Spatial Variability of Micronutrients in Rice Grain and Paddy Soil

Consumption of rice is the main source of micronutrients to human in Asia. A paddy field with unknown anthro- pogenic contamination in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, china was selected to characterize the spatial variability and distribution of micronutrients in rice grain and soil. A total of 96 paired soil and rice grain samples were collected at harvest. The micronutrients in the soil samples were extracted by diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid （DTPA）. The mean micronutrient concentrations in rice grain were 3.85 μg Cu g^-1, 11.6 μg Fe g^-1, 39.7 μg Mn g^-1 and 2..0 μg Zn g^-1 The mean concentrations were 2.54μg g^-1 for DTPA-Cu, 133.5μg g^-1 for DTPA-Fe, 30.6μg g^-1 for DTPA-Mn, and 0.84μg g^-1 for DTPA-Zn. Semivariograms showed that measured micronutrients in rice grain were moderately dependent, with a range distance of about 110 m. The concentrations of the DTPA-extractable micronutrients all displayed strong spatial dependency, with a range distance of about 60 m. There was some resemblance of spatial structure between soil pH and the grain Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn. By analogy, similar spatial variation was observed between soil organic matter （SOM） and DTPA-extractable table micronutrients in the soil. Kriging estimated maps of the attributes showed the spatial distributions of the variables in the field, which is beneficial for better understanding the spatial variation of micronutrients and for potentially refining agricultural management practices at a field scale.

The culturable bacterial population and phospholipid fatty acid （PLFA） profile of casing soil were investigated at different mushroom （Agaricus bisporus） cropping stages. The change in soil bacterial PLFAs was always accompanied by a change in the soil eulturable bacterial population in the first flush. Comparatively higher culturable bacterial population and bacterial PLFAs were found in the casing soil at the primordia formation stage of the first flush. There was a significant increase in the ratio of fungal to bacterial PLFAs during mushroom growth. Multivariate analysis of PLFA data demonstrated that the mushroom cropping stage could considerably affect the microbial community structure of the casing soil. The bacterial population increased significantly from casing soil application to the primordia formation stage of the first flush. Casing soil application resulted in an increase in the ratio of gram-negative bacterial PLFAs to gram-positive bacterial PLFAs, suggesting that some gram-negative bacteria might play an important role in mushroom sporophore initiation.

Ferroptosis, a unique type of non-apoptotic cell death resulting from iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, has a potential physiological function in tumor suppression, but its underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. Here, we report that the long non-coding RNA(lncRNA) LncFASA increases the susceptibility of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) to ferroptosis. As a tumor suppressor, LncFASA drives the formation of droplets containing peroxiredoxin1(PRDX1), a member of the peroxidase family, resulting in the accumulation of lipid peroxidation via the SLC7A11-GPX4 axis. Mechanistically, LncFASA directly binds to the Ahpc-TSA domain of PRDX1, inhibiting its peroxidase activity by driving liquid-liquid phase separation, which disrupts intracellular ROS homeostasis. Notably, high LncFASA expression indicates favorable overall survival in individuals with breast cancer, and LncFASA impairs the growth of breast xenograft tumors by modulating ferroptosis. Together, our findings illustrate the crucial role of this lncRNA in ferroptosis-mediated cancer development and provide new insights into therapeutic strategies for breast cancer.

Chronic post-hypoxic myoclonus, also known as Lance-Adams syndrome (LAS), is a rare complication of successful cardiopulmanry resuscitation often accompanied by action myoclonus and cerebellar ataxia. It is seen in patients who have un-dergone a cardiorespiratory arrest, regained consciousness afterwards, and then developed myoclonus days or weeks after the event. Worldwide, 12. cases have been reported in the literature so far, including 1 case of Chinese. Here we report 2.Chinese LAS patients with detailed neuroimagings. Cranial single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) of patient 1, a 52.year-old woman, showed a mild hypoperfusion in her left temporal lobe, whereas patient 2. a 54-year-old woman, manifested a mild bilateral decrease of glucose metabolism in the frontal lobes and a mild to moderate decrease of the N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) peak in the bilateral hippocampi by cranial [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomographic (PET) scan and cranial magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), respectively. We also review the literature on the neuroimaging, pathogenesis, and treatment of LAS.

Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma(PACC)is a rare malignant tumor of pancreatic epithelial cells,which produces pancreatic exocrine *** originates from acinar cells and terminal branches of the pancreatic ducts in the exocrine tissue of the *** accounts for 1%−2.of pancreatic exocrine tumors[1].Herein,we present an elderly woman with PACC who recovered after effective laparoscopic *** tumor was located on the left side of the abdomen;imaging suggested that it was a gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the gastric wall origin,infiltrating the tail of the pancreas and omentum,while postoperative pathology suggested PACC.

Two-dimensional(2.)materials that combine ferromagnetic,semiconductor,and piezoelectric properties hold significant potential for both fundamental research and spin electronic ***,the majority of reported 2. ferromagnetic-semiconductor-piezoelectric materials rely on d-electron systems,which limits their practical applications due to a Curie temperature lower than room temperature(RT).Here,we report a high-crystallinity carbon nitride(CCN)material based on sp-electrons using a chemical vapor deposition *** exhibits a band gap of 1.8 eV and has been confirmed to possess substantial in-plane and out-of-plane ***,we acquired clear evidences of ferromagnetic behavior at room *** structural characterizations combined with theoretical calculations reveal that incorporating structural oxygen into the highly ordered heptazine structure causes partial substitution of nitrogen sites,which is primarily responsible for generating room-temperature ferromagnetism and *** a result,the strain in wrinkles can effectively modulate the domain behavior and piezoelectric potential at room *** addition of RT ferromagnetic-semiconductor-piezoelectric material based on sp-electrons to the family of two-dimensional materials opens up numerous possibilities for novel applications in fundamental research and spin electronic devices.
