopic hematoma evacuation vs. external ventricular drainage (EVD) in the treatment of severe ventficular hemorrhage (IVH) were explored and *** Jan.2015 to dec.2016,the clinical data of 42 cases of IVH were retrospectively analyzed,including 18 patients undergoing endoscopic hematoma evacuation (group A),and 24patients receiving EVD (group B).The hematoma clearance rate was calculated by 3D Slicer software,and complications and outcomes were compared between the two *** were no significant differences in age,sex and Graeb score between groups A and B (P>0.05).The hematoma clearance rate was 70.81%±27.64% in group A and 48.72%±36.58% in group B with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The operative time in groups A and B was 72.45±25.26 min and 28.54±15.27min,respectively (P<0.05).The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score increased from 9.28±2.72 at baseline to 11.83±2.91 at 1 week postoperatively in group A,and from 8.25±2.62 at baseline to 10.79±4.12 at 1 week postoperatively in group B (P<0.05).The length of hospital stay was 12.67±5.97 days in group A and 17.33±8.91 days in group B with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The GOS scores at 6 months after surgery were 3.83±1.12 in group A,and 2.75±1.23 in group B (P<0.05). These results suggested that endoscopic hematoma evacuation has an advantage of a higher hematoma clearance rate,fewer complications and better outcomes in the treatment of severe IVH,indicating it is a safe,effective and promising approach for severe IVH.
