Assessment the Effectiveness of Preparedness for Relative Constant Factors in Environmental Disaster Management: A Case Study from Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia

The preparedness phase is considered as backbone of environmental disaster management. The aim of this study is to identify the effect of relatively constant factors of preparedness phase on environmental disaster management in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. The study used descriptive and analytical approach besides the comprehensive survey depends upon questionnaire for purposive data surveyed all employees in the field of environmental disaster management in Riyadh city including administrations, department, and contains 21 sector including public and private sector for total population of about 397 persons and sample size about 353 persons using statistical tests, frequencies, percentage, average, standard deviation and t test and × square test as well as Likert procedure on which depends on the measurement such as: very high, high, average, weak and very weak. The main results reveal that the constant factors of environmental disaster management are more important for evaluating the preparedness phase. Since the relatively constant factors of environmental disaster management are more important. The study recommends that: 1) Enhancement of the systems and procedures in particular disaster management procedures. 2) It is so necessary to publish a new unit for disaster management in the sectors have not. 3) Increase and encouragement of environmental disaster management studies in particular for preparedness phase because it considers as backbone of disaster management and suggestion of regional and local organizations link generally and in information trade off and the details studies in particular by providing the different types of support and encouragement.

Effect of Abscisic Acid on NaCI Stressed Callus Proliferation and Plant Regeneration in Rice

In rice, 2,4-Dichlorphenoxyacetic acid （MS2） has been considered best for callus induction and combination ofNAA, IAA, ABA （MS3） for somatic embryogenesis. Efficient plant regeneration was observed when MS basal salts supplied with 3% sorbitol and 3% maltose as carbon sources without hormones （MSac）. During this experiment, effect of sodium chloride （NaCl） and abscisic acid （ABA） was assessed on callus growth, plant regeneration and root induction efficiency of rice （Oryza sativa L.） varieties IR-6 and Basmati-370. Callus proliferation rate was highly decreased in both varieties on MS2b （100 mol.m3 NaCl ＋ 0.5 mg＇L1 ABA） than MS2a （100 mol＇m3 NaCl） cultures significantly. Proline, glycine-betaine and reducing sugars were increased significantly in MS2a and MS2b callusing cultures. However, total proteins were decreased in MS2a, while slightly increased in MS2b. Maximum plant regeneration （9.42 ±0.54 and 10.67 ±0.50 ***1） from somatic embryos was observed on MS4c in IR-6 and Basmati-370, while 1.56 ± 0.06 （IR-6） and 0.95 ±0.05 （Basmati-370） plantlets callus1 were observed on MSab （100 mol·m3 NaCl）. No plant regeneration was observed on MS4b （100 mol·m3 NaCl ＋ 0.5 mg·L-1 ABA） medium in both varieties. Inhibition of root induction efficiency was high in MSsb （100 mol·m3 NaCl ＋ 0.5 mg·L-1 ABA） than MS5a （100 mol·m3 NaCl） in the stressed cultures （P 〈 0.05）. In this experiment, it was concluded that ABA involved in somatic embryogenesis and elevation of NaCl stress, while it causes inhibition of cell＇s growth as well as its regeneration into plantlets from somatic embryos.

Antileishmanial Potential of PipernigrumSeed Extracts against Leishmaniadonovani

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a pestilent form of leishmaniasis that chiefly impinges the poorest sections of the society. The prototypical therapeutic interventions in vogue are handicapped due to toxicity and alarming increase in drug resistance. In the absence of vaccines, progressive emergence of HIV-VL co-infection and relapse in the form of post kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis, have fuelled the quest for alternative therapies. Herein, we report antileishmanial activity of Piper nigrum, which is endowed with multifarous medicinal properties. Hexane (PNH) and ethanolic (PNE) extracts of P. nigrum substantially inhibited the growth of Leishmania donovani promastigotes with 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 31.6 and 37.8 μg·ml-1, respectively. Growth reversibility analysis revealed the leishmanicidal effect of PNH which caused cell shrinkage and flagellar disruption. In contrast, PNE treated promastigotes showed partial effect. PNH and PNE also abrogated the growth of intra-macrophagic Leishmania amastigotes with IC50 of 14.6 and 18.3 μg·ml-1, respectively. Anti-amastigote efficacy of PNH was accompanied by higher selectivity over host macrophages than PNE. Gas-Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry showed the presence of several secondary metabolites such as trans-β-caryophyllene, piperine, β-bisabolene and other sesquiterpenes in PNH and piperine, δ-(sup 9)-cis oleic acid and piperyline in PNE. Conclusively, our work revealed discernible antileishmanial activity of P. nigrum extracts.

Identification of quantitative trait loci(QTLs)controlling yield and yield-related traits in rice was performed in the F_(2) mapping population derived from parental rice genotypes DHMAS and K343.A total of 30 QTLs governing nine different traits were identified using the composite interval mapping(CIM)*** QTLs were mapped for number of tillers per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs),2 and 3;three QTLs for panicle number per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs)and 3;four QTLs for plant height on chromosomes 2,4,5 and 6;one QTL for spikelet density on chromosome 5;four QTLs for spikelet fertility percentage(SFP)on chromosomes 2,3 and 5(2 QTLs);two QTLs for grain length on chromosomes 1 and 8;three QTLs for grain width on chromosomes1,3 and 8;three QTLs for 1000-grain weight(TGW)on chromosomes 1,4 and 8 and six QTLs for yield per plant(YPP)on chromosomes 2(3 QTLs),4,6 and *** of the QTLs were detected on chromosome 2,so further studies on chromosome 2 could help unlock some new chapters of QTL for this cross of rice *** QTLs elucidating high phenotypic variance can be used for marker-assisted selection(MAS)***,the exploitation of information regarding molecular markers tightly linked to QTLs governing these traits will facilitate future crop improvement strategies in rice.

Feasibility of Simultaneous Application of Fuzzy Neural Network and TOPSIS Integrated Method in Potential Mapping of Lead and Zinc Mineralization in Isfahan-Khomein Metallogeny Zone

Iran is located on a silver, lead, and zinc belt and according to the latest studies holds 11 million tons of lead, zinc, and silver stones which constitute 4 percent of global resources. Considering that mineral materials are explored in an uncertain space, exploration investment risk is an inseparable part of these activities. The important fact is to minimize the effect of this undesired factor in exploration. To achieve this, it is required that exploration activities and withdrawals are performed in a certain framework in which risk minimization is considered. Using mineral potential modelling for determining promising zones which should be taken into consideration in more detailed stages could make achieving the purpose possibly. This work is aimed at applying fuzzy neural network and TOPSIS methods simultaneously in order to explore zinc and lead resources. In this article, geological, telemetry, geophysics, and geochemistry data is integrated using fuzzy-neural network (neuro fuzzy) and using TOPSIS method rating for lead and zinc ore deposit potential mapping in Isfahan-Khomein strip which has been introduced as one of zinc and leads mineral scopes in Iran. This area which is composed of several zinc and lead ore deposits has been considered as the target area. Fuzzy integration results of zinc and lead mineralization witness layers confirm the relatively high potential of lead and zinc mineralization in this region having a northwest-southeast trend and involving more than 90 percent of the known indices and ore deposits of the region. In this research, it was shown that the results of TOPSIS-Neuro-Fuzzy integrated model (a combination of neural network and fuzzy logic) have increased the resolution of talented areas from the areas with no mineralization potential in comparison with the fuzzy method individually.

Recovery of Image through Alamouti Channel with Incorporation of RSA Algorithm

In many applications, it is necessary to transmit images at a remote station, where wired Internet service is not available. In this case, wireless local loop (WLL) can help in making wireless link between one end node of the internet and remote service center. In such link, the communication is heavily affected by large and small scale fading;hence the received signal experiences huge distortion in case of forward error correction. Otherwise, huge service delay arises due to frequent negative acknowledgements. To combat the situation, we can choose Alamouti channel of full rate and fully orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC). Our aim is to transmit images through Alamouti channel and to observe the quality of the recovered image, in context of bit error rate (BER). We have also observed the impact of fading and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) on the image without application of error correction or detection technique of channel coding. To ensure security, we apply the RSA algorithm on each pixel prior transmitting and decrypt them at the receiving end, where we found no impairment from the algorithm. Finally, we observe that the relative performance of the system changes digital modulation schemes.

The relationship between Helicobacter pyloridisease and bacterial count in stomach

Several studies showed significant relationships between bacterial counts and the severity and type of disease in patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between Helicobacter pylori disease and bacterial count. In this study, 287 patients with dyspeptic symptoms were evaluated. Three variables including patient-reported data, clinical signs and bacterial load of gastric specimens were analyzed. Biopsy samples were collected from patients who were referred for endoscopies because of dyspeptic symptoms. Initially, the clinical status was evaluated and recorded by a questionnaire. DNA extraction was performed and H. pylori was analyzed for bacterial count by Real-time PCR assay and specific primers and probe. The variety range of bacteria in specimens was 104 to 1012. The results revealed that a greater relationships existed between 1012 and gastric cancer (p = 0.036), also 104 and acid reflux (p = 0.006) and vomiting (p = 0.047). Real-time PCR assay provides a highly accurate, rapid and precise method for detection of H. pylori and determination of progressive disease due to this bacterium.

One-Pot Synthesis of Aldol Adduct Catalyzed by Immobilized Picolylamine on Zirconia

Direct aldol reactions have been successfully performed using aromatic aldehyde and cyclic ketone in nonpolar solvent by using immobilized picolylamine on zirconia as a catalyst, in a double walled batch reactor. The prepared catalyst was characterized by SEM, XRD and FT-IR. FT-IR peaks reveal the presence of picolylamine on the surface of zirconia. The catalyst shows excellent catalytic activity in aldol reaction of cyclohexanone with benzaldehyde in cyclohexane giving 2-hydroxyphenylmethylcyclohexanone (55.7% yield) in 4 hr at 80?C. Furthermore, the catalyst is recoverable by simple filtration and could be used several times without significant loss in activity.
