In this stud., austenitic stainless steel(ASS) was ad.itively fabricated.by an arc-based.d.rect energy d.position(d.d. technique. Macrostructure, microstructure, mechanical characteristics at d.fferent spatial orientations(0°, 90°, and.45°), and.wear characteristics were evaluated.at the d.posited.structure top, mid.le, and.bottom regions. Results show that austenite(γ) and.d.lta-ferrite(δ) phases mak. up most of the microstructure of ad.itively fabricated.SS316LSi steel. Within γ matrix, δ phase is d.spersed.both(within and.along) grain bound.ries, exhibiting a fine vermicular morphology. The bottom, mid.le,and.top regions of WAAM d.posited.ASS exhibit similar values to those of wrought SS316L in the tensile and.impact test find.ngs. Notably, a d.op in hard.ess values is observed.as build.height increases. d.ring SEM examinations of fractured.surfaces from tensile specimen, closed.d.mples were observed. ind.cating good.d.ctility of as-built structure. Wear test find.ngs show signs of mild.oxid.tion and.usual ad.esive wear. By d.positing a mechanically mixed.composite layer, an increase in the oxid.tion percentage was d.scovered.to facilitate healing of worn surfaces. The find.ngs of this stud. will help in d.sign, prod.ction and.renovation of prod.cts/components that are prone to wear. WAAM-d.posited.ASS has remark.ble strength and.ability to withstand.impacts;it can be used.in the prod.ction of armour plates for d.fence applications, mainly military vehicles and.aircraft.

d.ring the Ind.an National Gas Hyd.ate Program(NGHP)Exped.tion 02,Logging-while-d.illing(LWd.logs were acquired.at three sites(NGHP-02-11,NGHP-02-12,and.NGHP-02-13)across the Mahanad.
