Effectiveness of Qingre Lishi Yishen decoction on the glomerular fibrosis of immunoglobulin A nephropathy in a rat’s model

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of the clinical effective prescription of Qingre Lishi Yishen decoction(QRLS) on the activation of mesangial cells in immunoglobulin A nephropathy(IgAN) ***: IgAN rat’s model was established by combine with intragastric administration of bovine serum albumin(BSA) + intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) by + subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride(CCL4). Then the animals were randomly divided into four groups: control group, IgAN model group, IgAN model with Valsartan(Val) treatment group and IgAN model with QRLS treatment group. To observe the indexes of 24-h urine protein, renal function, deposition of immune complexes, expression of activation factor, fibrosis marker and inflammatory cytokines in four different ***: The Val or QRLS treatment group:(a) it reduced the immune complexes deposition of IgA in glomerular mesangial and inhibited mesangial cell proliferation;(b) it decreased the expression of smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), fibronectin(FN) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α).CONCLUSION: The study suggested that QRLS ameliorate renal structure and function in IgAN rat’s model. Furthermore, we also observed that QRLS alleviated mesangial cells activation and matrix accumulation partly by decreasing the α-SMA,then to downregulated the expression of FN and TNF-α.

Double-and triple-cropping in a year have played a very important role in meeting the rising need for food in ***,the intensified agricultural practices have significantly altered biogeochemical cycles and soil *** and mapping cropping intensity in China′s agricultural systems are therefore necessary to better estimate carbon,nitrogen and water fluxes within agro-ecosystems on the national *** this study,we investigated the spatial pattern of crop calendar and multiple cropping rotations in China using phenological records from 394 agro-meteorological stations(AMSs)across *** results from the analysis of in situ field observations were used to develop a new algorithm that identifies the spatial distribution of multiple cropping in China from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS)time series data with a 500 m spatial resolution and an 8-day temporal *** to the MODIS-derived multiple cropping distribution in 2002,the proportion of cropland cultivated with multiple crops reached 34%in ***-cropping accounted for approximately 94.6%and triple-cropping for 5.4%.The results demonstrat that MODIS EVI(Enhanced Vegetation Index)time series data have the capability and potential to delineate the dynamics of double-and triple-cropping *** resultant multiple cropping map could be used to evaluate the impacts of agricultural intensification on biogeochemical cycles.

Distribution and accumulation of biogenic silica in the intertidal sediments of the yangtze Estuary

Sedimentary biogenic silica is known to be an important parameter to understand biogeochemical processes and paleoenviromental records in estuarine and coastal ecosystems. Consequently, it is of great significance to investigate accumulation and distribution of biogenic silica in sediments. The two-step mild acid-mild alkaline extraction procedure was used to leach biogenic silica and its early diagenetic products in intertidal sediments of the yangtze Estuary. The results showed that total biogenic silica （t-BSi） in the intertidal sediments varied from 237.7-419.4 μmol Si/g, while the mild acid leachable silica （Si-HCl） and the mild alkaline leachable silica （Si- Alk） were in the range of 25.1-72.9 μmol Si/g and 208.1-350.4 μmol Si/g, respectively. Significant correlations were observed for the grain size distributions of sediments and different biogenic silica pools in intertidal sediments. This confirms that grain size distribution can significantly affect biogenic silica contents in sediments. Close relationships of biogenic silica with organic carbon and nitrogen were also found, reflecting that there is a strong coupling between biogenic silica and organic matter biogeochemical cycles in the intertidal system of the yangtze Estuary. Additionally, the early diagenetic changes of biogenic silica in sediments are discussed in the present study.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is an inflammatory vascular disorder with high mortality. Accumulating evidence shows that toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) plays a critical role in the regulation of wound-repairing process after tissue injury. We wondered if TLR2 signaling contributed to the pathogenesis of AAA and that targeting TLR2 would attenuate AAA development and progression. In this study, enhanced expression of TLR2 and its ligands were observed in human AAA tissue. Neutralization of TLR2 protected against AAA development and caused established AAA to regress in mouse models of AAA. In addition, TLR2-deficient mice also failed to develop AAA. The prophylactic and therapeutic effects of blocking TLR2 were accompanied by a significant resolution of inflammation and vascular remodeling, as indicated by the decreased expression or activity of MMP-2/9, alpha-SMA, inflammatory cytokines, and transcription factors NF-kappa B, AP-1 and STAT1/3 in AAA tissue. Mechanistically, blocking TLR2 decreased the expression and interaction of TLR2 and several endogenous ligands, which diminished chronic inflammation and vascular remodeling in the vascular tissue of AAA. Our studies indicate that the interactions between TLR2 and its endogenous ligands contribute to the pathogenesis of AAA and that targeting TLR2 offers great potential toward the development of therapeutic agents against AAA. Arthropod-borne chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection can cause a debilitating arthritic disease in ***,there are no specific antiviral drugs and effective licensed vaccines against CHIKV available for clinical ***,we developed an m RNA-lipid nanoparticle(m RNA-LNP)vaccine expressing CHIKV E2-E1 antigen,and compared its immunogenicity with soluble recombinant protein s E2-E1 antigen expressed in S2 *** comparison,we first showed that recombinant protein antigens mixed with aluminum adjuvant elicit strong antigenspecific humoral immune response and a moderate cellular immune response in C57BL/6 ***,s E2-E1vaccine stimulated 12-23 folds more neutralizing antibodies than s E1 vaccine and s E2 ***,when E2-E1 gene was delivered by an m RNA-LNP vaccine,not only the better magnitude of neutralizing antibody responses was induced,but also greater cellular immune responses were generated,especially for CD8+T cell ***,E2-E1-LNP induced CD8~+T cells can perform cytotoxic effect in *** its better immunogenicity and convenience of preparation,we suggest that more attention should be placed to develop CHIKV E2-E1-LNP m RNA vaccine.

总结闫慧敏教授辨证治疗婴儿胆汁淤积性肝病(胎黄)的临证经验。认为湿邪致病,是导致胎黄的主要病因,而无论阴黄、阳黄,湿邪均可阻滞气机,造成血行不畅、瘀血阻滞。本病总由胆汁不循常道,溢于肌肤所致,但脾失健运,胃失和降,湿邪内生为根本原因。临证时应四诊合参,首辨阴阳,提出以大便颜色和舌苔厚薄为主要辨证依据。治疗上常以祛湿为主,兼顾寒热,并将活血化瘀法贯穿治疗始终;同时加强疏肝利胆之法,以治病求本。在治疗过程中既要不忘顾护正气,防药邪伤正,同时又要见微知著,既病防变,促进病情恢复。

OBJECTIVE:To research the curative effect of Chinese herbs for clearing away heat,promoting diuresis,nourishing the kidney,and consolidating essence in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis(HSPN)with internal accumulation of damp-toxin using randomized controlled observations on large *** seek the mechanism of the therapy and its scope of ***:Overall,186 children with HSPN were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(n=126)treated with Chinese herbs for clearing heat and promoting diuresis and a control group(n=60)treated with Western *** treatment was carried out for three courses of 4weeks *** recorded changes in patient urine routines,24 h urinary protein,blood-coagulating series,immunoglobulin and T-cell subgroups,and improvements in main *** evaluated the alleviation of clinical symptoms and the improvement of proteinuria,hematuria,and other lab-oratory test ***,we analyzed the patient population suitable for this therapy according to the relationship between the grouping of patient body weight and curative ***:Damp-heat syndrome improved in the treatment group,with a significant difference in total effective rate after a 4-week treatment(χ2=13.5220,P=0.0002)and in curative rate after a12-week treatment(χ2=6.3410,P=0.0118),compared to those in the control *** curative effect in the treatment group was greater than that in the control group but there was no statistical difference between the two *** curative effect after a 4-week treatment of patients in the treatment group weighing 30 kg or less based on Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)signs and urinary protein was significantly greater than that in the control ***,there was no statistical difference in the curative effect on urinary red cells and various indexes after a 12-week treatment between the two ***:Therapy for clearing away heat,promoting diuresis,nourishing the kidney,and conso

The COVID-19 pandemic,caused by the SARS-CoV-2 infection,is a global health *** many patients have clinically recovered,little is known about long-term alterations in T cell responses of COVID-19 *** this study,T cell responses in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of a long-time COVID-19 clinically recovered(20–26 weeks)cohort(LCR)were measured via flow cytometry and *** T cell responses of LCR were comparatively analyzed against an age and sex matched short-time clinically recovered(4–9 weeks)cohort(SCR)and a healthy donor cohort(HD).All volunteers were recruited from Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital,*** analysis showed that activation marker PD-1 expressing on CD4^(+)T cells of LCR was still significantly lower than that of *** analysis indicated that frequencies of Tc2,Th2 and Th17 in LCR were comparable to those of HD,but Tc17 was higher than that of *** LCR,compared to the HD,there were fewer IFN-c producing T cells but more IL-2 secreting T *** addition,the circulating Tfh cells in LCR were still slightly lower compared to HD,though the subsets composition had ***,SARS-CoV-2 specific T cell responses in LCR were comparable to that of ***,T cell responses experienced long-term alterations in phenotype and functional potential of LCR ***,after clinical recovery,SARS-CoV-2 specific T cell responses could be sustained at least for six months,which may be helpful in resisting re-infection。
