The ability to navigate long distances is essential for many animals to locate shelter,food,and breeding *** sense has evolved in various migratory and homing species to orient them based on the geomagnetic field.A highly conserved ironsulfur cluster assembly protein IscA is proposed as an animal magnetoreceptor(MagR).Iron-sulfur cluster binding is also suggested to play an essential role in MagR magnetism and is thus critical in animal *** the current study,we provide evidence for distinct iron binding and iron-sulfur cluster binding in MagR in pigeons,an avian species that relies on the geomagnetic field for navigation and *** MagR showed significantly higher total iron content from both iron-and ironsulfur binding.Y65 in pigeon MagR was shown to directly mediate mononuclear iron binding,and its mutation abolished iron-binding capacity of the ***,both iron binding and iron-sulfur binding demonstrated synergistic effects,and thus appear to be integral and indispensable to pigeon MagR *** results not only extend our current understanding of the origin and complexity of MagR magnetism,but also imply a possible molecular explanation for the huge diversity in animal magnetoreception.

Artificial photosynthesis in carbon dioxide(CO_(2))conversion into value-added chemicals attracts considerable attention but suffers from the low activity induced by sluggish separation of photogenerated carriers and the kinetic bottleneck-induced unsatisfied ***,we prepare a new-style Bi/TiO_(2) catalyst formed by pinning bismuth clusters on TiO_(2) nanowires through being confined by pores,which exhibits high activity and selectivity towards photocatalytic production of CH_(4) from CO_(2).Boosted charge transfer from TiO_(2) through Bi to the reactants is revealed via in situ X-ray photon spectroscopy and time-resolved photoluminescence(PL).Further,in situ Fourier transform infrared results confirm that Bi/TiO_(2) not only overcomes the multi-electron kinetics challenge of CO_(2) to CH_(4) via boosting charge transfer,but also facilitates proton production and transfer as well as the intermediates*CHO and*CH_(3)O generation,ultimately achieving the tandem catalysis towards *** calculation also underlies that the more favorable reaction step from*CO to*CHO on Bi/TiO_(2) results in CH_(4) production with higher *** work brings new insights into rational design of photocatalysts with high performance and the formation mechanism of CO_(2) to CH_(4) for solar energy storage in future.

Based on the characteristics of high-end products,crowd-sourcing user stories can be seen as an effective means of gathering requirements,involving a large user base and generating a substantial amount of unstructured *** key challenge lies in transforming abstract user needs into specific ones,requiring integration and ***,we propose a topic mining-based approach to categorize,summarize,and rank product requirements from user ***,after determining the number of story categories based on py LDAvis,we initially classify“I want to”phrases within user ***,classic topic models are applied to each category to generate their names,defining each post-classification user story category as a ***,a weighted ranking function is devised to calculate the importance of each ***,we validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method using 2966 crowd-sourced user stories related to smart home systems.

The development of nanoelectronics and nanotechnologies has been boosted signiﬁcantly by the emergence of 2D materials because of their atomic thickness and peculiar properties,and developing a universal,precise patterning technology for single-layer 2D materials is critical for assembling *** here is a nanomachining technique using electrical breakdown by an AFM tip to fabricate nanopores,nanostrips,and other nanostructures on *** can be achieved by voltage scanning or applying a constant voltage while moving the *** measuring the electrical current,the formation process on single-layer materials was shown *** present results provide evidence of successful pattern fabrication on single-layer MoS2,boron nitride,and graphene,although further conﬁrmation is still *** proposed method holds promise as a general nanomachining technology for the future.

Operational requirements analysis method based on question answering of WEKG

The weapon and equipment operational requirement analysis(WEORA) is a necessary condition to win a future war,among which the acquisition of knowledge about weapons and equipment is a great challenge. The main challenge is that the existing weapons and equipment data fails to carry out structured knowledge representation, and knowledge navigation based on natural language cannot efficiently support the WEORA. To solve above problem, this research proposes a method based on question answering(QA) of weapons and equipment knowledge graph(WEKG) to construct and navigate the knowledge related to weapons and equipment in the WEORA. This method firstly constructs the WEKG, and builds a neutral network-based QA system over the WEKG by means of semantic parsing for knowledge navigation. Finally, the method is evaluated and a chatbot on the QA system is developed for the WEORA. Our proposed method has good performance in the accuracy and efficiency of searching target knowledge, and can well assist the WEORA.

Biomineralization of soil with crude soybean urease using different calcium salts

Calcium salt is an important contributing factor for calcium-based *** study the effect of calcium salt on soil biomineralization using crude soybean urease,the calcium salts,including the calcium chloride (CaCl_(2)),calcium acetate ((CH_(3)COO)_(2)Ca) and calcium nitrate (Ca(NO_(3))_(2)),were used to prepare the biotreatment solution to carry out the biomineralization tests in this *** series of biomineralization tests in solution and sand column,respectively,were *** electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were performed to determine the microscopic characteristics of the precipitated calcium carbonate (CaCO_(3)) *** experimental results indicate that the biomineralization effect is the best for the CaCl2 case,followed by (CH_(3)COO)_(2)Ca,and worst for Ca(NO_(3))_(2) under the test conditions of this study (i.e.1 mol/L of calcium salt-urea).The mechanism for the effect of the calcium salt on the biomineralization of crude soybean urease mainly involves: (1) inhibition of urease activity,and (2) influence on the crystal size and morphology of CaCO_(3).Besides Ca^(2+) ,the anions in solution can inhibit the activity of crude soybean urease,and NO_(3)− has a stronger inhibitory effect on the urease activity compared with both CH_(3)COO^(−) and Cl^(−) .The co-inhibition of Ca^(2+) and NO_(3)− on the activity of urease is the key reason for the worst biomineralization of the Ca(NO_(3))_(2) case in this *** difference in biomineralization between the CaCl_(2) and (CH_(3)COO)_(2) Ca cases is strongly correlated with the crystal morphology of the precipitated CaCO_(3).

Creep damage evolution process of asphalt binder based on viscoelastic characteristics

The creep damage evolution of asphalt binder plays a significant role in investigating the formation mechanism of *** rutting is the common distress at high temperatures for asphalt ***,the reliability of existing creep damage parameters is under questioned,and these parameters cannot accurately illustrate the change of intrinsic microstructure for asphalt *** this paper,a new test protocol was given access to study the evolution of viscoelastic parameters during creep *** was completed by inserting the frequency sweep during creep *** frequency sweep curve clusters were fitted by the generalized Kelvin-Voigt model for obtaining the change law of model *** on the change law and sensitivity analysis of model parameters,(E_(2)+E_(3))/2 was proposed as the creep damage *** to the curve of(E_(2)+E_(3))/2 versus loading time,two stages during the creep test could be identified:an approximate constant value in phase I and a linear decrease in phase *** differences about creep property of binders could be determined by this new proposed *** results not only ensure better understanding of the creep damage mechanism of binders,but also lay the theoretical foundation on predicting the anti-rutting performance of binders.

A combination of straw incorporation and polymer-coated urea offsets soil ammonia and nitrous oxide emissions in winter wheat fields

The combined effects of straw incorporation(SI)and polymer-coated urea(PCU)application on soil ammonia(NH_(3))and nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emissions from agricultural fields have not been comprehensively evaluated in Northwest *** conducted a two-year field experiment to assess the effects of combining SI with either uncoated urea(U)or PCU on soil NH_(3)emissions,N_(2)O emissions,winter wheat yields,yield-scaled NH_(3)(/NH_(3)),and yield-scaled N_(2)O(/N_(2)O).Five treatments were investigated,no nitrogen(N)fertilizer(N_(0)),U application at 150 kg N ha-1 with and without SI(SI+U and S_(0)+U),and PCU application at 150 kg N ha^(-1) with and without SI(SI+PCU and S_(0)+PCU).The results showed that the NH_(3);emissions increased by 20.98-34.35%following Sl compared to straw removal,mainly due to increases in soil ammonium(NH_(4)^(+)-N)content and water-flled pore space(WFPS).SI resulted in higher N_(2)O emissions than under the So scenario by 13.31-49.23%due to increases in soil inorganic N(SIN)contents,WFPS,and soil microbial *** contrast,the PCU application reduced the SIN contents compared to the U application,reducing the NH_(3)and N_(2)O emissions by 45.99-58.07 and 18.08-53.04%,***,no significant positive effects of the SI or PCU applications on the winter wheat yield were *** lowest /NH_(3) and /N_(2)O values were observed under the S_(0)+PCU and SI+PCU *** results suggest that single PCU applications and their combination with straw are the optimal agricultural strategies for mitigating gaseous N emissions and maintaining optimal winter wheat yields in Northwest China.

针对我国国情和区域空间特征,提出立足于美好人居环境建设的“国家空间规划论”,从理论上提出国家城镇空间的构建要以生态安全为前提,形成由差异性空间资源分析、适应性空间结构布局和动态性监测评估优化构成的区域空间理论认识,并随着城镇化进程的不断推进和所面临问题的不断变化,将其内涵不断拓展和完善。以此为基础,提出精准分析与适应性技术的区域空间优化方法,从自然生态、安全风险两个维度,构建由区域精准分析、适应性空间规划、动态性监测评估优化等三大技术构成的全周期的区域空间优化技术体系。以20年来多个不同尺度的区域性规划实践为例,阐述该方法的具体应用。
