Terahertz(THz)technologies have become a focus of research in recent years due to their prominent role in envisioned future communication and sensing *** of the key challenges facing the field is the need for tools to enable agile engineering of THz wave ***,we describe a reconfigurable metasurface based on GaN technology with an array-of-subarrays *** subwavelength-spaced array,under the control of a 1-bit digital coding sequence,can switch between an enormous range of possible configurations,providing facile access to nearly arbitrary wave front control for signals near 0.34 *** demonstrate wide-angle beam scanning with 1°of angular precision over 70 GHz of bandwidth,as well as the generation of multi-beam and diffuse wave fronts,with a switching speed up to 100 *** device,offering the ability to rapidly reconfigure a propagating wave front for beam-forming or diffusively scattered wide-angle coverage of a scene,will open new realms of possibilities in sensing,imaging,and networking.

Early warning of heavy metal pollution after tailing pond failure accident

Heavy metal pollution is a major issue after tailing pond failure accident. It is important to predict pollution trends for limited data of pollution sources. A simple phase separation heavy metal model was built for early warning simulation of heavy metal pollution accidents. Based on this， a new simulation framework has been developed to predict the pollution trends of the downstream according to the measured data at upstream sections. By setting the upstream monitoring date as the inflow boundary condition， the changing processes of heavy metal manganese（Mn） with different phases in the downstream can be accurately simulated and forecasted. Results showed that the concentration of the suspended phase in the downstream was larger than that in the aqueous phase and sediment *** this， the early warning of pollution trends after accidents could be made a few days ahead. It indicates that the impact of sediment on heavy metal should not be ignored in the early warning of tailing pond failure accidents.

New secondary metabolites with cytotoxicity from fungus Penicillium roqueforti

Two novel compounds including a cyclohelminthol type polyketide(namely oxaleimide K,1)and a maleimide deriva-tive(namely peniroquefortine A,2),and a new natural product(namely 2-(acetylamino)-N-[(1E)-2-phenylethenyl]-acetamide,3),together with four known compounds(4-7),were isolated and identified from fungus Penicillium roqueforti,which was separated from the root soil of Hypericum beanii *** collected from the Shennongjia For-estry District,Hubei *** structures including absolute configurations were mainly established by the NMR spectroscopy analyses and single-crystal X-ray diffraction *** 1 represents the second example of a cyclohelminthol type polyketide,which features a rare 6/6/5/5 tetracyclic system and a branched aliphatic chain containing a terminal olefin(oct-1-en-3-yl)moiety,and compound 2 possesses an unprecedented carbon skeleton that is uniquely defined by a maleimide moiety linked to the respective 4-methylene-2-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)-phenol and para-substituted aromatic moieties via the carbon-carbon ***,the absolute configuration of a cyclohelminthol type polyketide as exemplified by compound 1 is determined by the single-crystal diffraction analysis for the first time,highlighting an E-configuration for the linkage of a succinimide moiety and a tetrahydro-furan moiety for 1 rather than a Z-configuration as previously reported in the biosynthesis study,which gives a new insight into the structural elucidation of this category of ***,compound 1 exhibited significant cytotoxic activity against multiple tumor cells,especially against the Farage and SU-DHL-2 cells(IC_(50)<20μM,48 h).Further mechanism study revealed that compound 1 significantly induced cell cycle arrest in Farage and SU-DHL-2 cells by causing abnormal ROS level and triggering oxidative stress.

AN HMM BASED ANALYSIS FRAMEWORK FOR SEMANTIC VIDEO EVENTS

Semantic video analysis plays an important role in the field of machine intelligence and pattern recognition. In this paper, based on the Hidden Markov Model (HMM), a semantic recognition framework on compressed videos is proposed to analyze the video events according to six low-level features. After the detailed analysis of video events, the pattern of global motion and five features in foreground—the principal parts of videos, are employed as the observations of the Hidden Markov Model to classify events in videos. The applications of the proposed framework in some video event detections demonstrate the promising success of the proposed framework on semantic video analysis.

Superlubricity is an ideal lubrication state where friction nearly vanishes between contact interfaces. It has become one of the most important research topics and approaches owing to its significance in reducing energy consumption and preventing device failures. As an efficient and universal lubricating principle capable of achieving superlubricity, rolling lubrication has attracted widespread attention in recent years. In this review, the theoretical concept of rolling lubrication and the experimental research progress of spherical/scroll structures are summarized. The review focuses on the possibility of achieving rolling lubrication using spherical/scroll structures(such as spherical fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, and formed and constructed spherical/scroll structures). The challenges in achieving rolling lubrication are summarized, and the possibility of molecular rolling lubrication,as well as its potential applications in superlubrication, are discussed.

Gas identification and concentration measurements are important for both understanding and monitoring a variety of phenomena from industrial processes to environmental *** a novel mid-IR plasmonic gas sensor with on-chip direct readout is proposed based on unity integration of narrowband spectral response,localized field enhancement and thermal detection.A systematic investigation consisting of both optical and thermal simulations for gas sensing is presented for the first time in three sensing modes including refractive index sensing,absorption sensing and spectroscopy,*** is found that a detection limit less than 100 ppm for CO2 could be realized by a combination of surface plasmon resonance enhancement and metal-organic framework gas enrichment with an enhancement factor over 8000 in an ultracompact optical interaction length of only several ***,on-chip spectroscopy is demonstrated with the compressive sensing algorithm via a narrowband plasmonic sensor *** array of 80 such sensors with an average resonance linewidth of 10 nm reconstructs the CO2 molecular absorption spectrum with the estimated resolution of approximately 0.01 nm far beyond the state-of-the-art *** novel device design and analytical method are expected to provide a promising technique for extensive applications of distributed or portable mid-IR gas sensor.

Herpesviruses antagonize host antiviral responses through a myriad of molecular strategies culminating in the death of the host *** virus(PRV)is a significant veterinary pathogen in pigs,causing neurological sequalae that ultimately lead to the animal's *** is known to trigger apoptotic cell death during the late stages of *** virion host shutdown protein(VHS)encoded by UL41 plays a crucial role in the PRV infection *** this study,we demonstrate that UL41 inhibits PRV-induced activation of inflammatory cytokine and negatively regulates the cGAS-STING-mediated antiviral activity by targeting IRF3,thereby inhibiting the translocation and phosphorylation of ***,mutating the conserved amino acid sites(E192,D194,and D195)in the RNase domain of UL41 or knocking down UL41 inhibits the immune evasion of PRV,suggesting that UL41 may play a crucial role in PRV's evasion of the host immune response during *** results enhance our understanding of how PRV structural proteins assist the virus in evading the host immune response.

回顾中国新诗发展史,其行程中的转向频率,其进展与社会预期的差距,均属始料未及。论及20世纪新诗发展的曲折性问题,要从“长时段”角度分析新诗与旧诗的差异所在,从“中时段”角度探究新诗承载的文化精神,从“短时段”角度分析新诗文体的演化历程。本文认为,在新诗发展的历程中文化因素和文体因素几乎同等重要,但是人们往往重视前者而忽视后者,结果未能形成读者喜闻乐见的文体形式,也造成了新诗发展的曲折性。
