Cross-Project Software Defect Prediction Based on SMOTE and Deep Canonical Correlation Analysis

Cross-Project Defect Prediction(CPDP)is a method that utilizes historical data from other source projects to train predictive models for defect prediction in the target project.However,existing CPDP methods only consider linear correlations between features(indicators)of the source and target projects.These models are not capable of evaluating non-linear correlations between features when they exist,for example,when there are differences in data distributions between the source and target projects.As a result,the performance of such CPDP models is compromised.In this paper,this paper proposes a novel CPDP method based on Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE)and Deep Canonical Correlation Analysis(DCCA),referred to as S-DCCA.Canonical Correlation Analysis(CCA)is employed to address the issue of non-linear correlations between features of the source and target projects.S-DCCA extends CCA by incorporating the MlpNet model for feature extraction from the dataset.The redundant features are then eliminated by maximizing the correlated feature subset using the CCA loss function.Finally,cross-project defect prediction is achieved through the application of the SMOTE data sampling technique.Area Under Curve(AUC)and F1 scores(F1)are used as evaluation metrics.This paper conducted experiments on 27 projects from four public datasets to validate the proposed method.The results demonstrate that,on average,our method outperforms all baseline approaches by at least 1.2%in AUC and 5.5%in F1 score.This indicates that the proposed method exhibits favorable performance characteristics.

Multi-Scale Feature Fusion Model for Bridge Appearance Defect Detection

Although the Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network(Faster R-CNN)model has obvious advantages in defect recognition,it still cannot overcome challenging problems,such as time-consuming,small targets,irregular shapes,and strong noise interference in bridge defect detection.To deal with these issues,this paper proposes a novel Multi-scale Feature Fusion(MFF)model for bridge appearance disease detection.First,the Faster R-CNN model adopts Region Of Interest(ROl)pooling,which omits the edge information of the target area,resulting in some missed detections and inaccuracies in both detecting and localizing bridge defects.Therefore,this paper proposes an MFF based on regional feature Aggregation(MFF-A),which reduces the missed detection rate of bridge defect detection and improves the positioning accuracy of the target area.Second,the Faster R-CNN model is insensitive to small targets,irregular shapes,and strong noises in bridge defect detection,which results in a long training time and low recognition accuracy.Accordingly,a novel Lightweight MFF(namely MFF-L)model for bridge appearance defect detection using a lightweight network EfficientNetV2 and a feature pyramid network is proposed,which fuses multi-scale features to shorten the training speed and improve recognition accuracy.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated on the bridge disease dataset and public computational fluid dynamic dataset.

Anti-lymphangiogenesis for boosting drug accumulation in tumors

The inadequate tumor accumulation of anti-cancer agents is a major shortcoming of current therapeutic drugs and remains an even more significant concern in the clinical prospects for nanomedicines.Various strategies aiming at regulating the intratumoral permeability of therapeutic drugs have been explored in preclinical studies,with a primary focus on vascular regulation and stromal reduction.However,these methods may trigger or facilitate tumor metastasis as a tradeoff.Therefore,there is an urgent need for innovative strategies that boost intratumoral drug accumulation without compromising treatment outcomes.As another important factor affecting drug tumor accumulation besides vasculature and stroma,the impact of tumor-associated lymphatic vessels(LVs)has not been widely considered.In the current research,we verified that anlotinib,a tyrosine kinase inhibitor with anti-lymphangiogenesis activity,and SAR131675,a selective VEGFR-3 inhibitor,effectively decreased the density of tumor lymphatic vessels in mouse cancer models,further enhancing drug accumulation in tumor tissue.By combining anlotinib with therapeutic drugs,including doxorubicin(Dox),liposomal doxorubicin(Lip-Dox),and anti-PD-L1 antibody,we observed improved anti-tumor efficacy in comparison with monotherapy regimens.Meanwhile,this strategy significantly reduced tumor metastasis and elicited stronger anti-tumor immune responses.Our work describes a new,clinically transferrable approach to augmenting intratumoral drug accumulation,which shows great potential to address the current,unsatisfactory efficacies of therapeutic drugs without introducing metastatic risk.

Chinese Medicine Combined with Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Improving Myelosuppression in Colorectal Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) combined with adjuvant chemotherapy on myelosuppression for colorectal cancer(CRC) patients using network meta-analysis(NMA). Methods: Literature searches in both international(PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library) and Chinese(China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang Data, China National Knowledge Infrastructure) databases for relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were conducted from inception until October 10, 2022. We included RCTs of patients who received CHM combined with chemotherapy, including FOLFOX, XELOX, FOLFIRI, and other relevant regimens in the CHM treatment group. The outcomes included the incidence of myelosuppression, leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia. Two reviewers independently screened the databases, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias and credibility of evidence. RevMan 5.4.1 software and STATA 14.0 were used to perform the NMA. Results: A total of 31 RCTs were included, published from 2008 to 2021 in Chinese. Among these, 2,314 participants comparing the following 9 CHMs were identified: Shengbai Recipe(SBR), Bazhen Decoction(BZD), Jianpi Jiedu Recipe(JJR), Jianpi Recipe(JR), Compound Cantharis Capsule(CCC), Zaofan Pill(ZFP), Guilu Erxian gel(GL), Buzhong Tiaogan Decoction(BZ), and Qiamagu Capsule(QM). The results of NMA found an indirect comparison. Based on the surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA), the ZFP+ chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of myelosuppression, with an odds ratio(OR) of 0.08 [95% confidence interval(CI): 0.01, 0.76], whereas the GL+ chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia, with an OR of 5.25(95% CI: 2.41, 11.43), 4.66(95% CI: 2.23, 9.72), and 0.27(95% CI: 0.13, 0.54), respectively. Moreover, BZD + chemotherapy could alleviate leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia(P<0.01). Pairwise comparison showed that there was no difference in the

Multiphase Interfacial Regulation Based on Hierarchical Porous Molybdenum Selenide to Build Anticorrosive and Multiband Tailorable Absorbers

Electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbing materials have an irreplaceable position in the field of military stealth as well as in the field of electromagnetic pollution control.And in order to cope with the complex electromagnetic environment,the design of multifunctional and multiband high efficiency EMW absorbers remains a tremendous challenge.In this work,we designed a three-dimensional porous structure via the salt melt synthesis strategy to optimize the impedance matching of the absorber.Also,through interfacial engineering,a molybdenum carbide transition layer was introduced between the molybdenum selenide nanoparticles and the three-dimensional porous carbon matrix to improve the absorption behavior of the absorber.The analysis indicates that the number and components of the heterogeneous interfaces have a significant impact on the EMW absorption performance of the absorber due to mechanisms such as interfacial polarization and conduction loss introduced by interfacial engineering.Wherein,the prepared MoSe_(2)/MoC/PNC composites showed excellent EMW absorption performance in C,X,and Ku bands,especially exhibiting a reflection loss of−59.09 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.96 GHz at 1.9 mm.The coordination between structure and components endows the absorber with strong absorption,broad bandwidth,thin thickness,and multi-frequency absorption characteristics.Remarkably,it can effectively reinforce the marine anticorrosion property of the epoxy resin coating on Q235 steel substrate.This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between interfacial engineering and the performance of EMW absorbers,and provides a reference for the design of multifunctional,multiband EMW absorption materials.

SCAB1 coordinates sequential Ca^(2+) and ABA signals during osmotic stress induced stomatal closure in Arabidopsis

Hyperosmotic stress caused by drought is a detrimental threat to plant growth and agricultural productivity due to limited water availability.Stomata are gateways of transpiration and gas exchange,the swift adjustment of stomatal aperture has a strong influence on plant drought resistance.Despite intensive investigations of stomatal closure during drought stress in past decades,little is known about how sequential signals are integrated during complete processes.Here,we discovered that the rapid Ca^(2+) signaling and subsequent abscisic acid(ABA)signaling contribute to the kinetics of both F-actin reorganizations and stomatal closure in Arabidopsis thaliana,while STOMATAL CLOSURE-RELATED ACTIN BINDING PROTEIN1(SCAB1)is the molecular switch for this entire process.During the early stage of osmotic shock responses,swift elevated calcium signaling promotes SCAB1 phosphorylation through calcium sensors CALCIUM DEPENDENT PROTEIN KINASE3(CPK3)and CPK6.The phosphorylation restrained the microfilament binding affinity of SCAB1,which bring about the Factin disassembly and stomatal closure initiation.As the osmotic stress signal continued,both the kinase activity of CPK3 and the phosphorylation level of SCAB1 attenuated significantly.We further found that ABA signaling is indispensable for these attenuations,which presumably contributed to the actin filament reassembly process as well as completion of stomatal closure.Notably,the dynamic changes of SCAB1 phosphorylation status are crucial for the kinetics of stomatal closure.Taken together,our results support a model in which SCAB1 works as a molecular switch,and directs the microfilament rearrangement through integrating the sequentially generated Ca^(2+) and ABA signals during osmotic stress induced stomatal closure.

Cobalt doping amount determines dominant reactive species in peroxymonosulfate activation via porous carbon catalysts co-doped by cobalt and nitrogen

Switching the reaction routes in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes have attracted much attention but remain challenging.Herein,a series of Co-N/C catalysts with different compositions and structures were prepared by using bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks based on ZIF-8 and ZIF-67(x Zn/Co-ZIFs).Results show that Co doping amount could mediate the transformation of the activation pathway of PMS over CoN/C.When Co doping amount was less than 10%,the constructed x Co-N/C/PMS system(x≤10%)was singlet oxygen-dominated reaction;however further increasing Co doping amount would lead to the generation and coexistence of sulfate radicals and high-valent cobalt,besides singlet oxygen.Furthermore,the nitrogen-coordinated Co(Co-NX)sites could serve as main catalytically active sites to generate singlet oxygen.While excess Co doping amount caused the formation of Co nanoparticles from which leached Co ions were responsible for the generation of sulfate radicals and high-valent cobalt.Compared to undoped N/C,Co doping could significantly enhance the catalytic performance.The 0.5%Co-N/C could achieve the optimum degradation(0.488 min^(-1))and mineralization abilities(78.4%)of sulfamethoxazole among the investigated Co-N/C catalysts,which was superior to most of previously reported catalysts.In addition,the application prospects of the two systems in different environmental scenarios(pH,inorganic anions and natural organic matter)were assessed and showed different degradation behaviors.This study provides a strategy to regulate the reactive species in PMS-based advanced oxidation process.

Cu single atoms embedded on hollow g-C_(3)N_(4)nanospheres with enhanced charge transfer and separation for efficient photocatalysis

Establishing an effective charge transfer mechanism in carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))to enhance its photocatalytic activity remains a limiting nuisance.Herein,the combination design of a single Cu atom with hollow g-C_(3)N_(4)nanospheres(Cu-N_(3)structure)has been proven to offer significant opportunities for this crucial challenge.Moreover,this structure endows two pathways for charge transfer in the reaction,namely,the N atoms in the three-dimensional planar structure are only bonded with a single Cu atom,and charge transfer occurs between the plane and the layered structure due to the bending of the interlayered g-C_(3)N_(4)hollow nanospheres.Notably,Cu-N_(3)and hollow nanosphere structures have been certified to greatly enhance the efficiency of photogenerated carrier separation and transfer between the layers and planes by ultrafast spectral analysis.As a result,this catalyst possesses unparalleled photocatalytic efficiency.Specifically,the hydrogen production rate up to 2040μmol h^(−1) g^(−1),which is 51 times that of pure C_(3)N_(4)under visible light conditions.The photocatalytic degradation performance of tetracycline and oxidation performance of benzene is also expressed,with a degradation rate of 100%,a conversion of 97.3%and a selectivity of 99.9%.This work focuses on the structure-activity relationship to provide the possibilities for the development of potential photocatalytic materials.

Isolation and microbial transformation of tea sapogenin from seed pomace of Camellia oleifera with anti-inflammatory effects

In the current study,tea saponin,identified as the primary bioactive constituent in seed pomace of Camellia oleifera Abel.,was meticulously extracted and hydrolyzed to yield five known sapogenins:16-O-tiglogycamelliagnin B(a),camelliagnin A(b),16-O-angeloybarringtogenol C(c),theasapogenol E(d),theasapogenol F(e).Subsequent biotransformation of compound a facilitated the isolation of six novel metabolites(a1−a6).The anti-inflammatory potential of these compounds was assessed using pathogenassociated molecular patterns(PAMPs)and damage-associated molecular patterns molecules(DAMPs)-mediated cellular inflammation models.Notably,compounds b and a2 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on both lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and high-mobility group box 1(HMGB1)-induced inflammation,surpassing the efficacy of the standard anti-inflammatory agent,carbenoxolone.Conversely,compounds d,a3,and a6 selectivity targeted endogenous HMGB1-induced inflammation,showcasing a pronounced specificity.These results underscore the therapeutic promise of C.oleifera seed pomace-derived compounds as potent agents for the management of inflammatory diseases triggered by infections and tissue damage.

Bibliometric analysis of hotspots and trends of global myopia research

AIM:To gain insights into the global research hotspots and trends of myopia.METHODS:Articles were downloaded from January 1,2013 to December 31,2022 from the Science Core Database website and were mainly statistically analyzed by bibliometrics software.RESULTS:A total of 444 institutions in 87 countries published 4124 articles.Between 2013 and 2022,China had the highest number of publications(n=1865)and the highest H-index(61).Sun Yat-sen University had the highest number of publications(n=229)and the highest H-index(33).Ophthalmology is the main category in related journals.Citations from 2020 to 2022 highlight keywords of options and reference,child health(pediatrics),myopic traction mechanism,public health,and machine learning,which represent research frontiers.CONCLUSION:Myopia has become a hot research field.China and Chinese institutions have the strongest academic influence in the field from 2013 to 2022.The main driver of myopic research is still medical or ophthalmologists.This study highlights the importance of public health in addressing the global rise in myopia,especially its impact on children’s health.At present,a unified theoretical system is still needed.Accurate surgical and therapeutic solutions must be proposed for people with different characteristics to manage and intervene refractive errors.In addition,the benefits of artificial intelligence(AI)models are also reflected in disease monitoring and prediction.
