Developing advanced cleaning systems for the removal of unwanted layers from painted surfaces is still a challenging issue that needs to be addressed in the field of cultural *** this work,we proposed the use of novel polyelectrolyte hydrogels prepared via free radical polymerization and freeze-thaw *** sulfobetaine methacrylate(SBMA)was crosslinked with methylacryloyloxyethyl trimethylammonium(DMC)through covalent bonding to yield zwitterionic polyelectrolyte poly(SBMA-co-DMC)(PSD).Introducing PSD into the polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl chitosan(PVA/CMC)hydrogel network enhanced the intermolecular electrostatic interactions and changed the porous structure and swelling behaviors,thus leading to improved mechanical *** adsorption ability of the PVA/CMC/PSD polyelectrolyte hydrogels toward dyes(rhodamine B and congo red)and metal ions(Cu^(2+)and K^(+))varied with increasing amounts of PSD,which could be attributed to cationic PSD tuning the net charges in the *** cleaning effectiveness of the PVA/CMC/PSD polyelectrolyte hydrogels was assessed on wall painting mock-ups coated with soil,red paint,and soluble salts,using microscopic and spectroscopic *** results showed that the hydrogel adhered to rough surfaces and removed unwanted substances effectively without leaving determinable residues,providing a possible safe and efficient method for the cleaning of important artifacts.

Chinese sprangletop (Leptochloa chinensis), belonging to the grass subfamily Chloridoideae, is one of the most notorious weeds in rice ecosystems. Here, we report a chromosome-scale reference genome assembly and a genomic variation map of the tetraploid L. chinensis. The L. chinensis genome is derived from two diploid progenitors that diverged ∼10.9 million years ago, and its two subgenomes display neither fractionation bias nor overall gene expression dominance. Comparative genomic analyses reveal substantial genome rearrangements in L. chinensis after its divergence from the common ancestor of Chloridoideae and, together with transcriptome profiling, demonstrate the important contribution of tetraploidization to the gene sources for the herbicide resistance of L. chinensis. Population genomic analyses of 89 accessions from China reveal that L. chinensis accessions collected from southern/southwestern provinces have substantially higher nucleotide diversity than those from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, suggesting that L. chinensis spread in China from the southern/southwestern provinces to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. During this spread, L. chinensis developed significantly increased herbicide resistance, accompanied by the selection of numerous genes involved in herbicide resistance. Taken together, our study generated valuable genomic resources for future fundamental research and agricultural management of L. chinensis, and provides significant new insights into the herbicide resistance as well as the origin and adaptive evolution of L. chinensis.

Analyzing biases of nitrogen contents and δ^(15)N values arising from acidified marine sediments with different CaCO_3 concentrations

In some studies, the researchers pretreated and measured organic carbon, nitrogen and their isotopes（δ^（13）C and δ^（15）N） of marine sediment together, to save costs and resources of analysis. However, the procedure of acidification to remove inorganic carbon for analysing δ^（13）C can affect the values of nitrogen and δ^（15）N, and the biases vary a lot depending on the CaCO_3 contents of sediments. In this study, the biases of total nitrogen（TN）and δ^（15）N values arising from acidified sediments were compared between the CaCO_3-poor（1%–16%） and CaCO_3-rich（20%–40%） samples. TN and δ^（15）N values were altered during acid treatment（without centrifugation） that possibly led to N-containing compounds volatilization. For CaCO_3-poor samples, acidification led to a range of 0%–40% TN losses and 0‰–2‰ shift in δ^（15）N values; and 10%–60% TN losses and 1‰–14‰ shift in δ^（15）N values for CaCO_3-rich samples. The biases from most samples exceeded the precision of the instrument（0.002% for TN and 0.08‰ for δ^（15）N）, and high biases could mislead our judgment for the environmental implication of the data. Thus,avoiding co-analysis of organic carbon, nitrogen and their isotopes（δ^（13）C and δ^（15）N） in sediments, even for CaCO_3-poor marine sediments, is necessary.

Resistance of Barnyard Grass(Echinochloa crusglli) to Quinclorac in Double-harvest Rice Area in Hunan Province of China

[ Objective] The paper was to study the resistance of barnyard grass to quinclorac in double-harvest rice area in Hunan Province of China. [ Method ] Using whole-plant determination method, the resistance of 36 biotypes of barnyard grass to quinclorac in double-harvest rice area in Hunan Province was studied. [ Result ] The biotype collected from Lijiaping Town of Shaoyang County was the most susceptible barnyard grass to quinclerac, and the EC50 value was 70. 253 1 g a. i./hm2 , so it was recognized as the sensitive biotype. The biotypes collected from Caowei Town of Yuanjiang County （ HN3 and HN4 from direct seeding rice fields） and Zhongyukou Town of Nanxian County presented very high resistance to quinclorac ; the ECho values were 1 999. 122 5, 1 664.544 6 and 1 022.739 5 g a. i./hm2, and their resistance indexes reached 28.46, 23.69 and 14.56, respectively, indicating that these throe biotypes hod high level of resistance to quinclo- rac. EC50 values of about 22 biotypes were ranged from 144. 837 3 to 408.289 4 g a. i./hm2, and resistance indexes were ranged from 2.06 to 5.81, indicating that these biotypes hod produced resistance to quinclorac. EC50 values of other 10 biotypes were ranged from 98.032 6 to 138. 660 9 g a. i./hm2, and the resistance in- dexes were ranged from 1.40 to 1.97, indicating that the sensitivity of barnyard grass in these places was decreasing. [ Conclusion] The paper provided guidance for scientific and rational use of quinclorac in paddy fields.

为提高空气源热泵系统的低温适应性,将相变蓄热技术与空气源热泵结合,实现白天蓄热、夜晚放热的运行模式。本文通过模拟研究了相变蓄热型空气源热泵系统的蓄放热特性和应用多级相变材料对系统的影响。结果表明:系统蓄热量随时间线性增大,380 min时达到18.94 kW·h,平均COP为2.51;系统放热量先随时间线性增大,随后增大速率有所减缓,180 min时达到13.58 kW·h。放热过程进口水温为35℃时,系统经过6次蓄放热循环后达到稳定运行状态,蓄放热效率为99.06%。相比单级PCM,应用三级PCM的系统蓄热时间缩短9.60%,COP提高3.97%,总[火用]效率提高4.84%,其中降低过冷区PCM熔点对提高系统性能起到关键作用。

为区分土壤团聚体形成和破碎过程,阐明冻融循环对黑土土壤结构的影响,本文利用稀土氧化物(REOs)示踪技术,通过室内模拟试验,探究不同初始含水量(50%田间持水量(T50)vs.100%田间持水量(T100))和冻融循环次数(0次、3次、6次、12次和20次)对团聚体粒径分布、平均质量直径(MWD)以及团聚体周转过程的影响。结果表明:同一初始含水量下,随着冻融循环次数的增加,MWD、>0.25mm和0.25 mm团聚体的破碎和0.25mm团聚体的周转时间高于<0.25mm团聚体,T100处理下的团聚体周转时间显著高于T50处理(P<0.05)。综上所述,冻融循环次数和土壤初始含水量通过影响团聚体形成和破碎过程改变土壤结构的稳定性。本研究结果可为进一步探究冻融循环下黑土土壤结构变化提供理论依据。
