Nowadays,magnesium alloys are emerging in biomedical implants for their similar properties to natural ***,the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinders successful *** of microstructure,as well as reinforcement particles can significantly improve the degradation *** this work,multi-pass friction stir processing(FSP)was proposed to synthesiz. WE43/nano-hydroxyapatite(n ha)surface composite,the microstructure,reinforced particle distribution,micro-hardness,corrosion behavior and in-vitro bioactivity were *** subsequent FSP passes of WE43 alloy and WE43/n ha composite refined the grain siz. which was reduced by 94.29%and 95.92%(2.63 and 1.88μm,respectively)compared to base metal after three *** resulted in increasing the microhardness by 120%(90.86 HV0.1)and 135%(105.59 HV0.1)for the WE43 and WE43-n ha,*** is found that increasing FSP passes improved the uniform distribution of n ha particles within the composite matrix which led to improved corrosion resistance and less degradation *** corrosion rate of the FSPed WE43/n ha composite after three passes was reduced by 38.2%(4.13 mm/year)and the degradation rate was reduced by 69.7%(2.87 mm/y).This is attributed to secondary phase(Mg24Y5and Mg41Nd5)particle fragmentation and redistribution,as well as a homogeneous distribution of n ***,the growing Ca-P and Mg(OH)2layer formed on the surface represented a protective layer that reduced the degradation *** wettability test revealed a relatively hydrophilic surface with water contact angle of 49.1±2.2°compared to 71.2±2.1°for base ***,biomineraliz.tion test showed that apatite layer grew after immersion 7d in simulated body fluid with atomic ratio of Ca/P 1.60 approaching the stoichiometric ratio(1.67)indicating superior bioactivity of FSPed WE43/n ha composite after three *** results raise that the grain refinement by FSP and introduction of n ha partic

Our study aimed to compare the essential oil(EO)concentration and composition of several Apiaceae species growing in the Northern region of *** yields of EOs from materials ranged from 0.03%(root EO of Angelica acutiloba and aerial parts EO of Heracleum bivittatum)-0.27%(leaf EO of Xyloselinum vietnamense).Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)allowed the identiﬁcation of 74 components in the EOs of six Apiaceae species,making up 94.4%–100.0%of the *** EO from Angelica acutiloba,(z.-ligustilide accounted for an extremely large proportion(94.9%).EO of Angelica pubescens was dominated by six character-istic components includingα-pinene(21.5%),β-phellandrene(18.1%),p-cymene(12.2%),3-methylnonane(8.7%),o-cymene(8.1%),and D-sylvestrene(6.2%).The EO from Cryptotaenia japonica was characteriz.d by high amounts ofα-selinene(48.7%),β-selinene(23.7%),and trans-β-farnesene(5.4%).The EOs from leaves and stems of Xyloselinum vietnamense were characteriz.d by high concentrations of sabinene(69.8%and 33.8%),4-terpineol(8.7%and 7.4%)andβ-pinene(4.0%and 6.5%)while EOs from aerial parts and root of Xylo-selinum leonidii comprise four characteristic monoterpenes includingα-pinene(28.2%and 52.8%),β-pinene(7.9%and 10.3%),β-phellandrene(7.6%and 15.3%),and sabinene(3.0%and 4.1%).Additionally,cryptone is also one of the major components in the EO of Xyloselinum leonidii(13.2%in the aerial parts oil and 2.8%in the root oil).In the EOs isolated from the aerial parts and root of Heracleum bivittatum,α-pinene(22.5%and 70.2%)andβ-pinene(43.2%and 20.0%)were the predominant *** appeared in the EO from aerial parts of Heracleum bivittatum with a relatively high concentration(13.5%)while bornyl acetate(5.1%)was also one of the main components in the EO from its aerial parts but was not detected in other Apiaceae species in the present *** databases help identify and control the quality of plant material studied from the family Apiaceae growing in Vietnam.

Background: While working as risk consultants at Barra in 1990’s, the first two authors decided to start collaborating on a research project with its first paper titled “Application of Volatility in Portfolio Construction” [1]. The third author was then a risk manager of a financial institution which was a client of Barra’s. Bringing his expertise in portfolio risk management, he joined the research team. Aim: The core of this paper lies in the construction of an investment portfolio with a main objective of value appreciation while examining its tracking error [1]-[3], a risk measurement with reference to a benchmark [1] [4]. The authors believe, while tracking error measurement is a common tool for portfolio risk management, total risk measurement is more important. The management goal is to minimiz. drawbacks using the technique of risk budgeting. These topics will be discussed in future research papers.

We studied the CBOE Market Volatility Index from 1995 to 2004 and the Cross-Sectional Volatility of MSCI US and MSCI AC Asia ex Japan of the same period. Tracking Error calculations and Market Volatility Analyses were performed. We selected a portfolio, Dragon, for Risk Analysis, Risk Decomposition and Risk Characteristics identification purposes. A conclusion relating Dragon’s Tracking Error and its Portfolio Siz. was drawn.

Objectives: To obtain very end full-length cDna ofhepatitis C virus (HCV) 5’ untranslated region(5’UTR) and analyz. its primary and ***: A patient infected genotype 2a HCV wasidentified by reverse transcription-nested polymerasechain reaction (RT-PCR) and restriction fragmentlength polymorphism (RFLP). Total Rna isolatedfrom the serum was used as template, and the cDnaof the 5’ untranslated region was amplified using rap-id amplification of cDna ends (RACE). The frag-ments were recombinated by A-T clone strategy, andthe recombinants were confirmed by RFLP andPCR, and sequenced subsequently. Secondary struc-tures were analysed by ***: Very end full-length cDna of genotype 2aHCV 5’ UTR was obtained by RACE. In five clonesobtained, three contained full-length 5’UTR cDna;A21G, G170A, T222C, T247C, C339T substitutionswere found as compared to HC-J6. Homological re-sults of HCV-1, HC-J6, HC-C2, HC-J8 were 93.6%-94.4%, 92.1%-93%, 98.8%-99.7%, 96.2%-96.5%, respectively; however, the substitutions didnot alter secondary structure. Two of 5 clones weredeletions of 53bp and 135bp at the 5’terminal ofHCV 5’UTR, ***: RACE can be used to obtain the full-length cDna of 2a genotype HCV 5’UTR. Genes de-leted at the 5’ terminal of HCV circulate in hepatitisC patients.

A measurement of the z.production cross-section in γe^(-) collisions at the Large hadron^(-)electron Collider(LHeC) is presented for comparison to that at the International Linear Collider(ILC).The total cross-section depends strongly on the polariz.tion of the initial and final e^(-)beams and the electron beam energy Ee;the energy of the proton beam was set to E_(p)=7 *** results show that the total cross^(-)section in γe^(-)→z.^(-)→l^(-)l+e^(-) at the LHeC is much larger than that at the ILC.

A field experiment was conducted to examine the residual influence of biochar applied previously to an established experiment at the Agriculture University Research Farm, Peshawar on soil properties and yield of maiz. crop during summer 2016. The experiment was established in RCB design with split plot arrangements having cropping systems (CS) in main plots and biochar (BC) in sub-plots. Cropping systems were: 1) wheat-mung bean;2) wheat-maiz.;3) chickpea-maiz.;and 4) chickpea-mung bean. During the past three seasons, each cropping system received biochar at 0, 40, 60 and 80 t·haǃ along with recommended dose of NPK in each season. For this study, maiz. was planted after chickpea and wheat in summer 2016. The results showed that grain yield, cobs weight and total N uptake of maiz. was significantly greater for chickpea-maiz. than for wheat-maiz. cropping system. Soil organic C was also significantly higher in soil under chickpea-maiz. than under wheat-maiz. cropping system. However, other yield components such as stover yield, harvest index and N concentration in grain and stover of maiz. and soil properties such as pH, EC and mineral N were non-significantly affected by cropping systems. With respect to residual effect of biochar grain yield of maiz. and bulk density of soil were maximum for treatment receiving biochar at 40 t·haǃ whereas cobs weight soil pH and mineral N were highest receiving biochar at 60 t·haǃ. Moreover, N concentration in stover, N uptake and soil organic C were maximum for treatment receiving biochar at 80 t·haǃ. However, stover yield, harvest index, N concentration in grain, and soil EC were non-significantly affected by biochar treatments. However interactions between CS × BC were significant for yield and yield parameters of maiz. and for soil properties (bulk density mineral N), while non-significant for harvest index, soil organic C, pH and EC.
