Review of salt consumption and stomach cancer risk:Epidemiological and biological evidence

Stomach cancer is still the fourth most common cancer;thus,it remains an important public health burden worldwide,especially in developing *** remarkable geographic variations in the rates of stomach cancer indicate that dietary factors,including a range of food groups to which salt and/or nitrates have been added,may affect stomach cancer *** this paper,we review the results from ecologic,case-control and cohort studies on the relationship between salt or salted foods and stomach cancer *** majority of ecological studies indicated that the average salt intake in each population was closely correlated with gastric cancer *** case-control studies showed similar results,indicating a moderate to high increase in risk for the highest level of salt or salted food *** overall results from cohort studies are not totally consistent,but are suggestive of a moderate direct *** salt intake has been correlated with Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) infection,it is possible that these two factors may synergize to promote the development of stomach ***,salt may also cause stomach cancer through directly damaging gastric mucus,improving temporary epithelial proliferation and the incidence of endogenous mutations,and inducing hypergastrinemia that leads to eventual parietal cell loss and progression to gastric *** on the considerable evidence from ecological,case-control and cohort studies worldwide and the mechanistic plausibility,limitation on salt and salted food consumption is a practical strategy for preventing gastric cancer.

An organocatalytic methodology toward the atroposelective construction of axially chiral nonsymmetric biaryltriols has been successfully developed.A quinine-derived thiourea-catalyzed intramolecular reaction using VQM(vinylidene ortho-quinone methides)intermediates enabled efficient access to a class of axially chiral nonsymmetric biaryltriols with up to 98%yield and 99%ee.

Testing results analysis of contact materials’electrical contact performance

Because of the different ways in which contact materials work, the basic requirements for silver metal oxide contact materials are different. They are anti-welded and anti-erosion when closed, anti-erosion when broken, and arc easily moved and have smaller contact resistance. In this paper, La2O3 is used as a stable oxide in contact material to replace CdO. A new type of Ag/SnO2-La2O3-Bi2O3 contact material is first obtained through using powder metallurgical method. Then electrical contact material parameter tester is used to test the electrical contact performance of the contact material. Through experiments, the arcing voltage and current curves, arcing energy curves, fusion power curves while broken and contact resistance while closed were obtained. Analysis of the results showed that the addition of La2O3 makes the contact material have the following advantages: smaller electrical wear, smaller arc energy, smaller contact resistance and arc is more easily extinguished.

A Novel Implementation of a Flexible Robotic Fin Actuated by Shape Memory Alloy

In this paper, study of a novel flexible robotic-fin actuated by Shape Memory Alloy （SMA） is presented. The developed robotic fin is capable of implementing various 3-Dimensional （3D） motions, which plays an important role in robot propulsion and maneuverability. Firstly, the morphological and mechanics parameters of a real pectoral fin from a carp are investigated. Secondly, a detailed design of the flexible pectoral fin driven by SMA is presented according to the previous morphological and mechanics analyses. Thirdly, a simplified theoretical model on the SMA fin plate is derived. The thermodynamics of the SMA plate and the relationship between curvature and phase transformation are analyzed. Finally, several simulations and model experiments are conducted according to the previous analyses. The results of the experiments are useful for the control of the robotic fin. The experimental results reveal that the SMA actuated fin ray has a good actuating performance.

Investigation of potential interferences on the measurement of dissolved reactive phosphate using zirconium oxide-based DGT technique

A diffusive gradients in thin films （DGT） technique based on hydrous zirconium oxide （Zr-oxide） has been recently developed for the measurement of dissolved reactive phosphate （DRP）. In this study, the detailed performance of the DGT technique is reported. Spiking experiments revealed that several orthophosphate monoester compounds contributed to the Zr-oxide DGT measurements of DRP. However, such a phenomenon is unlikely to occur during field conditions due to the low concentration of organic P in typical natural waters. The presence of Cl- （up to 106 g/L）, SO42- （up to 16 g/L）, HCO3- （up to 817 g/L）, and AsO2- and AsO 3 4 （both up to 1 mg As/L） in solutions had negligible effects on the measurement of DRP. The threshold concentrations of Cl-, SO42- and HCO3- have been increased from previous reports for the measurements of DRP using other adsorbent-based DGT techniques. The capacity for DGT measurements of DRP decreased with increasing solution pH （4.2-9.2）. The lowest capacity （95 μg P/m2 at pH 9.2） was still greater than that of other DGT techniques that are usually used for the measurement of DRP （2-12 μg P/cm2 ）. The Zr-oxide binding gel could be stored for up to 2 years without any aging effect. This period of validity was considerably longer than the ferrihydrite binding gel that is commonly used in present DGT devices （6 months）. The field application revealed that the concentrations of DRP measured in three fresh water samples using the Zr-oxide DGT technique were in agreement with those of the traditional colorimetric method.

A Secure IoT Firmware Update Scheme Against SCPA and DoS Attacks

In the IEEE S&P 2017,Ronen et *** side-channel power analysis(SCPA)and approximately 5000 power traces to recover the global AES-CCM key that Philip Hue lamps use to decrypt and authenticate new *** on the recovered key,the attacker could create a malicious firmware update and load it to Philip Hue lamps to cause Internet of Things(IoT)security *** by the work of Ronen et al.,we propose an AES-CCM-based firmware update scheme against SCPA and denial of service(DoS)*** proposed scheme applied in IoT terminal devices includes two aspects of design(i.e.,bootloader and application layer).Firstly,in the bootloader,the number of updates per unit time is limited to prevent the attacker from acquiring a sufficient number of useful traces in a short time,which can effectively counter an SCPA ***,in the application layer,using the proposed handshake protocol,the IoT device can access the IoT server to regain update permission,which can defend against DoS ***,on the STM32F405+M25P40 hardware platform,we implement Philips'and the proposed modified *** results show that compared with the firmware update scheme of Philips Hue smart lamps,the proposed scheme additionally requires only 2.35 KB of Flash memory and a maximum of 0.32 s update time to effectively enhance the security of the AES-CCM-based firmware update process.

Spatial deduction of mining-induced stress redistribution using an optimized non-negative matrix factorization model

Investigation of mining-induced stress is essential for the safety of coal *** the field monitoring and numerical simulation play a significant role in obtaining the structural mechanical behaviors,the range of monitoring is not sufficient due to the limits of monitoring points and the associated numerical result is not *** this study,we aim to present a spatial deduction model to characterize the mining-induced stress distribution using machine learning algorithm on limited monitoring ***,the framework of the spatial deduction model is developed on the basis of non-negative matrix factorization(NMF)algorithm and optimized by mechanical *** this framework,the spatial correlation of stress response is captured from numerical results,and the learned correlation is employed in NMF as a mechanical constrain to augment the limited monitoring data and obtain the overall mechanical ***,the developed model is applied to a coal mine in Shandong,*** results show the stress distribution in one plane is derived by several monitoring points,where mining induced stress release is observed in goaf and stress concentration in coal pillar,and the intersection point between goaf and coal seam is a sensitive *** indicators used to evaluate the property of the presented model indicate that 83%mechanical performances have been captured and the deduction accuracy is about 92.9%.Therefore,it is likely that the presented deduction model is reliable.

Dear Editor,Dummy attack(DA), a deep stealthy but impactful data integrity attack on power industrial control processes, is recently recognized as hiding the corrupted measurements in normal measurements. In this letter, targeting a more practical case, we aim to detect the oneshot DA, with the purpose of revealing the DA once it is ***, we first formulate an optimization problem to generate one-shot DAs. Then, an unsupervised data-driven approach based on a modified local outlier factor(MLOF) is proposed to detect them.

Effect of sintering temperature on the physical properties and electrical contact properties of doped AgSnO_2 contact materials

AgSnO_ 2 electrical contact materials doped with Bi_2O_3,La_2O_3,and TiO_2 were successfully fabricated by the powder metallurgy method under different initial sintering *** electrical conductivity,density,hardness,and contact resistance of the Ag Sn O_2/Bi_2O_3,AgSnO_2/La_2O_3,and AgSnO_2/Ti O_2 contact materials were measured and *** arc-eroded surface morphologies of the doped AgSnO_2 contact materials were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effects of the initial sintering temperature on the physical properties and electrical contact properties of the doped AgSnO_2 contact materials were *** results indicate that the physical properties can be improved and the contact resistance of the AgSnO_2 contact materials can be substantially reduced when the materials are sintered under their optimal initial sintering temperatures.
